I'm spanish, and i know very well the roads that you passed, you have taken the toll highway to Zaragoza coming from Cataluña, it's too expensive so people (and most of the truckers) use the free N-2, so it's normal that you don't see many trafic until you arrive to Zaragoza, by the way, that area is a desert, yes a desert, in fact it was used to race the Baja Aragón-España with Dakar cars, obviously doesn't have sands but it's very dry and dusty in summer. When you go to Soria, you were passing the "Empty Spain", there's all abandoned, there's no industry and no future in that lands, the middle of Spain is suffering hard times, all people have to go to Madrid if they want a better life because Madrid has all the potential, nobody wants to invest in these areas. Soria is the smallest capital town in Spain, the Region is Castilla y León and that region discovered America (end of the historical lesson)...but now, we only have old buildings, churches and many castles...a big area which have only potential for cultural tourism, because we don't have beaches. Anyway, congratulations for the video, and be safe! by the way, beautiful Scania!!!

Just watched the comment about post codes. I hope you take notice of the fact that many places in SPain don't even have a postal address never mind a post code! We get our mail delivered by the post office to a post box - one of 20 on the wall outside of our village bar, so the address is surname followed by the village/town where we live. Once the postman realises where you are you get mail! Parcels by the post office or courier no chance unless of course you also set up a p.o box with a local business, ours costs us 60€ a year, but at least its a recognised address with a 50% chance of reeiving parcels.
NED, Thanks for the wonderful video, for your info: those huge black bulls dominating the Spanish landscape are originally billboards from the Spanish Osborne company who are in Jerez and make sherry and other spirits. In the nineties the local Spanish government tried to get a ban on these, but the after protest of the Spanish people they are now officially listed as cultural Spanish heritage, but in Catalunya the region where Barcelona is in, they break them down as they are see them as something Spanish. In the old days when I was on the road in a Hanomag Henschel truck there was one on the outskirts of La Junquera on the old N11 , we always agreed hat besides the usually pleasant weather, this was the best landmark showing that you were in Spain.

Ned, at 1:01:40 Yo was pasing for the perfect spot to have a rest until the next day... Los Navarros it's a well known service area among the spanish truckers. The time i was there with my dad i was shocked to see that they even have a gym for the truckers XDDD. At the next video of this series you also pass away another of the most famous (maybe the most famous) service area while you was going down to Barcelona, The service area of Alfajarín it's loose some of his popularity amongst the truckers cause since it's on the middle of the road from Barcelona to Madrid it's a regular stop for the long distance busses that make this trip and it can be a little crowded if a bus arrives there with 90 prople and you're in a hurry, anyway it provides moore services to the truckers than most of the other areas i.e. they even have laundry machines and dryers (pretty usefull if you was in a 2 weeks journey as you made in the italy series and you're running out of clean clothes). About Catalonia, which it's the part i know better, you have "la Panadella" area, they was pretty famous in the past before they make the motorway and everybody has to go through the old national road. Anyway as both roads run paralel when the make the motorway they make an exit to la Panadella wich it's only about 3 min away the motorway and have a very nice access in and out the motorway. They have a lot of space to rest and good food (as a curiosity it's common sense in Spain when you're traveling to a place that you don't know and you wants to eat sell on the road, to stop at places packed with trucks. Since the spanish truckers are well known here to have an internal radar to find places with good food and not expensive). For the diesel maybe your company have some place that make a discount if you fill the tank there, if no the Guissona company gas stations are the cheapest ones. They started as a meat company and compound feed for the animals and they have a fleet of moore that 700 trucks to deliver his products, anyway as they have such a large fleet they decided to enter in the bussines of gas distribution also to provide fuel for his drivers, mainly in Aragon and Catalonia. Obviously his drivers gets a cost price nad the price for the rest it's a little moore expensive, but they keep the prices as low as it's possible in order to sell as most diesel as they can and get better discounts to buy it in large bulks. Anyway it's a shame that they don't have moore and cheap ferrys from Ireland and Uk to spain, i think they have someones from the Uk to Bilbao, but for Ireland i don't know. As a curiosity mu uncle get the ferrys often than you even they make only national journeys, since they make the route to Mallorca island.
neddy could you please make a video about how much space your truck has inside to ....sleep....ahm....eat ....and exercise a little? damn dear you shouldn't neglect that. having some years of medical background i gotta tell you MUST do that a little....just a little. like 30 min a day period. that's a huge difference from being almost passive to slightly active. belive me...you'll feel better...have much strenght....high patience....less back pain, less body fat, stroke preventive, heart saving and whatnot.i'd like also to see where exactly you're stopping for the 45 min break and what about the 11 hours rest? i'm not being a professor....i just wanna help out a little a tough, nice guy like you. and by the way i really wanna see you and moe chatting for another 100 years man! a big hug from italy

The coast of Spain and the big cities are overcrowded but then we have the sad reality of the empty Spain with no inhabitants and no future... and a lot of history being slowly destroyed by the pass of time. Very sad. Compared to the lovely Ireland where people live literaly in every corner of the island, I understand that it might shock you. By the way, I follow your chanel. Not only helps me to practice my english but to get to know your job. Amazing. My wife works in SALVAT LOGISTICA... you've been there many times as I can tell by your videos. In fact I showed her your image and she recognized you. If she sees you again she'll try to stop to say hello.

When I was driving big trucks I always drove them as though I was driving a Scud Missile Carrier and the one thing you never want to do is be involved in any accident which involves the explosive force of a live Scud Missile.
