Thank you for sharing! Jon Levin is on fire, and as for Don's vocals, I'd like to give the gentleman a break, he is 70 years old with his right hand paralyzed. I am just glad that he has a will to carry on.
In Don words: so long as the fans keep showing up we will continue to play.
He has also said on occasion that he likes to help the others pay their bills.
Keep on Rokken w/ Dokken!!!
What happened to his hand? 😰
@@mariskacandice890 he had spinal surgery and they botched it badly
He Sounds old
....."Breaking the Chains"..... more like "Breaking a Hip"......
Jon Levin is absolutely the only guy who can sound like lynch. Just f"n amazing. Anyone hating on Don should be a
shamed of themselves.
The man is one of the greats a true living legend
George is one of the best. Always was, great talent, guy can shred.legendary.
that’s not george
yeah George is there !.....watch the tile instead of playing with your men boobs....lol ! @@liamwashburn234
@@liamwashburn234 1:18:00 that's George
I will always be a dedicated and loving fan of Dokken, the absolute best band from the 80's crazy hair metal scene, would never have made it through the dark days I encountered along the way, coming of age in the late 80's!! 🎸🤘❤ Breaking the Chains was my anthem when I left CT for So. CA in 1989, never looked back and so very grateful for all of the rocking fans of Dokken that understand exactly what I'm talking about. Can't wait to see them in September at the Big E, thank you Dokken for everything and God bless Don Dokken himself, can't believe he's 70!!! Boy doesn't that make us feel old lol!! 😂🤘❤
Don Dokken lost arm movement after back surgery. It's coming back. Lost his voice a few years ago. But us true Dokken fans don't care. He's out there. At first I felt the same way after the first show I saw...now I'm Back-For-The-Attack like any true fan. Awesome concert. Thanks for coming to Iowa through snow and sleet - the band ripped it up ! Freakin' Aye !
Could not have said it any better! 💥
Stomach cancer doesn't help. But yes. He's out there. This sound here sucks though.
@1 Man Sh!t Show And "Auto Body Stuff". The sound was recorded from my phone, not the soundboard. I got overwhelming guitar sound on that side, which is fine by me.
@@MelvinZoopers He11 yeah - I mean.... that's what we really want to hear anyway, at a Dokken show... right? George is still a freakin' Beast! Good to see him come out.
"Lost his voice a few years ago, but us Dokken fans don't care. Awesome concert." WOW-
Don Dokken sang his ass off for years made awsome music that were gonna listen too till we die .nobody has the right too say he sucks now .what have you done ?
Hats off to him for still being a part of what he helped created.
30 albums but no i dont sound like dokken and at this point thank phukk
@@MelvinZoopers Like the fact that it's his name on the band? lol Never ceases to amaze that people say things like it's not his name on the banner. Their punishment should be they have to sit on the stage duct taped into grade school sized plastic chairs were Don can look right at them the entire show. lol
I came here for George...he is still awesome.
Lynch starts playing at about 1:18:00
thanks karen!!!lol
I skipped right to it. Isn't a true a true Dokken concert until Lynch picks up the axe.
@@austinlineweaver78 Levin is great but George Lynch is one of a kind. He has a unique way of phrasing and doing things that would be hard for anyone to duplicate right. Been a fan of Lynch since i started -playing guitar in 1984.
As a 38 yr old guitarist and not being able to experience the greats in their prime... would u say george was in the echelon of evh, nuno, satch, vai, randy? I would say of course from what i heard of his playing and as a guitarist that knows them all... but with the exception of nuno i consider the others virtuoso's sonfor that i dont think he gets the nod nor as much recognition as he should? What can u tell me about his playing. Im generally interested!
@@tonybarber420 I love Lynch. He had/has a way of squeezing out the most "tasty" meaningful notes. Fast, powerful and with feeling. Not the innovator like EVH or the depth of Rhodes but awesome in his own right. Jon Levin, who now plays for Dokken, is also great in playing the Lynch style. Check out the "Lightning Strikes Again" album.
