@@вусович Why Poland? Because Belarus is culturally, mentally, and historically closer to Poland than to Russia. Just look at this piece of Belarusian folklore, the outfits they wear, the rhythms and music they play, and the way they dance and articulate themselves. There's so much affinity to the Polish culture and lore coming as the common legacy of the Polish and Lithuanian Commonwealth. Save for the language itself which is very close to Polish, too, there aren't many perceivable differences between their performance and Polish kujawiak, krakowiak, oberek, or mazurka dances. Just compare the way they look, sing, and dance with Russian folk ensembles. There's a world of difference due to Far Eastern peoples' influence on the Russian culture and folklore, which are beautiful in themselves, too, but clearly, visibly, and audibly distinct.
