You just saved me a fortune. Thank you. My 60 year old female self watched and successfully changed both tires. Another successful degree from you tube University 😅
Good work! For the record, you did not change the tires You changed the wheels. Changing the tires means removing the old tires from the wheels and installing the new tires back on the wheels. It's HARD to get these small tires off and on to these small wheels.
VERY helpful. I just found a damaged tire yesterday and was a bit ugh about the whole thing. Saw this video and it definitely gave me the confidence to complete the job!
If you have a car with a jack that jack will usually work. Just find a solid place to place it on the mower frame. (And the ground, too.) Chocking the diagonal tires is also more than reasonable. When your done with that one stop by. (Just a heads up, some don't have cotter pins - they might have snap clip if you have a different make/model.)
Thank you for this easy and thorough video on how to change the entire wheel and tire on a riding mower. I also have a Troy Built riding mower and I'm new to using a riding mower. I also admit that I'm not the most mechanically inclined person. I think I can do this.
This is a great video... concise, helpful, well-filmed, and easy to follow. You made my day. I'm not sure how my tire unravelled off of the rim, but it seems it's easier to just replace the rim and tire at once and be done with it.
Thank you so much! I'm new at changing tires out and you explain very thing well. Cannot find anyone who knows how to do things so this 64 yr old lady rolled up the sleeves and went for it! 😅
@@fixitFlip, yes it does. The only problem I ran into was the spacer part. Fantastic video!! About to have to change a front tire as discovered over the weekend one of mine has a tear in it. Do you also have a change the back tire video? Thanks so much!!!
Hey Flip, front tire change was a breeze thanks to your video!! Thank You! Once question I have is does the cotter pin need to be bent a certain amount to keep the wheel from having any movement on the axel?
Wow, I knew mine was bad but seeing your "bad" tire makes mine worse than I realized. Its been BALD for the last couple years, unless I count the "knobbies" from plugs I've put in it. Time to go change it out. Thanks for the video!
My son ran my rider down a steep hill. My front wheels are bent slightly outward. Do I need to replace the entire front end or just the wheel attachment points? Thanks for your help.
I have new tires on the front, but they didn't come with those bushings. Both tires are really wobbly. Do you know if I can buy just the bushings for Type A? I see some on Amazon, but I don't know if they're the right size. Troy Bilt Pony 2016 13WM77SK011
I need the bushings 741-04376 and 741-04370. I've scoured Google and can only find 741-04376. I can't find any compatible parts number. Any ideas? Otherwise, I'll have to just buy new tires.
Changed the front tire on a Huskee LT4200 riding lawn mower. After starting and put into Forward gear, the mower would not move. Reverse worked fine. Any idea what went wrong? Mower worked Okay before changing tire. Thanks!
Hi, is there by chance steel balling bearings I can order and used instead on the rubber bushings? I'm just thinking of durability wise, planning on changing front wheel soon. Left front wobbles(picked up mower recently second hand) thanks 😀
Yes, I'm looking to do the same on my White outdoor which i think has the same wheel hubs and axle. Any more info or part numbers would be very helpful. Thanks
I bought the same Arnold wheel but it has no instructions on how to grease it. It claims to have grease fittings but I don't see anything that looks like one. Any suggestions?
I do have a video on greasing front wheels. This is a different tractor, but you can watch it if you want tips. They are pretty similar. Both made by MTD: th-cam.com/video/CCnU4ySsr78/w-d-xo.html
I tried this wheel on my Troy built, but I can't get the cotter pin back in with the correct bushings ... probably gonna have to sand those suckers down a bit on the inside
@@fixitFlip it's older than this one, but with the long inner bushing and the outer washer the hole is barely visible... With the shorter bushing and supplied spacer it fits, but would rub pretty bad on the inside...

I know there are front wheel "bushing to bearings" conversion kits sold for some mowers, but I haven't seen them for this mower either. They could be out there somewhere.

It sounds like the front wheel spindles (axles) are bent. You would have to take the wheels off and see where it is bent.
What spot did you jack to on the front of the mower? Was it on the front deck hanger?
I think right on a front part of the frame, but I couldn't get right in the middle. Had to go slightly off to each side for each wheel.