Levin is amazing!!!!
Lynch's energy and chops at 68 is inspiring. Out there still storming across the countryside
Not lynch
😂🎉😢
nope
@@charlesblake8388 May wanna check the last 3 songs man
@@charlesblake8388 - George was on the last 3 songs
Melvin, I didn't know you recorded the entire show. Goodness, you were close. You did an amazing job recording. This venue really does look like an old ballroom. It's kind of cool. Love these small shows. Hope you had a great time. I've always been a big fan of George.
Great time for sure! It is where Buddy Holky played his last show. Lots of history there.

@@davedavidson1983lol, that was funny but NO HATING ON DON HES THE BEST!!! 😊 i luv don THAT WAS FUNNY AF I GOTTA SAY!
@@ToriS61910 .... lol ....
Good for Don for still rockin! Guitar player sounds like the studio recordings and looks like he's having fun, thanks for uploading one of my favorite rock artist!
I've been a Dokken fan since 1983 and still think they are Brilliant looking forward to getting the new album.
Dokken for ever !!!! John Levin great guitarist !!!!🤟🤟🤟🤟
🤘
He had very different hairstyle and color some years ago. I barely recognized him...Cool!
So pumped to see this! Thank you for recording this show! Got to meet Don and Mikkey Dee in 1990 and have my picture taken with Don. He is one of my all-time favorite vocalists.
That tour was amazing.
Thanks so much for sharing 😊🤘
Would love to see Jeff go out on tour with George and sing the dokken songs!!
Thank you !!

Rockin' reunion with #Dokken and #GeorgeLynch. 💚
Hey, at least they gave it a go with George. If nothing else, people can say they saw Dokken with George, regardless of the finished product.
I agree, it’s time to
Move on & release the new music.
@@JJ-hi7wq Don will only get better he has all of us cheering him on and he needs that
I feel the same way, if this is going to be my opportunity to see George play live I'm taking it
....."Breaking the Chains"..... more like "Breaking a Hip"......
Thank you Don for all of the great music and for continuing to share with the world. You are a musical genius!
Rock the Roll, and Roll the Rock...until your last dying breath. God willing
Don certainly don't need the money.. he's out there for pure love. George gets his cut. He's got his projects rollin', he's fine. They might never truly "kiss and make Up".. but as long as the music stays strong and they still rock, I'm there..
Amen.
Weird Al can play guitar!
Funny, when everyone is listening down. . you guys are one of the tightest bands in the fucking world! There is a mutual respect for each musician putting forth the product . . we all crave!! ROCK ON DOKKEN!! Thanks for putting in the work!! Still one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!! Rip it up PROPER Gentlemen!! Blessings.
Don't Close Your Eyes!!!! Such a great song that hasn't been performed by the band much over their career.
I was raised on Dokken i will always remember the good times\w/ rockin with Dokken
Thank you Melvin for this kick ass treat of a concert show🤘
You betcha!
Love Dokken! You guys rock 🤘🏼
Man John is so friggin good it's sickening...Great to watch George too!!! Glad they still do this for the fans, means a lot.
Saw them in St. Charles Illinois at the Arcadia Theatre. ROCKIN WITH DOKKEN NEVER DISSAPOINTS!!!!
Awesome to see George back with Dokken he can still Tear it up WOW
🎉😢
that's not george ,dummy
Love that the guitar is so up front in the posters recording!!
Yeah...I was right in front of George's amps!!🤘
Wow does George sound great! Love that growl...
This guitar player performs in a very workman like fashion. He plays well too.
Can’t hear Don that well?? George Lynch is and will always be my favorite guitarist 🔥🎸❤️💥🎭😇✨
T U Melvin Zoopers for sharing this ! I subscribed to watch yr other rockin’ concerts!!😉
Rock on!
