    The sd40-2 f is pretty awesome. Shortlines like this are extremely appealing for rail fans. Lived in Maine for a while, been in Idaho for some years now. Miss Maine and Quebec.

      The Central Maine & Quebec (CMQ) was just recently bought by Candian Pacific.

      @@capefeartrainsandsirens nope Canadian national offered a higher bid but it has not been fully confirmed that CN owns KCS

    I've seen a bunch of these locomotives on CP Rail lines in Alberta. They tend to keep the older paint schemes around for a extremely long time, I even see the occasional Soo line train go by.

    Some of these CMQs and only three of the ac44’s has been into NS but they have not never lead a NS train

    What are the changes expected for this railway and it's rolling stock after being bought by CP? Are this locomotives and it's livery gonna stay like this?

      Currently all of the locomotives have transferred over to CP. Most of the GP38-2/-3 fleet will be going to NBSR/MNR. The B23's were sold off, and I think the SD40-2 was as well. The box cars, bulkhead flats, and hopper cars have mainly been transferred over to CP. CP has scrapped the entirety of the exMMA and exBAR log rack fleet since they aren't interested in doing the short haul log business that CMQ had. They have also scrapped a number of bad ordered cars, rather than repair them.
