Yep, and it was interesting to see that no one believed them First time I’ve seen someone in the group point that out, which was interesting It reminded of an impostor’s strategy in among us too haha
What you mean that “caught on”? They just said it. It’s obvious that the mole will go along with the others. Its not like Anandita wasn’t being voted out by more people too from the start...
It's interesting that Anandita kept saying that just because she's feminine-presenting doesn't make her any less of a lesbian and got voted out, yet the mole was more masculine-presenting, gained the trust of everyone, and won.
@@fellith4295 I definitely see that as reason for her getting voted out, but I still think the point she made was valid. Society has a stereotypical view of what lesbians look like, and that view won, even if it isn't an accurate view. That's more of what I meant.
I really like Rachel, even though she was forced to face off against Anandita twice she was snapping her fingers and nodding when Anandita was talking, it was so nice!
Anandita was literally the most lesbian person in the whole group. She talked about denial, compulsory heterosexuality, thinking she was bi because she thought all woman were attracted to men, dealing with a close minded and non-progressive family, and the struggles of being a lesbian who’s feminine and a poc. Like, that’s the most stereotypical lesbian life experience I’ve ever heard.
@@sen1818 Well it kinda is a competition in this situation, what the other person probably meant was that she was the one that SEEMED most lesbian...the game is about finding out who isnt lesbian, so ofc they will look at eachother and judge who seems least lesbian.
“I didn’t have to read anything to know I’m a lesbian.” That felt very shame based and that’s amazing you didn’t have to but that’s not everyone’s experience. Anandita sharing her experience was such a vulnerable thing and I wish they would’ve been softer and kinder about her experience.
i know i hated that, it kinda made me feel bad about having to have read the master doc too, but now its been called out and im realizing that was 100% shame based
Not that it's right, but I think they dinged her for repeating the same thing..maybe if she had talked about an ex or someone she found attractive, it would have worked in her favour
Desire literally had inch-long acrylics and giant hoop earrings and was sitting in front of a floral tapestry but nobody thought she was fem-presenting?
gosh this gave me such a bad feeling because of how they treated Anandita. Like she literally came out two weeks ago because of internalized homophobia and not wanting to believe it and then they all vote her out cus they don’t believe her just bc she’s nervous. Both femme lesbians were first to be voted out and the stereotypical lesbian-looking mole was never a suspect. gr8
Desire and Madeline are also femme though? I really don't think that that was why they voted her out, like they said, it sounded a lot like she was reading of a script which someone pretending to be something would be very likely to do
anandita shouldn’t have been treated the way she was, she was trying to talk about a lot of hard experiences and realizations she’s had as a lesbian and i felt like everyone else was just shutting her down :(

Indian parents were raised to believe man and woman is normal and two women or two men isn't. We don't know if her parents have accepted her or not and neither did those girls. Anandita looked so upset near the end that I just wanted to hug her.

