I have been dealing with lowkey insomnia for awhile now and when I do fall asleep I often have nightmares. His voice has helped me fall asleep easier and the nightmares are not as frequent now and I can't express my gratitude to him, and the people who've uploaded this video and the other videos of him reading.
That's the same reason that I've been listening to it. I have really bad insomnia, and night mares as well. Before I found this, I listened to a really great meditation series that worked well, and before that I tried binaural beats.
We have not him except in our hearts and how he touched them...but we have that voice, that marvellous voice, the gift of a handicap when young mesmerized each of us from youth and well into our old age. Bless you Sir and thank you yet again...see you in my dreams...
Alan Rickman will live on forever through the courage and the strength brought forth by his brilliant and beautiful voice .. What he reads makes no difference .. unless what he is reading has special significance for a certain listener .. To hear him is to become calm and comforted .. to hear him is to feel safe and cared for .. to hear him is to experience rest without pain .. Whether you understand what Alan Rickman reads does not matter .. that he reads matters still .. and to those who love him always will .. And it is enough .. just to listen.. Jen999💙
I had no idea this existed so I was of course excited to read along to his voice--same problem everyone else is having in the comments. How can you expect me to focus when his voice is so dreamy?? There's just no way.
I didn't become really aware of him till he was gone 4 yrs, then found such a connection l could have been married to him in the right circumstance. Would that there were more like him, but he was one only of his kind, nor is there ever likely to be. Angels must have attended the moment of his conception.
Aww bis voice is so gute😍i am german and i try do understand it in the content it is hard but it is ok love you Alan❤you will be never forget by anyone
Alan was our favorite person hero friend brother actor singer king 👑 dancer director entertainer narrator and now guardian angel we will miss you so much rip alan
How desperately I wish that Alan Rickman’s mellifluous voice could have beautified and perfected the supervening literature: Everything You Want Me To Be, by Mindy Mejia; Valley Of The Dolls, by Jacqueline Susann; and especially A Rose In Winter, by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss; as well as his recently published semi-autobiography (Madly, Deeply: The Diaries Of Alan Rickman). 🙏🏻😔💔🎭🎬📖🎻📽🔐🖼🇬🇧🌥
I find Thomas Hardy's prose (at least in this novel) to be a little too convoluted and strained. It seems to belong to the early 19th century... It's funny really because I was given the impression that Hardy's prose is *down-to-earth and simple* and an example of a "modern novel" - even if also deep and profound. I personally find it too contrived. Perhaps his other novels are different....
he only shows pictures of himself. i thought jeff goldblum was full of himself. put a picture of hardy at least, sooooooo dramatic. toooo over the top. hardy is subtle, that what's makes his writing scream. he had to to slap victorian society in the face, and still make a living.
It has nothing to do with "being French", lol, his voice is like a magnet that absorbs your full attention from paying attention to the content of what he says.
That voice may be physically gone but it will certainly never be forgotten. You live on, Alan. Always.
Always😥❤😭
After all this time? Always.
Voice Pooorn *-* his voice is so beautiful and calming. I kinda feel like Snape is reading me a Bed Time Story :D

There's something soothing about his voice when he reads. He could read a horror story and the sound of his voice would put me in a peaceful sleep.
lmao esp if he speaks softly lol
LMAO funny but true lol

RIP Alan Rickman. Your voice is unforgettable.
Possibly the greatest first chapter of any English novel read with such command by a great actor with a God given voice.

His diction is so perfect and his accent is beautiful.
Rest in Paradise Alan Rickman. You will be greatly missed by many, but never forgotten.

I am Hungarian and I have no idea what he reads. But I listen because his voice is so beautiful. (Sorry, my english is very awful)
Your English is very good! For some reason, it should be 'no idea what he is reading'. Maybe because you are describing one particular instance.
❤ your. English is. Fine❤
