I agree! My ex was Indian and his mum didn’t like me at all, I tried so hard to make an effort with her but no matter what I did nothing was ever good enough for her, I even began trying to learn some Hindi so we could communicate better, I understood that I wasn’t what she imagined for her son but I hoped she would overcome that. Eventually I had enough and told him he needed to put his foot down with her, i understand the different cultures but she was beyond rude and I didn’t deserve to be treated that way. Needless to say he couldn’t defend me and we broke up lol.

@@lavender1187 I’m assuming you’re not Indian. I can understand the parents perspective on wanting whats best for their children, but come on, we’re all adults here, let’s behave like adults.

@@stormtrooper_kveasty I’m Scottish and I totally agree! I never wanted to cause any problem with him and his family, but my perspective was that was someone I loved and I wouldn’t have allowed someone to treat him badly, So I expected the same in return really, As you said we were all adults and should have acted like that. I got a lucky escape I reckon 🤣

    • @stormtrooper_kveasty

@@lavender1187 nice! I’m kind of in the same predicament with my girlfriend. It’s not a race/culture thing like you experienced, but more of a “her mom doesn’t trust me with her daughter” . I’m a very transparent guy, I’m very respectful but for whatever reason, I can feel she dislikes me. She probably expects her daughter to date this 6-figure income guy with his life together but I’m still in the process of establishing my career. Regardless her mom has too much power over our relationship and after 3 years of dating, I’ve had enough. I’m stuck. Lol. Btw , I’m 29 and my gf is 25, going on 26. But I feel like she treats us like we’re a teen couple.

    • @lavender1187
      @lavender1187 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@stormtrooper_kveasty I’m so sorry you’re in that situation too! It’s extremely hard to deal with, It causes a lot of stress and anxiety.. Her mum should be happy that her daughter has someone who loves and cares about her, Money isn’t everything and I understand parents wanting the best for their children, But I don’t think they actually realise what is the best thing for them. You’re both adults and she needs to start treating you both like that, Have you spoken to your gf about how you’re feeling? If not I suggest sitting down and talking about how unhappy this is making you, 3 years is a long time. I understand it’s not that easy for your gf, but if she lets her mum continue to have control over your relationship then she will lose you and she wouldn’t want that to happen, so unfortunately she needs to take a stand however tough that is. Her mum needs to realise that her daughter is an adult and not a child anymore and can make her own decisions. I wish you both the best of luck. I hope things get better for you 😊

This looks like the same thing that is happening to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and the British.
She took their precious Prince from them the day she married him, since then its be hell for her.
They left royalty and Britain yet, they still involved his wife in every story about the royals. With stuff, like Will And Kate, visited a hospital today, and Meghan Markle said Kate stole her look.
Poor, Meghan is minding her own business back in America.
This mother totally reminds me of the British. And I saw it, since the day, the press let it be known, that Prince Harry is dating and Biracial woman with a black mother from the ghetto, which is a lie, Meghan's black mom, has always been middle class. Humble and hard working mother that never asked Meghan's dad for alimony. While his white ex wife from 45 years ago was still demanding money from Meghan crazy father.
But its Meghan and her black mother that the British hates the most.
Although she give them a red headed blues grandson.
How much more CAUCASIAN can you get, when you're born with pale skin, red hair and blue eyes...?
Why are these folks so mad.?
They hate the fact that her mother is a black women.
So they are determined too DESTROY her, for daring to say yes, to their precious pale prince, Whose the best of the whole royal family, in my book and that is not say much. Imagine, Meghan's royal aids were lying to the press about their boss.
As William and Kate, keep meeting with that past employee, PUBLICLY up too last month, 2years after they stopped Working for Meghan. VERY EXTREME.
While Harry keeps, making it clear, keep messing with my wife, and he'll tell EVERYTHING HE KNOWS.

Please read my above individual comment.
There might be more that meets the eye. I’ve realized that it might not be the typical thing everyone might think it is (mother-in-law being mean to the soon to be daughter-in-law). There are lots of situations where the girl is playing everyone and the mother could tell. There are two types of people, one where they want to be part of the family, the other one where they just want to take someone away from the family so that they have full control over them. The second type only cares about their own feelings and what they want and unwilling to share the son).

    • @t_n_rasberry8387
      @t_n_rasberry8387 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I feel in here the girl is the instigator and then turns around and pretend to be the innocent one to tear the family even further apart. The mother could be saying “why can’t I have a peaceful bday?” … Or a gift from only you (my son) …with her tantrums (it could be a cry for help from being bullied and imposed on).
Imagine your worst enemy showing up at your party uninvited and then pretends to play innocent when you kick them out. saying to other people, “look at how mean he is”.
Instigating problems just so that they can reap the rewards of getting a gullible person to believe them by making someone else look like a mean person.