The fact that she just came out two weeks ago makes all of that trauma pretty fresh so...yeah I get why she was pissed.
How was it invalidated? Most of them agreed with her, Rachel showed it very clearly that she agreed. I think she just took it way too personal BECAUSE her sexuality has been questioned many times before. The purpose of the game was to question people’s sexuality but she felt unnecessarily attacked and came across as stand offish. It’s just harder to vote out people you like and when she was acting snappy it was easier to vote her out.
@jesus Is a homo Lol sure “I am the problem”, I am a femme myself and I do get questioned but it has always been by people outside the community. Within the community I’ve never had anyone question it. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but to claim it is what happened in this video is ridiculous. Even Anandita wrote in this comment section that she didn’t think that was the reason she got voted out, she said she made a lot of points that they didn’t include but on her speed-defense she repeated the femme-thing but she also said that she just took the first thing to mind. It was a game where you were supposed to question people’s sexuality and they voted out 3 people on very loose grounds - because that’s the game. I don’t think anyone would’ve been “questioned” about their sexuality from each other if these women had met in any other queer setting.
@@missylarsson3517 your reading of it is so accurate, I dont think any of them disagreed with her and I think they heard her out the first time she addressed it. But they kept suspicion because of her personality and what she was choosing to say repeatedly because she felt attacked (although people stated other reasons why they chose her, like her sounding like she's reading off of something for ex. which to me was she had a lot of emotion for that to be a script). Don't blame her though, I understand that worry
Also Madeline shared her full thought process during the game on her tik tok where she says JUST THIS, and literally guessed the mole right but hesitated. And she's also feminine.
Anandita literally just came out to her parents. This is already such a vulnerable time for her. I’m sure she is fresh out of a period of self reflection and questioning. For a community of older lesbians to shut her down and invalidate her like that? If I were her I would be so hurt and frustrated. I might even start questioning what I’d thought to be true about myself. Very sad. You could tell she was genuinely frustrated at the end. Also, def some racism sprinkled in that mix. Anandita, there is an entire community of femme lesbians out there who see you and empathize with you!
she deserves better. I felt so bad especially when it was the majority of white women in the call not viewing her countless experiences of being a WOC lesbian and not taking it seriously just because she's feminine
i didn’t like that part... i don’t know it kind of felt like she was invalidating the femininity of the others?? like she wasn’t really in a place to judge who is or isnt feminine and i would be kind of pissed if someone claimed they were more feminine than me after literally talking to me for a few minutes
The fact that they continuously voted Anandita put really bothered me she wasn’t getting defensive she was making good points about the fact that there is an inherent bias against femme lesbians in the the lesbian community and as soon as she asked a thought provoking question it got pegged as “too deep” she obviously had good points to make but wasn’t allowed to by a few of the consistent voters against her I’m glad Olive pointed out that it wasn’t cool that people kept voting for her
She just kept saying that she's not straight just because she's feminine though. Others like Madeline are femme but she never got voted out, I'd say Anandita got voted out cause she only talked about a single thing
@@-maquia- I understand what you're saying, but I really think that what Anandita was trying to describe was that she was not "dressed gay" enough. She still looked like a conservative straight Indian girl, and even the room she was in had no bold colours or any interesting items (like Isabelle's room, and whose appearance was also a recognisable style as a lesbian in media)
they literally pissed me off so bad when they kept coming after Anandita like that. like she opened up about how being Indian caused a lot of internalized homophobia and how she JUST came to terms and accepted herself recently and they completely invalidated her. meanwhile they automatically believed the masc presenting straight woman. they also got mad at her when she asked about their negative experiences with other lesbians but then proceeded to be toxic as fuck towards her and prove her point. femmes are totally not taken seriously in this community and it’s super invalidating and isolating.
To me, she appeared like flat and disconnected (trauma can cause that) and that maybe threw people off. Some also could not really grasp the reason fully.
she literally kept repeating the same thing and was reading off of a script and then immediately accused everyone of targeting her for being fem when almost everyone in the group was also fem. maybe she just got voted off for being bad at the game 🤷♀️

