Jason tong the builder and owner of all headfirst amps is extremely talented at amp mods. Really love this amp because it does it all for me. 🤘 not surprised at all Jim root is using these!
Love that you did this amp. The builder is such an amazing modder and really explains the circuits in depth. Headfirst rule!
great to see a talented Ozzie amp maker get noticed. Well done Jason
This video is up my alley 😊 Jason is awesome
Wow bro sounds unreal. Jumps out of the speakers with your playing style really matches well.
Jason , Shea , Jeremy are all amazing builders if you know you know
Sounds aggressive but warm...cool
By far my favorite Modded Marshall and ive tried a good amount of these. I miss mine terribly. Im hoping to grab another one before the end of the year.
Jason is a legend
Have you done any videos on his amps?.
@@felinekaiju4517 No, unfortunately that's out of my budget at the moment
@@TheOtherJohnBrowne yeah, me too. That's a solid 7 months saving and sacrifice social life. Lol
Sounds really great! Love the R9 too.
At about 6:25, that is the kind of mid range that will cut through anything. That amp is so versatile. That thing would get a great brown sound.
Sounds really nice. Thank you for sharing these tones and info
That sounds super rad. The programming on the blast sounded riiiiiilllllll nice
Love this!
Go ahead and check into Monomyth as well. Jason and Shea seem like top notch dudes. 🤘
Hell yeah.... Australian made baby 🤘
Wow, this thing sounds great!
As a simp for Orange, I'm gonna struggle to approve of this, but that thing does sound INCREDIBLE...
Nice!
Jase does good stuff ❤️
Love that demo song...Damn good!!!👍
Good review. I’ve been thinking about one of these. Cheers from this Aussie living in NZ 😎🎸🤘
Jason is a genius
Amp sounds great, but your video quality lately is phenomenal as well.
More fluffy riffage please and thank you!
This sounds great, and tbh I didn't really notice the change at Sick New World. I'm still a simp for Orange, and tbf this amp sounds like a Friedman and an Orange had a baby, so it's by no means a bad sound.
Check out the Headfirst TH-cam channel if your into modding and building amps! Jason is very generous with technical info and also sells amp modding parts and electronic components in addition to these fantastic amps! He's one hell of a cool guy also! Glad to see his amps taking off! 🤘🤘🤘
+1 for Jason
Less talkin’, more rockin’ 🤘😎
I remember when Xander Raymond Charles interviewed Jim back in 2019 and he was trying the Friedman BE100 on tour. Given that Jim is usually an Orange guy, makes me shocked to see him switch this late in the game.
Jim’s a gear guy like all of us and always experiments. It’s fun to see.
@@nathanielcava4128 I was surprised he actually tried out the cortex
@nathanielcava4128 he also has a bogner in his live set up.
@@felinekaiju4517 I remember his old modded Uberschall, that's a mythical amp for him!
Damn it blew my head phones out. Cool
The alkaline trio riffage gave me a nice nostalgia hit
Think this suits your style and the way you dial in tones well. Headfirst is killer, along with Monomyth and ground zero.
Damn that thing can get so compressed and thick and chunky I love it, seems like what I always wanted the splawn nitro to be but never quite got there for me. To be fair my egnater armageddon gets close with an EL34 swap but this has sauceeeee
Just what we needed, another high gain amp. 😂 but on a serious note, it’s nice to see the amp market blowing up. Tons of different flavors.
nice color grade man
He needs to design a new Marshall amp
Sounds great and I love all the switches. Reminds me of the Peavey VTM series with the mod switches that could add and remove all of the common mods to a JCM800 circuit on demand. Sued out of production by Marshall.
(But all these artists endorsing things can't be trusted lol. Jim only plays_____ Boogie, VHT, Rivera, Orange, etc., etc.)
+5,000 points for throwing an Alkaline Trio riff in
What guitar picks do you use size and gauge?
Jim said in an interview that he has 3 amps...a HeadFirst,an Orange and a Bogner
Cool
Friedman too no?
They're the 3 in his live rig. You'll see the pictures when you go through the headfirst YT and other social media platforms.
Hey - I, too, am from the Seattle area. I've been playing guitar for about 3 1/2 years now. I was wondering if you know of any open jam circles in the area. I've been looking but haven't had much success.
joo whats that pickup set in that jr jazzmaster?
Hey Fluff, have you checked out the 50 watt Gosh amp yet? Man, there are a ton of cool new amps coming out and only so much money to spend.
Not yet but it looks sick
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Great sounding amp. Hard to justify $4k though
Jim probably still blends it with a rockerverb
I'm I the only one who thought of First Act when I saw the name of the amp?
Woah woah woah, jim root worthy killer marshall sounds from clipping diodes? Its a jcm900, but they sound terrible right, right. RIGHT.
Thats what the internet tells me.
Please get one and educate them but find the even wrongerer 5881 dual reverb. Season with a v30 and g12H
@@connersolo7757add boost for that spicy flavor 😂😂
How about no boost. I never have to boost my fav amps, except some 800's when i was a kid but this one is cool
Don't need a boost. I played stuff like Carcass, Bolt thrower etc. with no boost
Sounds like another Soldano/high gain clone. Speakers and cabs used?
This is definitely not a clone. Jason designs his amps from the ground up. It has it's own sound and feel. And according to Fluff's video it's through a Ownhammer IR of V30's.
@@firemanmickI agree to an extent but modded Marshall circuits definitely aren’t built from the ground up. Jason does deserve all the praise though. Nice guy and super talented. Great to see Headfirst and Jason get some recognition and appreciation 🤘👹🤘
Headfirst: we got push buttons, do you?
Revv: 🙄
Also Framus, Engl and Diezel
sounds underwater
Like everything from headfirst it’s sounds harsh and grainy.
Thanks for the great vids over the years, fluff! Im unsubbing due to the fact that my interests are changing to a vehicle restoration. Guitars were always just a hobby but with the soaring costs of american junk instruments and the inherent stupidity of the customers who pay it, the prices are not worth it.
Its a hobby. Period. Full stop.
Have fun.
Doesn't matter what Sipknot tours with; their tone has and always will be fucking terrible.
I wanna hear what kind of tones you'd be showing us if you had 8 or 9 musicians on the stage 😂😂
You’re right, what does a guitarist in one of the biggest metal bands on the planet know about tone? Let’s listen to some random person in a TH-cam comments section as the ultimate tone authority lololol
Meh.
Getting every era of Marshall amp in the same amp with more versatility makes it endgame for me. If you’re only chasing the hyper modern metal chugs, there are a dozen one-trick pony amps to pick from.
@dylanjastle I had an atla off the first run. I've known Jason before he started the company and I got to say he nailed this. If you are looking for a Marshall this can do everything without having too polished of a tone that some other companies have. It's got just enough rawness to it
