Dylan The Genie DID Put A Spell On Him So No One Would Recognize Him, When They Were In The Desert. That's Why Jafar Didn't Recognize Him When He Should Have.
Ok but I hate that in the live action movie Aladdin has to convince Jasmine to jump across the gap. In the animated film she does it on her own time and surprises him, *not* herself. That was the moment she became my favorite. She so effortlessly believed she could, and did. She didn't need him. A minute thing but I was sad to miss it in the new movie.
Am I reading this wrong? Because if anything, it’s better if she didn’t just immediately learn how to jump over huge gaps between buildings, as she practically just admitted that she had just learned how to do it by watching Aladdin do it once. Now I’m not saying that she was a Mary sue or anything, but why do you care so much that they gave her a small flaw in the live action? Flaws are literally things that make people relate to characters, like you can’t tell me you relate to Jasmine more when she has absolutely no fear and can instantly learn a complicated skill, when there was never a sign of her being able to do it before. Plus, whether or not she needed convincing, her jumping across the buildings in the live action is still really hard.
Years late Makes alot more sense realistically unlike animated Jasmine out of nowhere with no training despite being her whole life and the "fast learner" thing is hard to buy it
Uma Lilia He doubted Genies skills when he said he was all powerful. “I bet your not even powerful enough to get us out of this cave”. So Genie showed off and forgot that Aladdin was supposed to make a wish.

I know it’s old but that’s something that really bugged me too. In the original she was second in command, what she said goes unless the Sultan overruled her (and by extension Jafar because he’s supposed to be the sultans hand/advisor so when he gives orders the guards assume it’s coming from the sultan). In this movie they invented the “nobody takes her seriously, because woman” angle and then made her sultan at the end. They literally stripped Jasmine of her power and authority just to sell it back to her and call it “female empowerment”. So dumb Naomi Scott did have a phenomenal performance though, ngl
Given how the rest of these live action remakes have gone, I think we can safely assume that the people remaking them don't really respect or understand the animated versions.

I just realized that Raja had to be very gentle when licking Aladdin's face, since tigers have little spines on their tongues, which allow them to lick flesh clean off bone.

The beginning of the live action and animation refers to the Silk Road, which refers to trade and globalisation which was concentrated in the middle east and Central Asian (most richest region from the beginning of Civilizations till 16th century) so it makes sense to have ships as boats were used in this region as transport and trade.
My question too..I get copyrighted for a tv show by a youtuber..disney is like on top with copyright so I am shocked (After watching it..he didnt put the songs in so that helps)
Genie explained the identity-hiding genie magic at the beginning. Either way, I'm glad you liked this movie because I LOVED it. You'll enjoy the animated version too. Can't wait
After a thorough watch of most of Dylan's videos, within the commentary aspect, I concluded that the funniest one might be the movies Dylan hates, but the MOST enjoyable to watch are his "wait, this movie is actually really good", he seems to be having such a good time with himself.....yeah, I should've phrased that differently but like.... 28:00 look at that reaction, its so wholesome.
He also missed the one where Will Smith says: "I can just, poof,( makes a prince that looks exactly like the genie) make you a prince. The prince: "ya'll see my palace!"
Taylor Lexus yeah, the moment I saw it was the actress from lemonade mouth I literally screamed cause I had a massive crush on amo when I was younger lmao
Okay hold up. There has been one thing that bothers me about the scene where the parrot chases Aladdin and Jasmine. Why didn’t Jasmine just use the lamp to gain three wishes?? Like, she had it in her possession and we clearly see that the Genie can have more than one ‘master’ at a time (as Jafar and Aladdin technically still has some wishes left at the same time). The whole mess could’ve been solved if she just rubbed the lamp while they were on the carpet and used her three wishes to counteract Jafar. Idk man, it’s just an observation that really annoys me
I thought she was gonna rub the lamp too, they were already changing so much of the original movie anyway. That would have been a better ending honestly. She could wish Jafar to be powerless, wish to be sultan, and wish her kingdom to be prosperous with no starving children or something. And Aladdin could make his final wish to set the genie free. My guess is that she didn't know she could actually use to lamp for her own wishes as well. Just like Aladdin, she didn't know the rules or something.
Event Planner That is a pretty good point! But also, I’m pretty sure she saw Jafar use the lamp (the whole rubbing the lamp and then you make wish). I feel like Jasmine, she being intelligent in this version, could’ve made the logical jump and realized that she could have her own wishes... 🤷🏻♀️
@@generalsarcasm8937 This is a good point. I'm reaching here, but maybe all of the sexism she had experienced throughout her life (telling her to be silent, that her opinion doesn't matter, that she's powerless, etc) prevented her from thinking she could use the lamp? That the genie wouldn't be able to answer to a woman? That's a stretch, but I'm gonna believe that so I don't get even more annoyed with this remake haha
Also why did no one use the Jafar wishes? Seems like poor thinking. But then again--the Genie can clearly do magic without expressly being told to so maybe keeping him locked up to begin with is for the best.
Jayda Skidmore I think that even with all the empowerment seen in the movie, they still went for the "princess that needs to be saved". It's like in all those games and films where the girl in danger doesn't even fight, just waits for the guy to save her, once the guy HAS to be the protagonist. it really bothers me once Jasmine has this whole musical number about not staying quiet and showing her potential but when there's a chance for her to really save the story in a simple way they ignore it
“And what do you hope to buy with this?” “You! 😃” Not gonna lie, that REALLY made me laugh. The delivery and confidence with which he said that one word was pretty funny
I personally think he’s hilarious and great at Aladdin. He did try and lean into being sultry too much at some points in the first few scenes with him and Jasmine, but after that it greatly improved. Not to mention his voice has so much character and he’s got that charming Disney Prince smile
It's never stated that she has a miscarriage. It just shows her in the OBGYNs office and she's crying. Which could just mean she's infertile and unable for her eggs to be fertilized. Just saying.
@@FuchsiaPandaBear yeah, but a Lot of married couples paint a nursery when they're trying for a baby. Especially back in those days. *Edit: also, no it never showed her pregnant. Never once did her belly grow.*