I have ben listening to Dokken since the Breaking the Chains album. Don always used what he had to the maximum. He's got a lot of miles on those vocal chords. I am sure the 80's lifestyle didn't help either but he keeps on keeping on🤟🤟🤟🤟
Dokken has a ton god music besides the well known hits. Broken Bones is a great album and of course Lightning Strikes Again. Even Dysfunctional is a pretty good album. I think Under Lock and Key was their pinnacle year they were unstoppable.
Don still does a better job than Vince Neil niw there is a guy that is a waste of stage space.
Thank you Melvin!!! This made my fcking day. George's playing his ass off was a not so surprising highlite. Just Awesome!
Jesus Christ. Freakin amazing guitar playing! Blown away by this…
Great quality, thanks for sharing this. I do think it's a shame that they don't play any songs from the newer albums in favor of just playing the same old songs...
My friend Nick LOVES Dokken!
what the heck?
Glad to see Don out there still rocking! Would love to see him put the time into getting healthy.
He's been through a lot of things out of his control, including spinal surgery & cancer.
Don sounds better than Vince Neil any time of the week
No he don't. Not no more
What a wreck
Jon does a great job but George is just that next level. Cool af that he has the balls to play Lynch’s solos in his presence ! i would sht myself ! Great show
O senhor Don Dokken não consegue mais cantar, ele não tem mais voz. Ele também é gordo e disforme. Porém, o senhor George Lynch está em seu melhor momento, ele parece jovem e elegante, além de tocar como um deus da guitarra.
Seen Dokken in the 80's in Peoria IL at the civic center awesome always
JON LEVIN IS A BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love him or hate him. Don's vocals made Dokken. Along with great backup vocals. I'm going to watch more of the 1987 live concert on here and remember what was.
Brutal
Lynch and Levin are both brilliant players but it's interesting to watch Lynch come on right after and see how he plays just a bit deeper in the pocket than Levin...there is just a bit more swagger in his playing. Not a knock at Levin just an observation.
Don!!!!! Call it a day!!
Dude is fucking bad ass on guitar !
The guitarist played on doros debut solo album force majeure
@@neillbickerstaff6671 Which guitarist?
DON , PLEASE DO NOT GET ME WRONG, MAN...YOUR VOICE IS GONE,, 70 YEARS OLD MAN,....
too high to fly....oh hell yeah
SHRED FEST!

Just a little Tid Bit here. The Surf Ballroom in located in Clear Lake Iowa. This is where Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Richie Valens had their last show before the plane crash. I've been to 4 concerts here and it's one of the best venue's that I've been to. I'm glad to see Dokken played here.
Great venue to watch a show!
Did Lynch Mob open up??? I skipped this based on recent Dokken concert videos & seeing Don's audio here glad I did 🙁Great video quality here 👍
Surf Ballroom. R.I.P. Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens
Don please let it go. God bless. Thank you for all the great music don.
Been a huge Dokken fan since the beginning. Seen them many times. It's sad where Don's voice is. But he never took care of himself and abused his voice and body. I'll always love this band. But maybe it's time to walk away.
You are forgetting the cancer & the paralysis.
Awesome guitar player by G.lynch
Band sounds great . Don’s voice is totally gone . I don’t get why Don doesn’t let George Lynch play the entire show with the band . Have a 2 guitar attack
It's a $ thing.
@@MelvinZoopers I was also wondering why not. Is George's band opening or is he riding along to the shows & playing only three songs? Wasn't sure how they were doing that. Thank you! Hope your dog is doing great!
@@whippoorwillholler740 Lynch Mob open for Dokken and then George play the last 3 songs of the Dokken set with Don
Did the show open "Without Warning" at the very beginning it sounds like the end of that?
He even tuned down, George and Sweet have a good thing going hope they grow that. George and Don made amends and played together again like VanHalen. And the same with them they will never be Dokken of the 80's. Don let his voice go. He's no Axel. Hang it up Don or get a voice coach.
George f-ing Lynch !! Why this dude aint filling big rooms in some band is mind boggling to me.
