The Rocky Mountaineer is one of the most iconic trains in the world and we wanted to find out if it lived up to the hype. As part of our Titan Tour we booked Journey Through The Clouds which started in Jasper and finished in Vancouver. We show you exactly what to expect over the two day journey, and let you know if we think it was worth it!
We completed the Titan Travel Alaskan Deluxe Voyage which included a land tour of Canada from Calgary to Vancouver including the Rocky Mountaineer and a cruise to Alaska on Holland America Konningsdam cruise ship to Alaska in July 2023.

Well as I understand it you got upgraded to the GoldLeaf. That is great....I always encourage people to book that. Just a better experience. The cuisine looked really good and the views so good. One of the best videos you've ever filmed. The quality of the visuals captured the stunning scenery and did it justice. Every single image was a joy to the senses and having access to that open carriage, such a gamechanger for those amazing long shots. I had a big smile on my face for that video! I lived in British Columbia for a couple of years on a ranch in the Cariboo, late 80’s and then back to Salisbury!! So pleased you enjoyed that train journey!!

I’m with you Carol. I did a trip in August 2019. I dod Vancouver, Rocky Mountaineer, Banff, Whistler, Sun Peaks, Vancouver Island and then an Alaskan cruise. I was just as emotional as you were. A truly magical experience, never to be forgotten. Hope you enjoyed your cruise.

My mom and I went in July '22 and when we booked that January they had a special where you paid Silver Leaf prices for Gold Leaf Train service with silver leaf hotels. It was fabulous! Our first nice vacation in since 2019! Was so lovely to see another part of Canada. Happy Belated Birthday, Carole!

Really enjoyed this whole vlog series so far! It's a shame it started out not-so-great due to Air Canada and their lacklustre service but it seems to have really picked up after that. Even one week earlier and there would have been no forest fire smoke…however, I’m thrilled you enjoyed the trip through interior BC. The banter inside the train between you both is hilarious and particularly touching this trip…what a joy to watch.

It looks like you're just like me, Carole. I welled up, too, seeing those people waving flags on the platform! For many years, I dreamed of having a Cunard cruise and I never thought it would happen. When I eventually got the opportunity, I could see the ship's name through the terminal windows and the tears started! So glad you had a wonderful birthday.

Western Canada doesn’t get the fall colours that are typical in the east. Not many maple trees and mainly coniferous evergreen forest.

Beautiful things move me to tears too, Carole. Music and art get me sometimes too! Talking about things in your own back yard, I adore YOUR country and have been moved to tears more than once getting to experience and see a few things that are dear to my history loving nerdy little heart. You both go on trips that aren't even on my radar, but I'll watch pretty much anything you two do because you're both just so stinkin enjoyable to "spend time" with while you travel! Yep, this was one of the very best trips that we have ever done. Despite the cost we might even do it again one day, perhaps from the other direction and at the start of summer rather than in September like last time.
Definitely, we would do it again in a heartbeat 😊

Another vote for the Rocky Mountaineer, a "must do" adventure. Wonderful scenery, food and staff. First time I've ever experienced Canadian hospitality and it won’t be the last. Fantastic country and absolutely wonderful people. Went from east (Toronto) to Vancouver and picked up the train in Banff.

Now I can't drink tomato juice as I find it too thick/heavy compared to clamato juice. Glad you are enjoying our beautiful country!! Edit: new subscriber here. We did yes gold leaf service, we were not impressed at all . The sites were lovely but the food was so so. The ride was very rough at times.
The staff was very nice . Hotels so so . We picked the middle level on hotels. Warning if you go in the hot part of summer, some of the hotels don’t have air conditioning. So might want to book the highest level of hotel.
Oh well that’s does surprise us, we only had the silver service and food but it was all excellent 😊
Definitely on my Bucket List, and great to see Paul so cheerful for a morning 😂 having just seen that waterfall, we have come to the conclusion that you were very polite when we showed you Lumsdale falls 😂 Glad Carol got such a great Birthday 😊 it all seemed so well organised 😊

I saved this video for my Saturday morning 'sit down with a cuppa' treat 😊 I've always wanted to do a train journey in the US/Canada and this has spurred me on to start planning! Ps Every time Carole 'goes' so do I ...I think happy emotion is contagious 😅
