Thoroughly enjoyed the vlog almost as much as the actual day. P and C are exactly same in "real life" as on TH-cam. I am very thankful that they took a chance on meeting a crazy NY'er and started a wonderful friendship. It's always good to catch some guest appearances by June too.

I envy you Kevin! I think it’s fabulous that you hosted them while they were there. You were so lucky to be able to do that! I’m so glad that they’re down to earth and just as nice in person as they are in their videos. I hope I get to meet them on my travels somewhere someday ❤

Growing up in NYC in the 60s the cost of a subway ride was a 10cent token

That was absolutely amazing. The tribute to 911 brought tears to my eyes. I get up about 45 minutes from NYC and haven't been back since 1997. Someday I'll get back to see the memorial.
New York is like no other city!

Thanks for this New York vlog. It reminded me of when we (myself, my daughter and her partner, and her 2 daughters) went for a long weekend in 2002, after 911. We went to ground zero when it was still being cleared. It still had many of the missing posters up. It was heartbreaking to see. I am hoping to go back one day and see it again. On a lighter note - O M G the size of the portions served absolutely knocked us for six. In the hope of getting just a light meal, I asked for a bowl of soup. As I was facing the entry for the kitchens, my heart sank. "Please tell me this is not what I think it is!" Walking towards me was the waitress holding - I kid you not - a bowl the size of a washing up bowl! It has gone down as the legendary bowl of soup. We took the ferry to actually go to Ellis Island to see the Statue of Liberty close up and the museum there. My memory of Times Square was visiting a McDonald's in the land of McDonald's. When I made sure we already had our food, I asked to see the manager and had to tell her that their toilet facilities were absolutely disgusting!!! I was totally gobsmacked at the state of them. We loved our time in New York and I found the locals very friendly and happy to chat. Looking forward to your next episode. Cheers for now.

It’s true about New York City water making the pizza crust extra tasty. NYC water is delicious, coming from the Ashokan Reservoir in upstate New York.

Excellent part one vblog of your NYC stay. Your hotel room looks great. Your camera work is superb! Fantastic commentary and footage of the sites and the getting around. I have been to NYC many times and am returning in April 2024 to embark an eastbound Atlantic 14 day cruise to Southampton with Norwegian Getaway from the Manhattan Cruise terminal. I will be staying in one of the Doubletree Hotels close by and spending (or wasting) my evenings in the gay bars and clubs with locals as I have seen most of the tourist spots already. Looking forward to part 2.

What a wonderful vlog, and wow, you fit so much in on your first full day! How lovely that Kevin showed you around his city. I`m from western Canada and I happened to be home on 9/11 and saw all the events unfold in real time; it still gives me chills and I can`t watch anything about it without crying. I can`t imagine the families of the victims having to live with all that. I`m glad you chose to do other things after seeing the memorial rather than that being the end of your day.

Same. My cousin's brother in law is one of those who perished there. His name is inscribed on the footprint.
I remember as it was happening...my neighbor's son worked in the second tower and decided to get out even though they made announcements for people to stay in their offices. He wanted to help a woman who had just returned from maternity leave to evacuate the building but she refused. He survived but she sadly didn't. ...so many sad stories.