@@t_n_rasberry8387 I think you are wrong here. this mother is clearly just way too attached to her son (she even said he belongs to her and she will always be his #1). some might would call it emotional incest (wanting to spend valentine's day with her son and being upset that he wanted to spent it with his gf). In many cultures sons are important to have bc they will be the next head of family and will take care of the parents and everything, but this woman's attachment to her son goes way beyond that.

My mother-in-law, God rest her soul, actually gave me strict orders on how to make my first Thanksgiving dinner that I was going to cook myself. I had just had a baby 3 weeks prior. I worked hard to follow her requests while still making a meal with flavor (She rarely used spices when cooking, food was usually dry and bland). I stayed up all night with a newborn, basting my turkey and baking.
She came in, took my food out of the oven and put her ENITRE meal that she had prepared in. When I stared at her in shock, she said she could tell I couldn't cook because I don't have proper cooking utensils. As she walked out of the kitchen, my brother quickly and quietly removed the knife I was holding from my hand and hugged me. My husband made a really big deal to let me know how delicious the salad was. I smiled and told him it was a bagged salad, I didn't do anything.
My father-in-law, the reason I was given such a strict dietary guidance, ended up eating only my food and none of hers. She did all she could to ruin my Thanksgiving because I wanted to try to stay home and cook just once since she didn't want me to cook anything at her house.
We finally got past that and I loved her dearly, but I will never forget the most awkward Thanksgiving ever!

@@fatearamines6848 I agree, no one should subject themselves to this hate!
It's sad for the man that his mother must either control him and run his whole life, or she will make his life hell and make him feel ashamed and threaten to DIE and blame him for causing her death if he leaves to go live his own life.
It's sad for him, *but it's not fair of him to expect his fiancé to suffer the brunt of his mother's abuse for him.* He's using his fiancé as a human shield against his mother. He needs to see a counselor to help him deal with his mother, instead of putting it all on his fiancé. I use to use my X's to protect me against my narcessistic mother too. So I understand why he's doing it. But it's not ok to just keep doing that. He's going to have to put much stronger boundaries on his mother.
I know what it's like to have to put boundaries on a narcessistic mother. It's actually terrifying. They will come for you in every way they can. They will really try to destroy you. But you have to stand strong. It's not easy.
His mother will cut him off from his father and the rest of his entire family if he chooses to go against her. She will smear her own son's reputation and forbid any family members to even talk to him. (Unless she sends them to do her bidding, of course.) They all fear what she will do to them, so they will comply. He will be ostracized. That's why he's kissing her ass. Because he fears losing all his loved ones.
I understand why he is trying to kiss up to her to avoid all that, because my mother did the same to me. My entire family will not talk to me, except to try to do my mother's bidding and to send me insidious messages from her. "Are you ever going to talk to your mother? She could die and then you'd regret it."
But my mother is the one who chose this, by making all her threats and accusations. I only chose to get away from all her toxicity. I had to accept that if I chose to live my own life free of her control and judgment, then I would lose my entire family right along with my mother. It's a very difficult thing to accept.
Basically, this man needs to accept that he can't change his mother. Either it's her way or the highway. He chose freedom from her. So he needs to just go and be free and quit trying to kiss her ass. Let her keep lying and being dramatic. That's on her. Nomatter how much she tries to put it on him.

May be Indian, May be Pakistani, May be Afghan, Lets not stereotype. 2. The woman (Girlfriend) clearly belongs to different ethnicity and possibly religion. Being a South Asian I can clearly see why the mother has a problem 'Sanskaar' that roughly translates to cultural affinity. I don't support her approach of disrespecting the girlfriend but the older generation grew up in an environment of constant brainwashing on Cultural values rather than teaching personal liberty. When these people move to 1st world they clearly have a problem in embracing western ideas and protest when their son or daughter does this. No amount of education, money or status can teach this, it has to come from within.

it has to do with culture, tradition and religion sometimes. It’s not only indian, some parents want their kids to marry their own kind or people from their countries especially same ethnic or religion.Culture and tradition have a lot to do with it

Hence why Indian families fragment and seperate, the sons/daughters distance themselves from the family due to trauma and being tired of dealing with it, or the sons and daughters become just like their parents and the cycle starts all over again.

Hard to hold the father accountable when the only reasonable way to deal with people like the mother where you have any power in a conflict with someone so manipulative is to leave them. As you can see, she's perfectly capable of respecting others, making friends, sustaining a marriage of many years but she also has the ability to be incredibly vindictive and manipulative in unexpected ways. This is why a man always needs a prenup. Leaving is a man's best leverage and he needs the power to do it without her being able to use it against him.

I hate to be all Dr. "Blame the man" Phil, here, but if that guy sitting next to the mom is Shekeb's father, he needed to step in and deal with his wife's stupid mouth. His son should never be treated that way by his parents, and treating Emily like that reflects horribly on the whole family.
Just FYI, my cousin's mom never accepted his love for his wife. She sees him maybe once a year now if she's lucky. Men are not going to deal with this level of michigas.
