Oh my goodness!!! That. Is. BEAUTIFUL!! That's a lovely example of a classic Sheffield Barlow. The bolster isn't as long as most from Böker or Case, but still a lot longer than say, an A. Wright Lambsfoot or similar non-Barlow jack. The Bocote is 'Wunderschöne'! I need a piece! I like my Mays, despite them all having some flaws here and there. The Ettrick is probably my favourite, obviously. 😅 But they're all equally extravagant! Cheers!

(My favourite!) The May is Elm, which is very rustic and charming. Oak would be the same! I'd love to see your full Sheffield collection! Particularly Ettricks! Any excuse to buy another Sheffield knife...then again, I rarely NEED an excuse! 😁 I hope you're doing well. cheers!

I know, dude. I watched it. I'm fiercely biased. M.May is one of the few knife makers we have. He's, in my opinion, really talented. I've had no complaints from him so far, and if I do, I will show it. Ive heard of a few flaws in his knives. But what hes offering at the prices I'm always willing to have one. I'm happy when people show flaws. It helps everyone. You have probably had more knives in your hands than most, which makes you a good ambassador for us all. Jersey, you're a legend, mate! I've had this Barlow in English Oak for a few years and it's perfect. I love the 01 steel and the file work.
I think it's well worth the price.