Dylan The Genie DID Put A Spell On Him So No One Would Recognize Him, When They Were In The Desert. That's Why Jafar Didn't Recognize Him When He Should Have.
Who's here to watch the original "meet pack" joke after the new aladdin video?
I just realized that Raja had to be very gentle when licking Aladdin's face, since tigers have little spines on their tongues, which allow them to lick flesh clean off bone.
😮I want an evil Jasmine now who uses Raja to kill people. That would be a great villain

The beginning of the live action and animation refers to the Silk Road, which refers to trade and globalisation which was concentrated in the middle east and Central Asian (most richest region from the beginning of Civilizations till 16th century) so it makes sense to have ships as boats were used in this region as transport and trade.
How are you not getting copyrighted besides the obvious answer of inconsistency
TheKpa11 ikr😂😂😂
I think the editing helps a lot. And the format of a window of him over the actual movie clips.
My question too..I get copyrighted for a tv show by a youtuber..disney is like on top with copyright so I am shocked (After watching it..he didnt put the songs in so that helps)
Don't jinx it
He also talks over a lot of dialogue too
“Idk if I want to have sex on a sentient carpet” is my favorite quote of this video
Emotional scene: "I lost them both, when I was young"
Dylan: "Oh.. in a crowd or something?"
You missed one of the best lines!
*Dalia* : you’re just getting married! It’s not like you have to talk to him!
He also missed the one where
Will Smith says: "I can just, poof,( makes a prince that looks exactly like the genie) make you a prince.
The prince: "ya'll see my palace!"
The actress who played Jasmine played Mo in Lemonade Mouth...just thought you should know👍🏻😂

And Kimberly from Power Rangers.

Dylan: we can just go do the (animated) Aladdin in a few weeks
Also Dylan: **three years later** today we’re doing the animated Aladdin
Event Planner
That is a pretty good point!

“And what do you hope to buy with this?”
“You! 😃”
Not gonna lie, that REALLY made me laugh. The delivery and confidence with which he said that one word was pretty funny
I got a lot of second hand embarassment from that scene!
I personally think he’s hilarious and great at Aladdin. He did try and lean into being sultry too much at some points in the first few scenes with him and Jasmine, but after that it greatly improved. Not to mention his voice has so much character and he’s got that charming Disney Prince smile
Exactly 🤣🤣
😃

Dylan: "You know who didn't have kids, Carl from Up."
Me: "Uh yeah for a reason. Him and his wife were going to have kids but she had a miscarriage."
and then died
It's never stated that she has a miscarriage. It just shows her in the OBGYNs office and she's crying. Which could just mean she's infertile and unable for her eggs to be fertilized. Just saying.
And then she freaking died
Jillian Rachael I thought in the movie was pregnant for sometime, like when they are decorating the nursery
