It's a strange one, the line is in place for around 2 miles more (could be wrong on the exact distance) but they don't have permission to use it. There is a company that wants to turn it into a cycle path, and these guys want to extend the railway, and it's an ongoing battle. As a cyclist I love old railways, but I don't think we should be lifting any track that is still down to make a cycle path.
I need to ride this line in 2023! It could easily be extended south the Kirkby Stephen East.