I do think that Anandita was reading off of a paper for her questions, but that's because she wanted to be prepared to tackle the truth and it's hard to memorize such in-depth questions. As a bi (maybe lesbian? idk I'm still figuring it out) Indian woman myself, I completely understand what she's talking about with compulsive heterosexuality. I feel so bad for her 🥺
I feel like there are obvious non-racial reasons for that. The indian girl was suspected because she was very feminine (plus the straight girl mole constantly targeted her), and the black girl still made it to the end in spite of being feminine and having those nails.
Can we stop bringing up race every single time as an excuse why someone was voted out/mistreated/ etc. This is a game, they literally have 15 seconds to answer, the race card shouldn't be automatically pulled out every chance possible to justify why someone got voted out. Stop victimizing POC on every single occasion, you are doing them no favor in this way.
ikr. I saw her bookshelf and was immediately like- yeah she's good (ntm the astrology). Also ngl, straight people using the term "queer" is kind of a delicate topic; if she was straight and actually studying those things she probably would have been more careful or weary of it.
I feel so sorry for Anandita, especially when so many ppl continue to write negative comments about her here. What she brought up was a valid point she experienced. Though I think she was really nervous. I could see her eye movement like reading from a script when she was asking or answering questions. I think that lack of spontaneity was what made others suspected her. She seemed unhappy at the end while others were kinda enjoying sisterhood. I mean, I would be upset too if I keep getting voted out and I feel like my point is not validated by those I hoped would understand. It upsets me so much how a white straight women was so hard-core on voting Anandita out. The way she was speaking on the poc, specifically indian experiences and no one cared to think about it or take it into account. I hope Anandita can find comfort and love from others in her life/community.
i kinda hate how they were targeting the baby lesbians. like, it's quite clear that it took them mad long to get to this point where they were comfy with themselves (and very recently too), only to be invalidated like that.... isabelle didn't even get voted once and that is so wack because everyone thinks that that's what a lesbian looks like.
Am I the only one really bothered that this was one of the few times I've seen South Asian lesbian representation and they immediately tried to vote her out? I understand it's a game, but Anandita's questions were actually quite thought-provoking, and rather than entertain it or provide their perspectives they undermine it...
Agreed, it’s disappointing and not fair at all. I also didn’t like Rachel comment about the two fem being voted out aka Anandita and her while Desire and Madeline seems pretty fem to me. But anyways, they proved Anandita’s point real quick.

@Sahil Patel I'd be negative too if my point kept being spoken over and if i was trying to ask a question(to play the game) but got completely ignored. It's good to talk about the negativity in the les community as it'd help weed out the mole + bring awareness.
@@jantovac81 probably because she fits the stereotype still. She’s white with dyed hair and unique makeup they wouldn’t vote her cause she’s still what they think a lesbian looks like
I definitely feel like the fact that they didn't see desire as one of the fem presenting ones even though she was completely feminine, is like deeply rooted in racial stereotypicalization, she dressed feminine but they still felt as if she presented as "masculine" or "agressive" without the intentions of it being that way. Typically because of the fact that most or let's say the "greater side" of black lesbians are "studs" or "hard" or "masculine" and she didn't really present that so they made the assumption that she could have been straight, or not a fem Les.
I have to agree. It all boils down to black women not being seen as gentle enough to fill out the typical feminine role. Even in a community as accepting as the LGBTQ+ one, the black woman is seen as more aggressive; therefore: masculine. Was it the other girls’ intentions to stereotype her? No. But it speaks to one of the many assumptions society has of black women.
"what's most disappointing is that it came down to the two most feminine people in the call" rachel and anandita. as a feminine bi woman, I felt that because people are often really surprised to find out I like women or they completely ignore it and act like I'm straight. I've been told I'm "faking my sexuality for attention" or to be "edgy". even though I have different experiences than them as lesbians, there's really not a lot of visibility in wlw culture for femme presenting people. anandita brought up a lot of very real struggles and things I know I've gone through and they dismissed her because she was a south asian femme.

