About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

"Big Money Grip" (Sonny Jim Gaines) was one of Redd Foxx's childhood friends from St. Louis. Redd Foxx knew how to help a brotha out 🤜🏿🤛🏿
He was better as Sweet Meat!
Redd Foxx did that a lot. He helped out more friends than people know. He was really a great guy. The fucking IRS killed him. They put so much stress on him that his heart finally gave out.......(smoking 3 packs a didn't help).

Completely agree. I’m 20, but I love this show. I have all of the seasons on DVD. I wish that my generation was more interested in this time period along with the music. May Redd Foxx, Whitman Mayo and LaWanda Page Rest In Peace. Amazing actors/actress. I will be sure to share the laughter that came from this show to my future children

All the time. One of the funniest shows ever. Seen most every episode 10 times over. And still laugh every time I watch it. Me and my daddy love watching it. All in the family. Alot of those old shows are better then the new shows are on today.

Iam from the Middle East and when i was in the USA in 1998 studying I saw an episode accidentally on tv and since then cant stop watching it. And i got to say Redd fox is a comedian by nature

They just took Lamont, Fred, Grady and Esther and put them into the actual audience seats and put those two guys on the set.

I remember these..all of these and the original airings!! They were great!! However, it is unfortunate that certain parts of the original dialog have been dubbed over.
