I can remember as far back as 2 years old and maybe even 1. For me, elopement was a curiosity and i remember being in Cape May, NJ at my irish grandmother's house at the age of almost 2 and thinking it was the most fascinating home because it was old and had a door in the powder room that led down to the basement. I couldn't believe that a bathroom had a separate door to a basement and wanted to go down there. also, there was an old closet in another room that had mannequins in it and i wanted to always go to that room and the powder room. i had dreams about those two rooms for many years after that. i couldn't have been older than 2. i specifically remember playing with a stack a toy with those plastic donuts on the kitchen floor and being in diapers. I also eloped in philadelphia, pa when i was 5 years old and just wanted to walk as far as i could to see everything since everything looked so old. i got lost and just went to somebody's door and told them i was lost and they called the police and the police took me back to where i was supposed to be. i hope if ur son gets out again, the police will understand and not get mad at u. those things just happen because ur son probably does that for the same reason i did.
That's not a bad idea to get something printed on his shirt collar but I don't know if anyone would know to look there. I saw an older boy (15 or so) with a passport lanyard around his neck that had all his info. Maybe with Lincoln is older, I can try that
@@sarahinstitches I'm going to piggy back off that idea, have an arrow or an arrow out of words (read here) pointing to the collar? Perhaps a symbol that means Autistic and have that indicate "my clothing has my information".

I wonder if likes hats or a bracelet or printed shirts that could have his status/information displayed. I hope the lock in system continues to work!
