Water color, cover and shad flicking the top of the water all tell me it could be a good creek. You want some stain to the water but you don't want it chocolate milk either if that makes sense
I'm localish to you (by Texas standards lol), and you're right about us not getting any real cold yet. I'm gonna make a real effort to hit the creeks more this winter. Good luck bud!
Nice video, I just moved to Texas and really want to catch some crappies from the shore, too. Yep, I don't have a boat. So for the creek fishing, I have a question. Should I go after the natural creeks or even the creek that starts as a spillway would work just fine?
They're in the feeder creeks cause they stay a little warmer than the lake and the shad move into the creeks. Spillway isn't really warmer cause it's cold water from the lake discharging.
Man ibe been neglecting the creeks around here funny thing biggest crappie ive ever caught was outta the creek i need to fish them soon ....good vid man nice change of pace 👍
Have you checked out the north side of Ray Roberts yet? I was out there this last weekend pulling crappie in the pound and half range at buck creek. Lots of smaller ones but several really nice ones.
Hey Kid, have you thought doing a video on catching rainbow trout. The Texas of division, fish and wildlife is stocking rainbow trout at all these creeks around the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Saturday I went to Caruth Park in University Park, and cut me some nice rainbow trout. It’s real fun and they’re good eating too.
Looking like dinner Is on, they're moving around some over here too, a little bit of inconsistency you have to look some up, Smaller ones I've seen a Few more of Than The Biguns, I've seen the better ones on stumps or logs, No big groups yet that I've seen,if they're active you catch a few if they just chase I Try a different jig or two on my rods already rigged for that reason but If they don't respond just keep looking , We Been Cool At night 40s but days are still low to mid 80s , water is cooling down some but it's still bouncing around Too, it'll settle down , we need Rain Too But hopefully not a big flood Out , keep it Reelin brother,,, 🐟🐡🎣🤠🇺🇸
Word of advice, glad you moved in the beginning of video, Crappie don't like current, and tie your stringer to a stick or log si you don't lose your catch, The Big Red can means you Are from around the Ohio Valley I presume. KEEP ON FISHING
👍

Thanks for watching! I do best in feeder creeks where the water feeds a major lake
They're in the feeder creeks cause they stay a little warmer than the lake and the shad move into the creeks. Spillway isn't really warmer cause it's cold water from the lake discharging.
Plus in spillways it's local river fish or fish that sucked out of the lake. The feeders have lake fish that move in from the main lake.
Man ibe been neglecting the creeks around here funny thing biggest crappie ive ever caught was outta the creek i need to fish them soon ....good vid man nice change of pace 👍
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I have to force myself to check them out at times
Have you checked out the north side of Ray Roberts yet? I was out there this last weekend pulling crappie in the pound and half range at buck creek. Lots of smaller ones but several really nice ones.
