If you don't know the void cube parity alg, simply make a Uw move and start again from the second layer on. The reason for void cube parity is that your center holes are not in the correct position and you need to turn 4 of them by 90 degrees. This means M (or M') is okay, too. Then you don't have to fix F2L but only 2 cross edges. Great situation for Roux solvers though.
But can you do center shift and get a possible pll case? I would not understand if center shift would work because it “shifts” only the centers and doesn’t change the corners or edges.
You need to invest in some 4-sided Dice. 3d4 is fairer and lower variance than 2d6 (even 3d4-1 is better). Less likely to get those really big or really small numbers.

I don't use cfop (i only know how to do basics F2L, i don't know OLL and PLL), i've used the begininer method, because of that, i've spend less time being confused where my pieces were on the cube, because i've just placed them one by one. I really think, using the beginer method is the best for the shape mods when you're not used to them. It was a fun challenge to try ! :) Now... i really should start to learn the Square-1...
I've tried solving a 3x3 with no centers (simulated void cube)... I got center parity EVERY time. Congratulations for getting that close! I couldn't make heads or tails of it
So I just tought my friend how to solve a 3x3 and then he bought what he thought was a mirror cube/blocks but it was actually a windmill cube and now he can solve that faster than a 3x3 😂
you could've saved the void, by knowing the end of beginners method, you honestly didnt even need to know what color is in the middle, since you can make it any color since its black.
You get parity on a 3x3 if you solve your cross on any side that isnt yellow or white, meaning blue, red centers, etc... Way to fix it is by building cross one away from that, either to the right or the top. If you go up and still have parity then go to the left or right.
By the way, the final parody you had on the void cube was a pretty easy fix, here it is R,U',R,U, R, U, R, U', R', U', R2, when you do that, you will have 1 face solved out of them so you face that one away and do it until it is solved.

tips: when you get a parity on void cube, just change a center to be white (if you are white color based)
The void cube is just like a 3x3 and a 4x4 with out the centers and the is parity!

Everytime you're unsure about the case, just use the beginner algs. They're much more versatile. While oll and pll is really specific to cases.
i dont have a void cube but i have a 3x3 and i just take out the middle peices so its like a void cube and mixed it up and solve it in less than 1 min
