    1. Belted Notes
For a note to be considered Golden, it must be consistently "perfect" in the vocalists' range. They must be able to sustain it with resonance, and be able to sing it with resonance on a very consistent basis.
    Golden: 3.0 points
    Ringing inconsistent/consistently grounded: 2.5
    Grounded inconsistent: 2
    Free consistent: 1.75
    Inconsistently free: 1

Underbelts are notes that are ringing under the vocalists' starting note, and as Lara is a soprano that means notes under G4. They can either earn 1 point for inconsistent resonance, or 1.5 for consistent.
    2. Low Notes
    Golden: 2.0

    7. Vocal Control:
    Here is Stamina explained!
1/4: First Song vs Last Song: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to sing the last song in their concert just as well as the first.
2/4: First Show vs Last Show: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to perform their last show in a tour to the same height as their first.
3/4: This point is earned if the vocalist did not rely on lipsyncing to perform their more challenging songs.
4/4: This point is earned if the vocalist consistently adds ad-libs that are not in the studio versions of their songs to their live performances.
    8. Vocal Effects:
For each skill that the vocalist is capable of, they earn a point. If they are a master of this skill, they earn two points.
    9. (Lack of) Vocal Issues: Here, if the vocalist has any major issues, they are deducted a varying amount of points from the ten given in this category.
    10. Consistency/Longevity: If the vocalist has struggled with consistency in the past or has drastically declined from their prime, they will have points deducted in this category from 5.
    CVSS Updates:
    1. Lara has a fully grounded G3, found • Lara Fabian's Supporte... here. This changes her G3 to inconsistently grounded, changing her score in lows from 6 to 6.5 and overall score from 110.75 to 111.25.
    2. Lara has a free F#3 found by DiegoSanta, but I don't have a link. This changes her F#3 to inconsistently free, making her score in lows go from 6.5 to 7, and her overall score from 111.25 to 111.75.
    **
    Morissette’s Stamina Category:
¼: Morissette does not show signs of tiredness often after her last song in an average setlist.
2/4: Throughout her last tour, her last show was just as or even more climactic and energetic as the first, vocally and on a performance level.
¾: Morissette does not have any sort of history with lip-syncing to my knowledge.
4/4: Morissette CONSISTENTLY adds runs and ad-libs to her songs and covers of other songs.

    • @jamesrawlins735
      @jamesrawlins735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Well she's pretty big in the Philippines. Worldwide, it's tougher for any ballad singer to really break through. Can you think of a ballad singer being big in the US in the past 15 years? Celine Dion was over 20 years ago, as were Josh Groban and Michael Buble. To be honest, her best known performances are doing covers, and it's hard to really achieve superstardom when you dont really have much original songs (Adele would not be the huge star she is without all those great songs). Asking why Morissette isn't bigger is like asking why So hyang isn't bigger - it isn't talent.

Ignorance, pandemic is not like she doesn’t have viral songs, bad timing because of the Covid 19, AKNL her original song attracted vocal coaches and reactors worldwide, just a matter of time now she’ll be well known in North America 🇺🇸 recently of the Threelogy concert, and the second one the falls, Her headliner Concert in Dubai on May 2022 all this year and still early. Morissette Signature EP Album// From The Sea EP..So surely is happening for Morissette and a new written song for her singing on Miss Universe Philippines 2022 🇨🇦so David Stoke-Lopez don’t worry be happy for Mori 💯

  • @JoeyAndamo

A young Morissette Amon (25 yrs old) is not on the level of a "prime" Celine Dion, but, I will say that the potential is there, based on how well-developed her chest voice is (i.e. TA muscle engagement). She has the widest chest voice range in her class, I believe. Though her voice hasn't fully matured yet (you can tell by the inconsistency of her low range, typical of a lyric soprano), she has a very, very powerful middle range, atypical of young sopranos. Her mid-belts have a lot of core, with ping and a consistent vibrato. A lot of her younger performances show a lack of polish and refinement typical of young, aspiring vocalists, but the potential is so tremendous. You'd have to go to her post-2021 performances to really see how much she's grown vocally. Her low range has improved drastically (See her 2022 live rendition of Adele's "When We Were Young"), and she's now learning to thin out her chest voice better to have better freedom up to A5 (See her 2022 short rendition of Cynthia Erivo's "Glowing Up"). Her artistry is also greatly improved (See her latest live band performance of "Gusto Ko Ng Bumitaw"). She just turned 26 this month. Female vocalists typically reach their prime around 32-33. Morissette needs a lot more polish, but IF she continues to progress at this rate, she has the potential to be really great, possibly the best of her generation.

