Carrie, Pit Stop contains citric acid which can create deadly chlorine gas if mixed with a product containing bleach which is a common additive to laundry products. You should never recommend mixing cleaning products like this. This is probably why the product label recommends washing separately from untreated clothing after application.
Agreed. However, Shout is also a base product with Citric Acid. She just doubled up on it when washing. However, that could have gone badly if she picked another product. Also, I don't think she "recommended" anything. She clearly just willy-nilly combined the two items. One would hope smart people out there on the internet would...i dunno look stuff up before replicating it at home. But as the old adage says "common sense is not common".
For stinky armpits or just polyester that retains sweat soak in either white distilled vinegar, one cup to a bowl of soapy water or salt or bicarbonate of soda and warm water leave overnight scrub particular stains and wash as normal. No need to buy anything.
I was going to comment that as well, I use about a cup of vinegar in the presoaking feature on my washer and it’s gets out all the stinky smells! Great for gym clothes and bedding and completely safe.
An iron for clothes isn't far off from a hair straightener. When I had long hair to my mid back, my mom would iron it sometimes to save my arms (I have thick hair too). We'd put a towel down and turn the iron down to a reasonable temp. My curling iron only works set to 350 for my hair (even with lightweight heavy hold spray). Can confirm it works and wasn't more damaging than the straightener
Well done sewing the rosettes!! I have been sewing for 40+ years and just managed to sew one pant leg to the clothes I'm wearing because I wasn't paying attention!!
I love upcycling thrifted crewneck t-shirts like that, so much cuter (plus not bothering me around the neck because ... sensory issues lol) Love that you're doing these upcycling and getting-your-clothes altering vids and inspire us to get more wear out of our items!
Lmao this was so chaotic I looooved it! I had no idea I had anxiety about such things but watching you just go at with the scissors without pinning or anything had me screaming the whole time! 😂😂😂😂😂
Please keep doing these! I would love to see more ideas you have to upgrade clothes ! Times are hard not everyone can shop for new things. I think its a really cool idea and id like to try to do this with my clothes ❤ thanks girl!
There is a Downy wrinkle releaser spray that you spray your shirt and then hold the fabric a little and then it releases wrinkles . It works really well
if you’re still struggling with the thread with a threader, i find it easier to fold the end of my thread over and hold it (so you’re aiming the bent thread towards the threader), then you can twist or dampen (i usually lick lmao) or both and then try and get it through the threader! i have a shake so i can’t just jam my thread into the eye of a needle or threader, but this method has been pretty sure fire for me :)
Love these kinds of videos!! Omg you should be so proud for trying a new skill that seemed intimidating! I find that the hardest part is just letting go and trying. And then when you pleasantly surprise yourself, it's so rewarding!!
Yes to a Part 2! I loved watching you redo these items and I think they all turned out great. It gave me some ideas on what I can do with some old tshirts that I just don't love how they currently fit.
Ironing can be therapeutic! My bff’s dad was a tailor and he taught us how when we were kids. Our moms were super happy and my dad used to pay me to iron his shirts! I just wish I’d had the mesh things you can buy to put on top of more delicate fabric back then!
Carrie you inspired me to upcycle my thrift finds. I'm not crafty at all but in going to try. Thank you I would love to see more after your fingers heal
If you want to lengthen your clothes, pull it while still damp out of the wash and let it hang. Then when dry pull again and they should be a lot longer. It does work best with natural fibers.
I owned a few cashmere Quince pieces and they absolutely do not do well over time. Mine started pilling SEVERELY within days of light wear. Not worth the money at all.
A lot of sewing TH-camrs will iron on tables but will buy pre-quilted fabric at the fabric store to lay on their table. It’s essentially what they use for ironing boards so it holds up great!

I was thinking this was possible! Thanks for explaining it.
Was hoping someone would comment this. I couldn't have been the only one thinking mixing chemicals willy-nilly is a bad idea

I came here to say something similar, I always use baking soda and stay away from laundry detergent as it makes smells worse.
I was going to comment that as well, I use about a cup of vinegar in the presoaking feature on my washer and it’s gets out all the stinky smells! Great for gym clothes and bedding and completely safe.
This hairstyle with that top and those glasses!!!! ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN STUNNIN!!!
the methods might be chaotic but the results are **chef's kiss**
Just use a bath towel folded under your garment when ironing on a tabletop.

Great tip, thank you!!
Girly, get a rotary cutter!! It makes chopping the end of tshirts or whatever sooooo much easier
**googles rotary cutter**
@@CarrieDayton As someone who's been sewing their own clothes scine 2020 I've come to add I LOVE my rotary cutter.
The color of that off the shoulder top is amazing on you!
"im trying my best to be straight, but these things happen... Story of my life" 💀lol that was great
This outfit you’re wearing today is so good. I saw it on your vlog and thought it looked great but also “elevated simple”
That is sooo nice, thank you so much!! 🫶
Well done sewing the rosettes!! I have been sewing for 40+ years and just managed to sew one pant leg to the clothes I'm wearing because I wasn't paying attention!!
Sewing the little flowers was the PERFECT idea! I've got to try that one!
Carrie i'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! I know sewing is something you've mentioned being very against sewing and you did it!
Part 2 please I could watch these forever 🥰
agreed!
I love personalizing and flipping (thrifted) clothes. It's so much fun and I appreciate the items even more after that.
Wow your sponsors have been so great lately!! So happy for you 🥰

What you’re smelling in the camouflage might be the soap/scent hunters put on their clothing to blend in with their nature surroundings
I’m so glad you said this bcuz I was absolutely baffled thinking a shirt just had residual BO

Your ‘I LOVE this!!’ facial expression @14:52 gets me every time, LOVE IT!! 😂😂😂

That sounds life changing! As the designated laundry person I am going to need to get some of that
@GoiterGoblin yes it is life changing! I used to hate having to iron or not put on a t-shirt because it was wrinkled. It's a must try!
love you whole color palette for this look! it fits you so well.
Part II yes please Carrie. Well done on reviving and updating/changing these items. ❤️
The shorts and cropped shirts, good job!
More videos like this please
Your hair looks so good like this and I love your top too 😍
The results were soo good. The last one especially was just the cutest! 💜💜
I love how the cardigan came out! So cute!

