Well done fellas. I was a Patrol Officer in PNG throughout the '70s and you brought back memories of the patrols I used to go on. You should research the original PNG crossing that was done in the '30s. If you have to opportunity and can find it the book "The Sky Travelers" by Bill Gammage tells of the last great overland expedition anywhere in the world with 300 to 400 carriers taking 18 months to do most of what you did plus plus plus. Cheers and well done.
My grandfather Rev Dr Bert Brown was a missionary in Moru from 1938. can read his adventures in a book called Burt Brown of papua.. also knew a patrol officer Graham McMurray.
This adventure is so great and for the fearless. Even most Papua new Guineans wouldn't dare to take this type of adventure. This should be in a TV show..Well done guys..
Well done Patrick and Richard. You have experienced and discovered the rough terrains, mountains, rivers and many unexpected things in my home land PNG. I salute you both. You deserved a big party from your friends when you back home to England. All the very best!
To be honest, no Papua New Guinean would have done a two men trip across the country crossing mountains, thick forests and rivers. You should be proud of yourselves embarking on a trip that wasn't done ever before. Just so you know that the mouth of mighty Fly River has claimed many lives traveling on small dinghies. Congrats and may God continue to guide yous in your adventures.
Wow!!! CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉🎉. What an adventure. Thanks for sharing your experience with the world. Salute you both for your bravery and persistence!! #Respect🙏🙏🇵🇬🇵🇬🇵🇬
Congratulations on a truly amazing video! It was gripping tale of adventure and courage. You two have accomplished what only a priveliged few have done and now share a place next to an elite group of people. Thank for a wonderful story. I wish you all the best
Awesome documentary. I did the trip from Kiunga to Daru back in 2012, but in a motorized 'banana' boat...it was also during floods so we had a good run all the way down. The places you stopped at Obo, etc, are familiar. That river is massive, and it's unfortunate that sediment continues being dumbed in there by a mine upstream. Enjoyed your documentary series.
Thank you Richard and Patrick you guys visited my homeland PNG, what an awesome journey, im still here in london far from home look me up? im from East Sepik by the way
First sentence of the video isn't true, Papua New Guinea isn't an island, it is a county - consisting of half of the of the island of New Guinea as well as various other islands (New Britain, Bougainville, New Ireland, etc...)
