Hi! Love your lives!! I'm from NB and my Dad was a heavy equipment operator his whole life, wow this really brought back some memories, of course back then they didn't have fancy equipment like this for snow removal and also I'm from a teeny tiny town - actually I'm from a place that isn't even big enough to be called a village. I'm from Fielding which is close to Bristol which is close to Florenceville - "home of the McCains" :)
My Dad was always super busy in the winter months extremely long hours gone most nights if there was a snow storm. He worked for a man who just had a small operation and he was kind of a one man show, so backhoe work to fill a truck, take the truck to dump, return then repeat. He had the strongest upper body from the constant up and down into rigs of all nature. He was a self taught mechanic there wasn't a vehicle made he couldn't take a part and put back together. He only went to grade 8 and then quit school to work full time to help support his family but yet still had this encyclopedic knowledge of all things heavy equipment. He worked in BC in the logging industry, ran logs down the river, drove skidders, transport there was nothing he couldn't drive. Likely his most famous story while driving a big rig was one night hauling a load of freshly cut logs from the woods to the mill it was late at night and I forget the name of the small town but a little further down the river from Hartland, the road kinda hooked and in the hook was a little town lots of houses sort of close to the road, as he approached that hook he lost his brakes, he knew he couldn't make it through the sharp turn and would likely take out at least one house or more, in a split second he made the decision to put er into the Willy wogs and ditched it jumping out at the last minute before it dove into the embankment. He was young in extremely good condition and there was a lot of snow on the ground, he didn't really hurt himself too much some bruises etc. The town gave him a little award for his actions. He undoubtedly saved several lives that night and homes. He was an incredible man who lived a very simple life and enjoyed heavy equipment more than anyone else I've ever met. Sadly he passed away far too young, he passed just a few months before his 65th birthday. Forty years of smoking while the many many hours spent driving a rig of some kind caught up to him and he developed COPD by the time he was 50. He had a double lung transplant in Toronto in Dec. 2003, I had already left home many years ago and lived in Toronto, he came to live with me for 6 months while he waited for the transplant. He then lived with me for several more months after his transplant. Those were the best of times and the worst of times. I was honored to be able to help him when he needed it. Thanks for this video it has truly brought back so many wonderful memories of riding along with my Dad and feeling so proud of all the things he did to keep the road safe for everyone. 💗

I drove heavy equipment for 25 years . It's a very hard job . Most of the Winter is 12 hours a day seven days a week . My back and legs are weak now . The old equipment was rough to drive . No heat no suspension and no seat belt. Smelling deasel.after 12 hours you go home sick . This is every day all winter. And people drive buy and give you the finger for making the streets safe.So respect those people cleaning the roads and sidewalks and you will all get home safe.

Ooooh… seriously, it may be ASMR! It’s a real thing. Check it out. I love watching asmr videos to help me sleep. Many don’t even know it’s a “thing”, but it’s totally a THING! It’s so relaxing! It can be water hitting a tin roof, or a nurse roleplay that gives you “tingles” or watching someone draw… I never knew this about the “tingles” & “zen” until I googled it in 2017 when I was pregnant. Oh what a world of difference it makes when you know what it is & why & know what to look for to help you relax 🤗🤗🤗

They are doing a fantastic job ... but I have to ask why the government is spending money to clear snow that is clearly not affecting traffic? Glad to see that people are employed, however could this money be spent in a better way ???