I totally get where Anandita was coming from. She just recently came out, she's nervous. She's obviously not going to put herself out there and have a lot to say, not only because she recently came out, but because she explained her current situations with her family not being directly accepting of her or being raised to marry a man her whole life. It's something new to her, and to be honest, i'm disappointed that the others didn't really believe her or give her the time of day, even to guide her or give her words of encouragement as she 's new to the lgbtq+ community, which i'm sure she needed at the moment. Personally, no, I am not a feminine lesbian but I am aware that feminine lesbians exist and are just as important as anyone else, just like masculine gays. I also believe part of the voting out process was stereotypical seeing that she doesn't "look" like the common lesbian stereotypes, kinda like the opposite form Isabelle. That's partially because Anandita's a feminine lesbian. Another thing is that maybe since she recently came out and she's new to the community, she wants to start being feminine, then maybe she might not, because I've heard stories about that. Either way, it still diminishes her self esteem and probably makes people who are closeted feminine lesbians who are watching this video feel like they are less than or scared to come out. Idk man, it's wrong.
i know isabelle was ‘playing the role’ of the mole but the way she kept voting for anandita over and over again and saying ‘i have a weird feeling about her’ when she wasnt even a lesbian is weird..
The only one who I was SURE about was Madeline lol, I met her on omegle a while before this video came out and we talked for like an hour and a half about anything and everything. She was super sweet I love her 😭
i noticed that isabelle was more analyzing how people were putting across what they were saying rather than picking apart their stories and such, she went more off of strategy and technicality rather than experience or previous knowledge
anandita was my fav from the start I understand why she got defensive. if I struggled with being accepted because of how I presented + coming from a similar background I would be heated too if ppl didn't believe me
Wow this video made me really upset. With the way they were treating Anandita and Desire as inherently less queer for simply being feminine poc lesbians, the obviously strong stereotyping that allowed Isabelle to win simply because she had short hair and a collared shirt, Isabelle constantly saying she feels weird about Anandita for no reason(???), literally Madeleine saying “I trust her” just because she looked a certain way is so aggravating. Anandita was rightfully disappointed that she got voted out so early and the masc presenting straight girl won. It all fell together. This video is a perfect display of the stereotypes and intersectionality that exists even within the LGBTQ+ community.
I really feel for Anandita’s struggle. I am very femme and the classical lipstick lesbian and constantly get dismissed by the gay community and even friends of mine. My group of friends who have known me for years still question whether I’m only interested in women. I know most of it has to do with my appearance and it’s very invalidating.
People think fem beautiful women can't be lesbians. That they just haven't met the right man yet. I hate people who think that way. I have been told I was to pretty to be gay or what a waste. So have the women I dated. Really fucken annoying.
yeah, it's like they think POC can't be gay (unless they're masc). like we already get enough of that from our family. i've literally heard that being gay is a "white thing" growing up
Same thing happened in the teen mom one. The white girls voted out all the POC then stopped. I think saying they feel "suspicious" is just a way of saying they can't trust or relate to them. It's sad to see repeated over and over.

idk if its bc i relate to anadita the most or what, but seeing her leave so early after bringing up such important topics and trying to start discussions is so sad :/ love her
Ppl are attacking Anadita saying she’s annoying but she was really addressing an important bias. Unfortunately, I feel like her aggressiveness stemmed from being invalidated (b/c of her femininity) in the lesbian community. It’s obvious that how “masculine” you look played a major role in the game as the most unconventional ones got to stay in the game the entire time, rarely being questioned.
The issue with her was she was constantly accusing everyone of coming for her for looking femme- they never did that at all. I understand her frustration with how were treated but going at other peoples throats over it wasent cute
Masculinity didn’t play a “major role” in this game, though. Madeline, Desire, and Olive are all very feminine. Just because they may not be as conventionally/traditionally feminine or “attractive” as rachel and anandita are, that doesn’t make them any less feminine. They’re just a bit more creative with the way they express their femininity. That’s not to mention that Black women tend to be perceived as “masculine” just for their Afrocentric features (ex. wider nose, bigger lips, athletic bodies, “shorter” hair from their shrinkage, etc.) so it could also be offensive when viewed from that lens.
Btw I liked Anandita a lot lol I just didn’t like the way her and rachel were the self-proclaimed “most feminine” when they rlly weren’t. I’d be offended if I were Desire tbh
@@FaerieElethia I agree, that’s literally the point I’m trying to make. I’m not saying they ARE masculine but Desire, Olive, Mad, and Isabel are not conventionally/traditionally “feminine” compared to the girls with the softer features/voice, more makeup and lighter hues. People assume that makes them “more likely” to be lesbian because they don’t (or want to) look like the stereotypical woman that a man desires. This is a societal problem that lesbians themselves have internalized as displayed in the game
The first ones who don't fit the stereotype are always voted out first. On the other hand, being a femme lesbian is a double-edged sword. At the same time, only femme presenting lesbians are shown in movies and also femme lesbians are the least visible group. Bias towards every group exists, in my community, there's way more bias towards butch lesbians than femme ones. For example, I heard from multiple people: "why date someone who doesn't look like a girl."

