The third story is so dumb, it physically pains me. If you heard the man in your back yard, why would you just go into your room and try to sleep, instead of, I don't know, calling the freaking POLICE? At least file a report that you're being stalked and give a discription of the man at the police station, just so that they have it on record! And for those are going to say that she couldn't call the police coz she'd get busted for being high, I think the police would be more concerned about a stalker than a random kid getting high. Even if you do get fined or whatever for being high, not calling the police because of that isn't going to help you if you end up dead.
Also, fourth story? If you see flashes of light at night, in a house which you are supposed to be alone in, you don't try to cry yourself to sleep, you call the police, even if you're not sure of what you saw. Better safe than sorry. And also, what kind of dumbass parents leave an eleven year old at home alone for a weekend?! Especially the kind that doesn't even know that you're supposed to alert the authorities when you think someone is in the house you're supposed to be alone in.
Fifth story has either got to be completely fake as duck, or the OP's family is really stupid. When your kid tells you they saw someone out the basement window, watching them, you never EVER brush it off, because why the hell would a child lie about something like this. Even if they did lie, it's not worth not looking into. Also, why don't they have curtains over their windows? Anyone walking down the street can look at your kid and take pictures. Like, what?!

You do know that people tend to make really bad decisions while they're high, right? Especially if they get paranoid about getting busted or something. Most likely the person in the story just assumed that it was nothing (or that they are hearing things), that they were just high and decided not to call the police so they wouldn't get busted.

Yes, because your first thought as an eleven year old girl scared out of her mind that somebody is in her house is to call the police. Right.
Sure, you would do it now. I doubt you'd be so gutsy as an eleven year old home alone hearing noises. You probably wouldn't even think of the police for the first 5-10 min. You'd just think where to run / hide and where your parents are.
And that's another thing. Why would somebody leave an 11-year old child at home alone during the night? Well, maybe they just want to go out for a few hours and they don't have the luxury of living in a rich country where the entire middle class can just afford a nanny that they can call 24 / 7, ever think of that?
You're a very paranoid person if you think that leaving an 11-year old home alone for a few hours is too much.

Maybe the child has a tendency to make up stories. Also plenty of houses don't have curtains. Not every parent is thinking about perverts taking pictures of their children through the windows. You are quite the paranoid one, aren't you?
I mean, according to you, if you were to walk in a house with children and saw that they had no curtains you would immediately think about perverts taking pictures of them through the glass. That's not a healthy way of life.
Creepypasta is Bae I agree with you. Who leaves their 11 yr. old alone for a weekend. They weren't even there the next morning yet when she finally called the cops.I had trouble believing a few of these stories.

Children are taught at a young age basic safety things by family & school, such as when & how to call the police & how to escape your home in a fire. Of course fear kicks in & clouds judgment, especially for the inexperienced [kids, the privileged, the naïve, etc]. Practice drills at school are meant to train kids so that safety & the right actions are default instead of panic & the wrong actions. But just bc fear clouds anyway, doesn't make the decisions less stupid, just understandable.
Also, it's not paranoid or unhealthy to think if perverts when seeing un-curtained windows. It happens, & better safe than sorry. But it also shows clearly what's in your home & when you are or aren't there, which makes your home easier to rob. On a slightly different note, you could even be accused of & charged with indecent exposure in your own home if a passerby happens to see you. I don't remember the case number or the holding of the example from class years ago, but it happened.

Well, one could argue that getting high was the stupidest decision of the bunch, seeing how it's at fault for the person not taking any decisive actions. Additionally, if you're high on illegal drugs, you don't want to be around the police or let them enter your apartment.
Therefore, you only call the police when you absolutely have to. Hearing a couple of noises outside does not constitute as such a threat because, guess what? It could just be the fact that you're high and hallucinating. Or misinterpraeting some other non-related noises due to being paranoid because you're high. It happens. A lot. So it didn't happen in this story, but I'll bet you that the other 99 times this happened, it was just the person being high.

Yeah, it's real easy being captain hindsight to an 11 year old child, isn't it? Of course it was a stupid decision, everybody makes them and kids do so far more due to a lack of life experience. The things is, most adults likely wouldn't call the police right away either.
That's because we always assume these things won't happen to us so, when they do, we have a hard time believing it until we have to.
"Oh, I'm just high" "Oh, it's just some car outside." Simple explanations that result in you feeling safe again. Until you don't, because something is actually coming for you.
That's when most people call the police. When they're 100% sure that something bad is about to go down and that they can't handle it on their own. Not when they see a light or hear a shuffling noise outside.
Sure it's stupid. So is calling the police every time you see a light outside your house because, guess what, maybe it is a fucking car or a drunken couple of teenagers or something. Or maybe you are just high and if you call the police you might get screwed.

Sure, so while it should be considered, your first thoughts upon seeing a window of this nature shouldn't be "perverts could be watching you through this window." It's like walking down a street and every time you pass under a balcony you think to yourself "this balcony could fall apart above me and kill me." Possible, unlikely, should be considered, certainly not something you should think every time you're under a balcony.

And getting high might kill you, depending on the substance you're using. If we're talking about weed, it kills your motivation and work ethics and you're (slightly) more likely to find yourself in a life threatening situation as a result of smoking weed due to a lack of judgement. But I don't see you bitching about that. Why? Because the OP didn't mention it. Is it better to have curtains on your windows? Of course. Does everybody then need to have curtains on their windows and is immediately stupid for not having them? No. It's one stupid decision made by regular people. You being captain hindsight now does nothing for anybody. Obviously they understand now that this is stupid and so does anybody else listening to the video.
