Alan looks so handsome here....I love is hair ! and his smile and of course his manly voice with that sexy tone...too sad he's not longer in this world, but fortunately he left his life's work to keep enjoying his talent
What a wonderful man he was. Very down to earth, funny, generous, kind, respectful to everyone including fans wanting autographs, and a super attractive guy on top of it. It was cruel what happened to him. He should have lived another twenty years. RIP Alan. We won't forget you.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend for the last days =)
I hope that nothing ever happens to Alan's old interviews, and that they always stay available, like betthany has kindly made this one :) Watching and listening to him is such a comfort
To date, I think this still remains my favourite AR interview (and, God knows, I must have seen them all now!!) Despite actually being 45 years old at the time, he looks so much younger & seems just so charmingly shy and sweet, almost boyish at times. ... I'm not saying I don't still find him attractive at the age of 66 (he's still got that 'dignified', classy persona), but, without doubt, for me personally this is the age/era he was at his best ... Oh why do any of us have to get old?! :-)
Alan Rickman is always so gracious and humorous when being interviewed; I can't imagine how anyone could "dislike" this clip. I loved it! Thanks for sharing.
God he's handsome! I'm 18 as well and I just melt at the sound of his voice. None of my friends get it. As far as him as Snape is concerned, I dont think anyone could be better for my favorite HP character of all time.
I don't think I've even seen a comment from 16 years ago on this platform...this is like discovering an artefact. Hope you have friends with more sense these days 😉
"no i'm into making as much noise as possible" LOL! he always makes these small jokes. i wish the brightness of the video was a little less, though. one can only see the shadow under his his nose, brow and his upper lip (not saying that's not enough:D)
I love watching him in interviews, especially the short interviews when nobody asks him anything too probing about his personal life or anything too serious. He will talk about how he feels in that moment or about some funny moment that happened while making a film and it's so much fun. Have you read the Sense and Sensibility Screenplay and diaries by Emma Thompson. She tells a couple of cute stories.
Right, he doesn't have a speech impediment per se. His 'S' pronunciation is a bit sibilant but not enough to be called an impediment. He doesn't lisp or anything. What are these people on about? His vocal tones are beautiful. He's irresistable and totally watchable in any performance. My favourite may just be 'An Awfully Big Adventure' -- so full of passion. And of course 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' -- I'd love to be haunted by Alan Rickman!
I saw that interview. He was asked about having a speech impediment and he said it was absolute rubbish and that the interviewer must have read "THAT BOOK" which was an unauthorized biography. I'll take his word for it. It's not really any of my business anyway. It doesn't change the fact that his voice is amazing. It doesn't change the fact that he's a wonderful actor. So really, does it matter one way or the other if he really has or HAD a speech impediment?
Yes, he is, he has an Innocence about him too. Close my eyes, is a really good movie! One of my favorites of his. He acts like he does in the interview, in the movie too as Sinclair. He's simply perfect and gorgeous in it.
I love his acting though, voice is awesome, like everyone says. I'm watching the "appropriate" movies that have him in it. Of course the Harry potter series, in which I was introduced to him. Then I watched Sense and Sensibility,(My Favorite),the scenes from "Perfume: The story of a murder" ,I'm going to see "Sweeny Todd" and I'm dying to see Snow Cake and Truly Madly Deeply.
This interview was made when Alan Rickman in 199, was the first and last word on everyone's lips in London. He was the most exciting actor at the time. And it was still possible for him to walk down the street
I heard that he had a speech impediment also but then I listened to an interview with him where he completely denied the rumour and said he didn't know how it started...
Um, nope, sorry therealslimlady1982, not true. I heard a VERY RECENT interview in which the interviewer asked about his speech impediment and Alan was bewildered and stated that he never had a speech impediment. That is his NATURAL tone of voice, and his NATURAL way of speaking. Dreamy!!!!!
Well yeah, I guess it might make some people like him more than they would otherwise. He doesn't seem to mind telling stories about himself that are sort of silly and embarrassing and make him human. So for me, at least, it's not necessary to know about things he might not wish to reveal.
I LOVE THIS!!! and apparently, he got his teeth fixed..=) you can tell by the way he talks...=) but even if he didn't, i still love him...and it's funny too because he got his dentist to make him a pair of false teeth that were jagged and not straight so he could use them as a prop in movies..=) like...Harry Potter, and i think Rasputin too..=) but I LOVE THIS INTERVIEW!! thank you for putting this on TH-cam.
Alan himself stated that he never had a speech impediment. I heard the interview in which he said it. Are you honestly going to tell Alan that he's wrong? I think he, of all people, would know whether or not he had a speech impediment.
The perfection did exist ❤He was the most handsome man in the world, the best talent, the most beautiful voice, terrible sexy, not arrogant,he has a great heart and was very very intelligent, cleaver, perfect,no way not to be in love with him, I'm totally feel in love 💕❤❤❤
omg!!!! why does he have to be so cute???? i just love him!!! my boyfriend's jealous of him haha, but hey he cannot compare to alan, can he? love that man!!!!!!!
Good taste in movies!!! 'Snow Cake' is good, but mostly have Sigourney Weaver's scens, as with 'Truly, Madly, Deeply'. Juliet Stevenson is everywhere; he's stated she's the "most difficult actor he's ever worked with". Have a big box of tissues ready for the end. His voice is something, yet when he whispers, it's a bit higher. When he's himself, he tells stories of dismay in his life. It just goes to show he's human like the rest of us. I agree with you, he is a good actor.
I understand exactly what you mean Wirewood, for years I was the only one who understood the beauty of Rickman, after mutliple forced movie screenings and online videos like this one, a few of my friends have turned over to the Rickside. : P
I wasn't saying it was a bad thing...more like that his disability makes his voice so damn sexy! Sorry, I've just always read that he speaks the way he does because he has some sort of tightness in his jaw, or something like that.
Alan is not shy when he wants something. He's just choosing his words carefully. Take from a woman who dates him and knows: he loves women, and he's not single by accident. He likes it that way. I suppose if he ever did find love - what he thinks it is - he'd marry, but he enjoys his freedom.
desico where the heck did you find that quote? From everything I've ever read about him from friends and colleagues, he was described as having only strictly platonic relationships with women other than his long time girlfriend and later his wife, Rima Horton.
09penny1 I agree!! I never read or heard from any accounts that Alan was a womanizer and had an open relationship with his long long time girlfriend (wife).

Beautifully expressed. ♥️

Can’t get enough of him! One of the best actors.
I hope he knew how much he was loved by his colleagues and fans. He was such a kind, witty man.

@@micrae Kind of, yes. Innocent and sexy too at the same time. I love him Soo much!❤️😍🥰😘🙏😇

but oh god he is just so amazing i love him!!!
He has the world's most attractive voice!

How a man can be adorable and attractive that much at the same time! Lovs His innocent smiling face. You will live in my heart, Al, Always.
Why can’t interviewers ask great questions like this woman instead of repeating the same ones nowadays?
Alan, je t'aime. ♥
And call off christmas.
=( sadly he is about 5 times my age ......... but just look at him!! he is so attractive .... there aren't even fitting words