And they probably honestly didnt suspect her because she wasnt fem and aesthetically "fit in". Exactly what the first girl voted out said. But damn did that girl play the game to win! She was voting with strategy 😂
No they voted her out because she was acting really defensive and snappy and it is harder to cast your vote on someone who is super nice to you. So mostly lack of better options.
@@jamietheangryoctopus5938 Treating her? It was a game where you were supposed to question people’s sexuality. And there was a mole who got a bit worried when moving into sensitive areas that she did not have experience with so she diverted the conversation. Nobody was treating her badly really. I think the way the cut the vid made it seem more dramatic than it was because I saw Anandita had commented in the thread that she did not think she was voted out because she was femme, it was just her defense when put on the spot.
@@missylarsson3517 It was her defense because that’s what she believed everyone was brushing her off for. She got defensive, as some people, including myself, do. She was saying what she thought needed to be said, and they were brushing it off, so she kept saying it so they would HEAR it, and take it in.
@@jamietheangryoctopus5938 She raised a lot of good points which people AGREED with her on. Rachel is nodding profusely as she was saying these things, none were dismissive. None were treating her badly. They were questioning her (and pretty much everyone) on very loose grounds because that is the premise of the game. The only thing was that THE MOLE didn’t want to go into the topic of discrimination/invalidation within the lgbtq-community as she had no experience with it and wriggled her way out of it. And there could be other reasons for not wanting to talk about that topic (or some other heavy topic such as issues with families accepting it or whatnot) so it is also perfectly fine to divert the conversation. Anandita kept pushing for it (which is fine) but that is the main reason why she got voted out, not because of the way she looks. I feel like too many in the comment section forgot the premise of the video - which is to question people and vote them out. It is nothing personal and is often based on a coin flip or something very vague a person says or does. Like I said, Anandita herself said she didn’t think that being femme was the reason she got voted out. Just the comment section making it into a big deal. And the topic itself is a big deal and I agree with Anandita - still she was not voted out because she was femme.
Was it just me that didn't find Anandita annoying at all? I actually found it really refreshing that she was so passionate about the way the community treats femme presenting lesbians (and the way they dismissed it and redirected the question when she wanted to have a discussion about it just proved her point).
Same I think she wasn’t that bad. Maybe she just felt attacked/emotional because people like Isabelle kept gunning for me. Kinda annoying that everyone in the comments keep piling on Anandita.

What you mean that “caught on”? They just said it. It’s obvious that the mole will go along with the others. Its not like Anandita wasn’t being voted out by more people too from the start...
Indeed. I definitely thought Anandita was not the mole.
It's interesting that Anandita kept saying that just because she's feminine-presenting doesn't make her any less of a lesbian and got voted out, yet the mole was more masculine-presenting, gained the trust of everyone, and won.
This video had a lot of interesting take aways... one of the best odd man out videos in many different aspects

How was it invalidated? Most of them agreed with her, Rachel showed it very clearly that she agreed.
I was so mad for anandita the whole time it was so obvious it wasn’t her by how defensive and upset she was getting
Yup
I definitely feel like the fact that they didn't see desire as one of the fem presenting ones even though she was completely feminine, is like deeply rooted in racial stereotypicalization, she dressed feminine but they still felt as if she presented as "masculine" or "agressive" without the intentions of it being that way.
Typically because of the fact that most or let's say the "greater side" of black lesbians are "studs" or "hard" or "masculine" and she didn't really present that so they made the assumption that she could have been straight, or not a fem Les.
I would say desire is even more fem presenting as rachel but because she’s a black somebody we aren’t seen as feminine unless is it’s hyper feminine
right! like look at her nails/accessories. she is at the same fem level as rachel at least look wise
I agree. Desire was actually my first guess for the mole tho lol
Exactly

But it's the point to question each other.
