Bald Eagles Jackie and Shadow 🦅🦅❤️ come back to their nest,KISS (BEAK) and bring plenty of STICKS 🥢 and FLUFF! Apparently, it is the end of their vacation and they start huge renovation works very early this year! They bring fluff twice and 10 sticks. They spend about 3 hours on the nest and fly to a nearby tree to mate. You'll also see our favorite Flying Squirrel FIONA as 'cleaning service'.

Nope. Jackie is only fertile January- March. They did this last year too but no 2nd clutch. Their visits will taper off in June.

I discovered bird web cams for a variety of bird species (eagles, falcons, owls (especially Flaco Eurasian Eagle-Owl in NYC-RIP)) in Jan 2024. It's a fascinating "observation tower" into a "day in the life" of these majestic birds! I know there are other birds of prey webcams (not denigrating their value) but J & S have pure and simple stolen my ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ !!

Is it possible for a 2nd clutch?
According to experts, Jackie is fertile only from January to March, so the 2nd clutch is very unlikely at the moment.
They Really must have received quite a lot of rain. Big Bear Lake looks Very Full. I don't see the mud flats like last year.

I was so SAD when their last eggs failed to hatch and when Jackie had to eat them I just lost it. Thought I 'd give up watching, it was too intense. BUT,here I am watching Shadow beak kiss Jackie,just look at that submissive look in her loving eyes,wow. ❤️ love.

Whatever happened to their eggs that were earlier buried in the nest?
One egg broke. The other egg was eaten by Jackie. The third egg is still buried in the nest bowl under fluff.

I think she is carrying eggs. My understanding is that sometimes after first eggs don't hatch they experience a second egg batch. Fingers crossed
