I have several of these. Slightly different design. The rod on mine as it exits the alarm on the bottom curls into a circle so you have something to hold onto. Instead of a cotter pin on the bottom, near the top on mine you insert a sleeve that locks onto the firing pin preventing it from triggering. You attach the tripwire to the sleeve or whatever you want to call it. Regardless of design these are awesome tools.
I open the shotgun shells and add more powder and also add magnesium shavings. I have three on my property because of pill head/heroin junkies stealing our neighborhood blind! The ones I purchased are a different brand and are of better quality sold by Fith Ops out of Idaho.
Bravo! Ha ha! "In an urban unrest situation....(and you want to also scare the hell out of someone trying to be stealthy-makes the startle even worse!)'' Ha ha! Love it!
I disagree using these type only gives an intruder advance notice that the resident is now aware that they are there. I would want something that silently alerted me only and only once close enough to the home to need attention as I wouldn't want to be reacting to every deer and possum out on a stroll. Noise making devices may temporarily scare them away but they'll return and then avoid that trip wire.
@@marcushennings9513 I see your point, brother, but I was thinking more in situations where I was already watching someone, especially on and off with night vision gear, and NOT where they may expect me to be. I've been contracted by the government to watch some hairy spots and used my own initiative and imagination to keep others away. On my own acreage, I've had similar set ups, and then was already proned out on a shooters mat and camo mesh, at a better vantage point, and had an RPK on a bipod or my used 1100 I modified with a bipod, NV light, headset and a spotlight and green laser as nighttime options for the semiauto 12 gauge.
If you want blanks like the one that came with that alarm just take the shot out of a live round and put hot glue in the shell on top of the wad, this will create enough pressure to make it sound like a blank but not be dangerous.
We use these for bears in Maine but we dump fine bird shot out and replace it with course rock salt. Even if the dumbest animal gets blasted with salt they never forget.
Bladen Rexroth channels have tested these and found that without a barrel, the shot shell going off is 100% ineffective. The only reason 12 gauge buckshot pellets are as deadly as they are is because they have barrel to accelerate down.
Put a piece of black iron pipe about 3 inches long over the shell. Point it in the direction that you want protected. Doesn't even have to be attached to the device, just pushed all the way down over the shell.
I'm a machine shop student and a device like that would be stupid easy to make on a CNC mill or even a manual machine. Have you taken it apart to see what the spring looks like? I'd bet an AR15 recoil spring could be cut in half or thirds and still work.
Take the brass from a spent shell, cut it down to size, drill out the primer and replace it with black powder primers. Reusable and much less expensive.
A smoke grenade head(primer) detonates cheap 209 shotgun primers, costs about $5, is smaller, and available online, at Numrich, Old Sarge, and other surplus outlets.. Also, at gun shows, but cost more.
I got this one at a gun show in Las Vegas, but this was the company selling them there so you can buy one here www.americanspecialtyammo.com/Gadgets.html
Sorry, I got it years ago at a gun show in Vegas, the company's table is called 'High Tech Ammo To Go" and I have only seen them at gun shows. This was a gun show they held at the Sports center, I have not seen them at other shows. This is their website: www.hitechammotogo.com/
I have a number of different types of those. And they work great
the hours you spend spray painting the bright orange shot gun shells , oh the fun we have.
Thank you, George.
Pretty cool device, heard of them and have thought about getting some.

Good video. Really dig the ‘collector/antique’ bore-cleaner cans!
Never heard of this! Thanks!
Never saw those before. Thanks!

Thank you for the video.
Here in the UK 12G blanks cost ten times as much as regular cartridges. Its cheaper to cut down a live one and throw the shot away
Please don’t say it won’t hurt anybody! Ceyanne pepper is a great idsa

A wad can blind you.

You gotta check out our new Lockhart Tactical GEN 2 STATAS Device and do a review on it! There is nothing like it in the world!
Wow just checked out your site, neat stuff would love to test it out!
00 buck, bird shot would have a nice close range blast pattern. Turn a intruder into Lt. Dan

What are you hunting with 00 buck bird shot ostriches. There's no such animal.
Use a chop sticks to put in the end then pushdown on unit! On a table or wooden chair ! It will push it up easily !

lack of update makes me think he shot his eye out
very good. I just want to be woken up when some asshole tries to steal my trump signs again. This should work.
I have them , They work great for all kinds of things.
Interesting!
Loud is the point
how about my old boating flare gun rounds ?....desert terrain application only...

Great idea. I will test that out, and if it works good for me (and I dont screw it up lol) I will do a video on it, Thanks!
Bird shot shells are pretty cheap around my parts. And if you have a primING tool, shotgun primers are dirt cheap.
UPDATE please?
They tend to be more than regular primers
Where can I get that,we live in Fla anything goes

Please say the Las Vegas store more slowly. All I hear is high tech ammo to go. I can’t understand the wording it runs together too fast.
