Honestly,I love watching PPMD. From what I've seen, he's among one of the least salty players I've ever watched. Every time he loses a stock, he nods. It's as though he recognizes, "I fucked up there, that's my bad", or "That was really well executed by the other person". Also when he misplayed and Leffen got him with the up smash, I gotta admit, I would have been *suuuper* salty. Being that close to victory and fucking it up? I'd lose it. PPMD just laughs. A lot.

That was a great match with some hilarious and efficient combos, both Leffen and PPMD were laughing their asses off.
It's dying this year sadly, the only majors so far have been Genesis 3 and beast 4 which only 2 of the 6 gods went to. Next one is pound 2016 which is in 2 months. Then ceo and evo. Looks like summer is the only season melee is alive this year

Smash doesn't even have an official ranking system. Nintendo just wanted it to be a family game, not a competitive cliche. What they didn't realize is that it can be both, yet, they don't want it to be.
I'm pretty sure people hated him because they had already grown so fond of the big 5. So when this new dude started coming out acting so cocky it was really easy to hate on him. But now he's definitely gained a lot of respect through his play.

I hate when people bring personality into competition discussions. Like, regardless of what Leffen may have said or done in the past, 1) it's in the past when he was more immature, 2) he apologized for it, and most importantly: Smash is not about which person can be the nicest. In fact, no sport is about being the nicest. The victory goes to those who put in the countless hours and dedicate themselves to becoming the best in the world. Leffen beat the 5 gods, and he deserves all the recognition he gets because he worked for it, plain and simple. The fact that people still want to call him "evil" or a "villain" is just stupid. The same thing happened when Mayweather and Pac fought. People were all like "I don't care if Mayweather won, he's an asshole, Pac is the true hero and winner in my eyes!" Bullshit. You either win or you lose - all this other good guy, bad guy nonsense is just people whining because they don't want to give credit where credit is due.

These people might play games for a living, but they are celebrities with a public image within their community. Like it or not, sports make money through spectatorship and sponsorship. Both of those things are affected by how the players act inside and outside of the game. M2K used to get a lot of shit from his sponsors over the way he behaved in public. Nobody is going to ignore how shitty Leffen (or any other player) behaved just because it's outside of the game.

So it's feasible that if Axe or Lucky play out of their mind or the IC players pick a different character then their could be a second god slayer. Not to mention that every tournament now there are more and more upsets. The gods can't hold their throne forever and I doubt Leffen will be the only one to prove that.
