Your talk about selling fakes is hitting home today. I listed 2 bracelets in auction that i picked up for 1.00 each. Looked like your garden variety fashion, not expensive. I listed them both and had bids, both were pulled last night. Trying to figure out exactly why. I didn't use a brand name, they had no stones, weren't silver. I didn't list as fine jewelry.
Speaking of counterfeit or off brand items…. I once bought a lot of Lego minifigures. Turns out they were counterfeit. No Lego stamp on the inside. Small and hard to see but once you know to look for it, easy to spot.
Lego figures don't usually have the Lego stamp on them they'll have numbers and letters.. So you might have thrown away a bunch of real figures 😂 only the bricks say Lego indefinitely. I actually can't think of a figure that I've seen the Lego stamp. It just says "b3" etc
My big whale that I’m looking for is a first edition, Harry Potter and the sorcerer Stone. It won’t have a number one on the spine because they weren’t sure it was going to sell enough to be a series.
I slipped up on a pair of Ray Bans..they were counterfeit and I was naive in not confirming them. The buyer was super cool and I just refunded them. However I did sell a legit pair of Gucci sunglasses I grabbed for $5 once, I research the crap out of them and there seemed no way they weren't real (the Gucci store would not confirm or deny the authenticity..kinda of gave me a wink where I understood them to be real)..
Counting puzzle pieces doesn't mean anything. You would have ti literally put it together to make sure it's complete. A 1000 pc puzzle may have 999 pieces or it could have 1069 pieces. The number on the box isn't exact.

I brought a bible i believe it was from 1896 that had someone's personal family tree in it on one of the blank pages with a separate page slipped in with more of a family tree added and the empty page before had a written note in it halfway down. . i couldn't read it, it was in german, oh the bible was in german too but what i could decipher it sounded like it was a gift to someone at one time. anyways i listed it on ebay and i got a message asking me how i got that bible? told them i brought it at goodwill. then they asked goodwill in whatever eastern state?( don't remember what state they said) that they were in and i said no goodwill in wi. that i was never in that state. then we communicated back and forth more and turns out that was his family bible that they grew up with. when they went to clean out their parents house estate all the kids were looking for this bible but the bible was gone. . None of them had a clue where it went until i posted it on ebay. They still had no clue how it got to Wi. that no one from the family ever been in Wi. he even explained that the bible has been past down on his dad's side and it was a gift to some female relative that it was addressed to when she went thru the church confirmation? or whatever it is called when you go from kid to an actual church adult member and she was the one that started putting the family tree in it and it always got past down and continued on. he did have an idea what time frame it disappeared by a few obits missing at the end but no clue how it got cross country halfway. felt good to get the family bible back to them.

When you ship those new ceiling fans, do you put them in a cardboard box or just slap a label on the original box and send them that way?