Dimash they said has 6 octaves, and Morissette Amon has 5.4 octaves however Morissette is so versatile compared to Dimash. She can sing & perform in any genre & delivers her song perfectly with so much emotions that can be felt by her listeners. Her emotional colorful timbre/tone, squeak, growl and whistle come so easy for her especially when performing lives shows!
What more can I say? She maybe underrated as she is at present being promoted by Philippine internationally unlike US promoters who spend millions when it comes to international promotion of their singers to be known worldwide

If anyone is interested in seeing the latest development in Morissette's vocals, you must check out her latest live band performance of an original song in her native tongue, "Gusto Ko Ng Bumitaw" (Translation: "I Want To Let Go", a song about a woman that wants to leave her adulterous husband). She has greatly improved in her technique/artistry. Morissette has superior vocal technique, and the technique she uses has a *very high degree of difficulty* that a casual listener won't necessarily comprehend because the things she is doing happen so seamlessly and so fast, you barely even notice it. *She has tons of nuance in the vocal chord closure skills.* She's got a lot more grey area between those light sounds, those medium sounds, and those heavy sounds than most vocalists. Hers is one, long, grey spectrum, from the lightest to heaviest sounds, with no gaps in the compression skills. She can go from ANY volume, ANY timbre variation, ANY distortion, ANY tone modification, ANY vowel - you, name it, she can do it at any point in a song, as demonstrated in this live performance. She seamlessly changes the texture and colour of different syllables and phrases, with stylistic intent, and with a high degree of difficulty. She used different types of vocal distortion in this one to suit the emotion of the song. Her switching from airy to clear to gritty sound, from soft to loud, (dynamics) is very quick and seamless, and very difficult to achieve especially on the belted notes. She has exceptional skills, and I hope the casual listener will learn to appreciate what she's doing. She is a generational vocal talent, in my opinion, and time will tell how far she can go (she just turned 26).
Heres the link to her latest performance: th-cam.com/video/Qx3YE5Wmhko/w-d-xo.html

For those complaining why Morissette scored higher than Celine, keep in mind that Camden's scoring system is purely rooted on vocal pedagogy. It is evaluating the quality of the vocalist's notes throughout all vocal registers. Also, the extra points are given for additional technical abilities, such as vocal effects, whistle tone, etc.. This is really not a measure of who is the greatest singer, because a measure of a great singer is not just in technique, but also in their ability to interpret the song (i.e. stage craft, artistry), which Celine is a master of. Camden doesn't add this in his grading system. Nevertheless, his grading system is reliable in evaluating the technical ability of a vocalist. Morissette, at 25 years of age, has already demonstrated mature technical ability. Is she as polished a performer/technician as prime Celine? No! Morissette needs more polish and refinement, even in her techniques. But from a purely technical standpoint, Morissette is one of the most technically gifted vocalists today, rooted in her very developed chest voice (atypical of young sopranos), which is the foundation of everything in singing.

    • @hewhomustnotbenamed2864
      @hewhomustnotbenamed2864 ปีที่แล้ว +4

There's a simple explanation to this.
Does Celine have whistle register which is one of the components of this scoring system? No.
Does that make her less of a vocalist than Morissette? Absolutely not.

classic vocal timbre, of classical / operatic vocal training.
it is in fact a lyric soprano, with an anonymous vocal timbre.
it cannot whistle, and it has low notes, practically non-existent.
your idol does not know how to use vocal ornaments, which are mainly used in modern music, because in opera music they are not used.
can do, school level Run and riffing, growl, vocal distortion, voice controlled sigh whispering and much more etc.

