    His ideology on minimum wage is very close to the "yes, the systems is rigged and that's why it will be so sweat when i win"

    • @MrFuzziiWuzzii
      @MrFuzziiWuzzii 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +39

      People who are pro-abolishing minimum wage say things like “companies will be able to pay people what they’re worth” which just means “I don’t think people are worth the bare minimum that currently doesn’t even cover cost of living”. Unless you want people to be paid less than minimum wage, there’s no argument to be made in favor of abolition.

    • @locallyringedspace3190
      @locallyringedspace3190 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      His argument was that raising (or enacting) minimum wage leads to higher costs of living for everyone. So eventually the poor will end up with the same living standards and every else in the middle class will have devalued salaries and savings. Raising the minimum wage only increases standards of living in the short term and is counterproductive for society in the long term. The only way to truly raise the standard of living is through government projects and corporate innovation that creates real value. Printing money does not create value, it just dilutes the value of the money. A potential consequence of doing something that is extraordinary valuable to society might be the accumulation of extraordinary wealth, which is motivating to people. Therefore you should become a millionaire if you get the chance.
      I’m not saying I’m agreeing with all of these stances, but your characterization is definitely a straw man.

    • @GoPieman
      @GoPieman 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@locallyringedspace3190 raising pays does not happen in a vacuum and inflation is more complicated, it's got dials and higher minimum wage would only affect inflation in specific circumstances. Maybe tangibly enacting the impossibility of anyone's work being hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of times more valuable than anyone else's work would help too. Or shifting society away from the profit incentive and private ownership, which cause crises inflation (boards upping profits and director wages when everyone at the bottom suffers), shock doctrine grabs, requires massive manufactured demand, planned obsolescence, absurd destruction of surplus production, and a system that largely locks people into opportunities pertaining to their existing wealth.
      I know you said you're not stating your own opinion, just responding because both comments are incomplete and treating minimum wage in a vacuum.

    • @wyattjohnson5181
      @wyattjohnson5181 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      the guy was talking about how a dollar had more spending power when he was a kid, but that fact has little bearing on the present, because the government has printed much more money, and inflation is killing everyone. Adding a higher minimum wage would not necessitate the printing of more money. It would just mean companies would have to pay their employees more (at least to my knowledge) idk, I feel like his ideas kind of contradicted themselves many times. Like when he talked about "workfare" he was saying it would decrease the load on the tax payer, but where does he think the money to pay the people comes from? The answer is still the taxpayer. And his thoughts on why rich shouldn't be taxed more also reminded me of trickle down economics (which don't work), if we tax people who make more, even after taxes, they will still have made more than people with lower incomes, so the incentive is still very much there.

How about the nearly trillion dollar defense budget that is unnecessary today?