Don Dokken still jams amidst all the issues he has. At least he gets up there and give it his all. Unlike Vince Neil who doesn't even try. Way better than backtrack crue lol.
^^^ ...and the songs aren't tuned-down a few steps like a lot of bands do to assist the vocal delivery as people age, etc. Yeah, the higher notes aren't hit like they were in the 1980s, but still seems to have a great show worth catching! I hope they do more of these Midwest dates in the future.
Age is a cruel joke on humanity. I applaud them for still carrying on all these years.
かっこいい👍👍👍
AWESOME DOKKEN FOREVER !!!
Looks like George changed the neck again on the famous tiger guitar
Different guitar,he sold his original.
@@jamieross5887 he sold his famous original tiger why did he do that he's tripping
@@jasonjones2769 big money,over 100,000 .
Don Dokken and Eilert Pilarm ;)
Levin is a genius ..dude can play anything he wants…..
Genious would certainly need to include the best of the best written songs. He does not have those. But of course Lynch has a bunch under his belt. Juat saying
Levin is good. Real good. Then, the master takes the stage. The whole energy changed. The tone was phenomenal. Too bad, they get old.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
It's not a true Dokken concert until George Lynch aka Mr. Scary shows up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤟🤟🤘🤘
Well, i gotta have LOTS of respect for this man don. Nevermind, i want to have a lot of respect because its my choice, HE HAS BEEN WITH YALL FOR ALL THESE YEARS AND STILL HASNT RETIRED! The reason i say yall is bc im only 13 i used to listen to these songs when i was about 5 years old but i never knew it was dokken😂 i thought it was like skid row or the scorps, the only songs i knew that was by them was the hunter and jn my dreams, the first time i saw the video for in my dreams i thought don was about 45 and that he was fat, but when i saw it the second time about a year ago, i realized that he was a VERY SEXY MAN and thats now how i got to listening to dokken, so thats my story and i hope i get to see my inspritation and idle next year
Sad you can barely hear Don but the band sounds great.
yes dons voice is not the greatest anymore for sure, but not bad for his age but his band sounds tight for sure!!!
Jon Levin used to play George's part's exactly how the albums were, now I see he has started to ad-lib a little more, he must be taking notes from George's ferocious unpredictable "live" style ha ha
When I was 14 I made a wish that I could sing just like Don. I still cant sing for sh*t, but apparently my wish has finally come true.
Lol, i love dons voice, idc if ppl say he sucks, he still sounds good to me. Im his biggest fan after all. Hell i know just abt everything abt dokken😂 and im 13! Keep rokken with dokken😊❤❤❤❤
@@ToriS61910 You are wise beyond your years friend. Keep on rokken!
No more Shaut anymore?
Sounding awesome. And for all the haters on Don's vocals, screw you. So what if he doesn't have the power he used to have, you instantly know its him and thats saying something with what he's been through
Where the hell is george? Hes in the lineup for the more recent shows
The last 3 songs.
some dude on vocals having a nap
Lol Legend's Don talk so low he sound's like ""donald trump "" so hilarious folk's
At least Don dokken is real good rockin attitude
Respect Don Dokken RESPECT 4 LIFE
George is still a guitar god! 1:22:13
And Wild Mick Brown??!!
1:24:00 George lynch rock on.
... 🤘 🇺🇲
don did AMAZING on dream warriors, as well as every other song like he always does, im not in his shoes so i wont judge the man, after all no matter what hes always my favorite singer. And he was THE HOTTEST man alive in the 80s, i wish i was there😂
Where are the vocals???????
I’m can’t hear him cause of the loud music
Don you are just not delivering the songs anymore. You’re a legend but talking into the mic an octave lower and standing in one spot isn’t a rock show I wanna see and I love Dokken music
Stop hating
Can't even hear Don. guy is lifeless.
Where is Jeff Pilson??!!
God Levin is improving over the solos too...smh
you may want to turn up the vocal mic, and turn down the guitar amp, mabye
