The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. This show was great for one of 1000 reasons, and Fred was bigoted towards everyone. And he didn’t discriminate against anyone, which made for thousands of laughs. One of the best shows in television history.

I like how the white dentist when after examining Fred's mouth said "that's ugly." That was after earlier in the episode Bubba gave Fred a homemade remedy after examining Fred's mouth and Bubba said "that's ugly."
The guy was simply hilarious.Imagine if Fred was under anesthesia and woke up only to find Aunt Esther working on his teeth.

Back in that age , older Black people knew that white people more than likely went to the better universities ,while a black doctor or dentist went to a unknown school and assumed the white person got a better education and knew all the latest procedures and trained by the best instructors
That is so true My mother and her two siblings grew up in segregated Jim Crow Louisiana in the 1920s&1930s They all were born at home assisted by midwives.There were segregated facilities for Blacks but there was virtually no funding from the federal,state or local government so they were not up to par to the white facilities.The state really didn't give a damn whether the staff at the Black facilities were qualified or not.It really wasn't the state's concern whether Blacks lived or died anyway at that time.So my mother's family relied on home remedies to survive.To her dying day,my mother trusted no doctor Black, White,this that or the other.Redd Foxx was a comedic genius.And it's apparent he incorporated his own life experiences into these episodes to create hilarity for the ages.
