All of the much needed tips for a future trip! Good to know about standing to order espresso to save a few euro while on the go, I never would have thought of that! Great insight!

To me, Rome has never been so attractive because of these two reasons: Crowds and prices. So this video is perfect for igniting my interest. Hopefully, I will make a visit one day. Thank you Sarah!

So funny...trying to communicate through traffic and cars 😂, that's real! And also real is the pride of whoever prepares food for you, It´s a genuine way of taking care of each other in Italy. Once, after I ate every single rice grain on my plate, the waiter told me "Giovanna in the kitchen will be happy about it! "

This takes me back. I got such nostalgia at the part where you’re having a 1 EUR coffee and cornetto ! And adventures in Piazza Navona! I’ll follow this guide next time I’m there ❤

I'm fortunate to have friends living in Rome. They took me to places where Romans eat and the prices were moderate and the cuisine fabulous. They also made sure we started the day early. And no, I NEVER visited in July or August. The heat is nearly unbearable. Rome is a wonderful city. Hiring an official tour guide helps to learn so many details often never found in literature.

7 euros for 2 Spritz is very cheap for any Italian city, could be so only because of the Italian toast?! Wouldn’t expect to see Palazzo colonna in a tour guide, those are great tips for locals too :)

Rome is not expensive, if you consider it's a European capital. Cappuccinos at 6 euro or 24 euros for pasta are just serving your narrative here but they only constitute a very minor exception in incredibly touristic areas and the same, and worse, happen abroad. Those, in fact, are the prices tourists pay for the same items in their own contry, in most cases. You'll hardly ever spend more than 1,5 euros for a cappuccno or 15 for a dish of pasta. Aside from that, the tips are legit.

the important thing is that you don't ruin the monuments. for the rest you can do what you want.

The best way is to sit at home, order pizza from your town's best Italian, and watch videos like this. Unless you enjoy having strangers' hands in your pockets.
