And Doc had an implant that could create and control sentient computer programs he uses to hack systems and gain information.

There is a longer version on the american DVDs. It has a lot of scenes from the first episode but with a few different voices and details. For instance, it shows Captain Kidd with all of Zachs family in the end instead of just with his wife. It also has the Queen of the Crown with a different design as well. It's a nice pilot episode.
Oh and no The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers isn't technically an Anime any more than Thundercats or Silverhawks is, its simply was animated in Asia - Both Japan and Korea. it was all American written and made specially for the US market it's NOT a Japanese show that was Translated into English. It is an American Produced show animated in Asian - just like The Simpsons is too for that matter. You can tell that also because the voices match the mouths properly (most of the time). Oh and if you see any iffy Animation it's usually a less good story and an episode made in Korea and if the Animation is better the story is better too and it's animated in Japan. The Producers even admit they sent the strongest scripts to japan. It's certainly heavily influenced in style and tone and direction by the Asian Animation but the script themes and heck the Music is all VERY American. (in the best possible way) Well may be the Music isn't Quite 100% America... but you get the idea.
I think the stylization is a healthy bend between both worlds. The designs look like a mix of the best of the east and western comic book hero/scifi, with the technical care and detail only Japan can produce. It's the best balance. I mean, what has the west even done on its own? Calarts? Give me a break.
I wonder how no body is interested to make the version live action movie .... With all CGI technology it will make a good movie. And surely Goose will be the most favorite one.

The animation is from studios in Japan. For example, by "TMS" Studios (since the 1960s), for foreign productions like this one.
