How to fix iMovie error in Mac

Ever encountered an error in opening iMovie library? I had this experience and my app store says 'no updates available'. I recently migrated from macbook pro to mac mini leveraging time machine. Setup went smoothly except for the core apps, iMovie specially as I used it a lot. If you are having the same error, you might find this video helpful.
