- Big Bear's famous eagles Jackie and Shadow are protecting a trio of eggs, which could hatch as soon as Thursday. Their nest is streamed live via Friends of Big Bear Valley. Three people monitor the eagles and write detailed highlights. Sandy Steers joined FOX 11 to talk about the popular eagles and their life.

I've been viewing Shadow and Jackie's nest since shadow ran off Mr. B. (Jackie's previous mate). Shadow then was just a young adult. One of my favorite nests. 💜🦅💜

Thank you Fox for covering Jacking & Shadow, I`ve been watching them on TH-cam for a couple of years now. Last year was a sad year because their eggs were infertile and the crows ate them. Praying their eggs hatch this year. Thanks to Sandy and everyone at Big Bear Valley eagle cam.

Jackie is a few years older than Shadow. So Shadow found him a cougar or Jackie got her groove back

I wonder how many Jackie and Shadows are laying on the ground of wind farms chopped up by windmill guillotines ~ and very important bats, condors, hawks 😥 Don’t mean to put a damper on the thrill of watching them, but my mind constantly goes to the unnecessary death of these beautiful creatures.

Aren't the eagle eggs late to hatch? I sometimes get a view of the eggs but I haven't seen any little pecking marks on them. Does anyone have updates?

Eagles, some of the most vicious creatures on Earth. They can land on the back of a mammal and start eating it while the animal suffers a slow and painful death. Nothing nobel about these predators.

Dolphins, adelie penguins and ducks violate everything. That's even less nobel than eating from the backs of mammals.
What is considered "nobel"? It's nature. It doesn't obey man's rules.
Unfortunately that's part of nature and we may not like it. Eagles are very Majestic Amazing birds. They do what they have to survive. No different than a lion killing another animal to eat. For you to say that Eagles are not noble is Wrong. Watching them build a nest and the size of is just Amazing. Don't know why you're picking on the Eagles they aren't the only animal that eats other animals alive.

Your a strange bird. These birds are absolutely noble and majestic. What an animal does instinctively to survive is different between species. They must eat with as little chance of being killed while doing so and this is one of there tactics. But mainly bald eagles eat fish. Golden eagles on the other hand whew now those guys take out the mammals sometimes even small deer