So stoked for this up-cycling video!!
Carrie you are one of my favorite youtubers! And I am always excited to see you post

This was fun and inspiring. I hope you get a lot more wear out of those items. I am going through my pile immediately 😊
I love the fact that you are able to just wing it and not stress about perfection - I am also like this!
De-wrinkling tip- spray with wrinkle release and pop in the dryer on the wrinkle setting. Clothes come out like they have been pressed.

Wow all of them look so good.
I'd love to see a part 2
Go Carrie go! So proud you tried sewing!
Big slay! Love the last one in particular and would love to see more thrift flips!
This was awesome, I had no idea about that ironing thing, can't tell you how many things I've let go of because of the shrinking hem 🤦🏻♀️
after seeing you in that navy cardigan, i'm convinced you must be a true winter!
If you put a folded towel on your desk when ironing it will protect the surface. I’m lazy when it comes to ironing
You look so great in the Quince items. Love the burgundy.
The sweater is so precious 😍🌸
Another thing you can try to combat odors is vodka in a spray bottle. It's a common trick in theatre because you can't often wash costumes.
I love the way these pieces turned out! Especially the sweater! 💛
Normalize giving clothes a 2nd life vs donating 🥰 I'm all for this
I loved this vlog! The sweater looks great!!
That last sweater is so freaking cute! Awesome job! Way to step out of your comfort zone! I couldn't have done it.
2 seconds into in the intro -- and your look is a total slay!

I literally love, love, love cutting my tees like you did! It really makes them so much cuter 🫶🏼
The sweater with the flowers looks amazing 🥰, great job, Carrie 👍
Carrie: some people may see this though and feel so seen
Me: it’s me. I’m people.
Love seeing all the different easy diys that are available to change our clothes!!
Your hair looks great love the color 🎉❤❤
You look so cute in this vlog!! The color of the top is so complementing to you!!
The glasses at the table with your hair up is giving sophisticated newscaster in the best way! ❤
love your (fellow) ADHD queen energy 🌟
Love this kind of video! I would love to see more thrift flips👍
Carrie is literally me 😂 also had no idea ironing can lengthen skirts that shrink!
Getting my scissors ✂️ out now 😂❤
Carrie you inspired me to upcycle my thrift finds.
I'm not crafty at all but in going to try.
Thank you
I would love to see more after your fingers heal
the rugby shirt looks SO CUTE
Those rosettes are so stinking cute! ❤
“Don’t underestimate the power of the pull.” Hahahahaha
Love the navy blue cardigan on you. Great color!
I loved this type of video!! you're the best!
Put a towel or blanket on your desk, protects the desk
lol my husband has that TLC tee in blush pink and cut the sleeves off it-he gets nothing but compliments every time he wears it 😂
Uh oh mixing chemicals 😵

Pt2 ! This was awsome…. And ur right everyone doesn’t know everything 😂
Would love to see a part 2! Great job on everything 😁
Hi Carrie, I like that you are going outside of your comfort zone and you look beautiful ♥️
Obsessed with the sweater! Also, don't feel bad I just learned out how to use a needle threader this year and I had to look up a tutorial...🤣
Part II yes please Carrie that would be great
Omg yesssss I also don’t care about wrinkly clothes and my husband is like no way! Hahaha
This is how I thrift flip, only I typically do it 5 minutes before I need to leave with said item on lol😂
Oh for smells, use tide sports and lysol SPORT laundry disinfectant
I had no idea about the ironing thing. I too am not an ironing person, but I will do this for a dress I have. Thank you!
I wish I lived close to you! I would love to help you do these things! I do enjoy sewing and all the crafty things.
Proud of you for sewing, I can sort of sew but I’m not great at it. I love hot the sweater turned out!
“Lets cut shit up!” Hahahaha
I literally laughed out loud when she said that.
Thanks for the tips Carrie! Who knew??!
I really like how you have your hair in this video 😊
What a fun video!!!!
I always just iron on top of a towel
You could put a towel on your table and iron on that
I owned a few cashmere Quince pieces and they absolutely do not do well over time. Mine started pilling SEVERELY within days of light wear. Not worth the money at all.
Where is that top from!
"Trying to be as straight as possible" ... "The story of my life" LOL, relatable
Carrie, I am reaching for the scissors and my neglected tees....
Hi Carrie another up cycling video would be fantastic. You did an awesome job!
Would love a part 2, and to get updates on these pieces!

I have just added extra elastic two of my skirts waistbands it only took 30 mins and now I know I will wear them as they won’t be pinching.
Girl I just wanted to let you know how beautiful you look in this video. That shirt was made for you. I need it lol you are stunning
You should be able to get rid of put smell by washing with vinegar. Add a cup to a half load.