This is this community in a nutshell.
    Jojo is a mezzo soprano.
Jojo "supports" higher than sopranos even though she's a soprano herself
Jojo's tension issues ignored because she's supposedly a mezzo soprano.
Morissette Amon can't "support" above C5/C#5, but somehow the pushy and valsalva ridden notes of Ailee are somehow "supported"
    High larynx = strain
Support = good placement, no tension, or no strain
So Hyang always "supporting" although she has moments of valsalva tension as well
    Ariana strains above B4
Morissette's microphone has reverb masking her tension even though countless K-Pop singers uses heavily reverbed microphones and digital enhancing on their voices.
    Celine Dion strains above D5/Eb5
    Tori Kelly strains above D5
Tori Kelly's highest mixed notes are "masked place head voice"
    Whitney Houston strains above E5
Filipina singers can't support above C5
Do you notice how singers with better chest development are always accused of "dropping support" above certain notes?
Do you notice mostly Filipina singers are targeted by KPop stans and other stans groups?
Do you notice the constant misuse of the word support and strain is being done by the same group of people with the exact same talking points?
Do you notice how the same group of people don't understand the difference between belting and mixing?
Do anyone else see what I see? These KPop avatar bots or channels are mostly spreading misinformation and lies.

First of all not all kpop stans say “reverb makes morissette Amon voice sounds like she resonates”, and even if they do, they also acknowledge that their fav also use reverb. So there’s no need to bring that up.
Second of all, Filipina singers are targeted by other stan group not only kpop, and most kpop stan doesn’t even bother to hate on Filipina singers aside from some trollers in this community. Filipino stans are known for their toxicity and they clearly, say it straight out in their comment that they support their fav because they’re from filipinos. Filipino also attack singers from other asian country. But you don’t point it out in your comment and only point at “kpop stan” behavior.
And mostly filipinos stan behavior are way more disgusting and toxic. They usually say sohyang is a “screaming cat” and other offensive things. The percentage of toxic Filipino stan/ Filipino stan are larger than the percentage of toxic kpop stan/ kpop stan as well.
Third of all, not all singers with chest development are accused of dropping support, like ariana.
The only valid point you make is that Filipino singers are accused of dropping support above C5 and the ailee vs morissette one

Other sopranos have better support in lows than Morissette like Tori Kelly, Natalie Weiss, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin etc. Her head voice only supports up to G5 and above that, the sound gets thinner and strain. Some sopranos and even mezzos like Beyonce and Jojo have better head voice than Morissette as they support higher (Bey = Eb6, Jojo = C6). You are also wrong about her "golden notes" for belting notes. Golden notes supposed to be the notes that the singer can at least support them very well. Morissette supported belt notes only extends up to Eb5 but very inconsistent as she forces to sing them with high larynx and ends up strain. Her consistent aka golden notes is C5/C#5.

Morissette can never be praised for her vocal skills because people are threatened by her talent. It is what it is. Then you'll have people misusing the word support, misusing the word strain, and spreading myths about her technique that has already been debunked. I know how this misguided community works. They mostly do this to her and Ariana, but no one else. They'll overlook other singers' flaws, but quick to point out hers or Ariana's. They'll ignore excessive tension issues in singers like Jojo and Ailee, but people are still saying that her highest "supported" belt is Eb5 and she's consistent up to C5/C#5, which is false. They can't handle the fact that she's serious competition. People will overlook the lack of core and valsalva maneuver issues in South Korean singers, but are so quick to nitpick Morissette's issues. There's so much brainwashing and anti-intellectualism in this community that needs to be called out continuously. These people are so damn ignorant, but don't even realize it. People who love coreless, valsalva ridden, and underdeveloped chest voice singers are going to be the ones who criticize her the most. I was anticipating this.

@@ThePianoguy89 Finally! Every time she sings the climax it sounds like she is forcing out of nothing! I am her fan for many many years but I am shocked to see people say that those notes are great. I am not very confident to directly point that out in my community because there are certain people in the community, and I guess you know whom they are, that will fiercely go on an essay-long debate calling me out. So Ailee is free and open but Ariana cannot even support a Bb4??? 😑 Let alone the fact that many who use the word support has no clue what it means. They also happen to appreciate only a particular set of singers, and many of those lack a core in their voice, but somehow they have been hailed as the Star Vocalists…

I guess mezzos are supposed to struggle with high notes, which is an insult to actual mezzos who have great high notes like Melonie Daniels.

Those head voice as well i wouldn't give Her above G5

You're a mess. Another hater who has no idea what you're talking about. Every adult voice has a high larynx when belting high. A high larynx is crucial for high belting. She's projecting her lows without a microphone and that is something that most KPop singers can't do. Her head voice notes are still free above G5. Lara Fabian's chest voice is underdeveloped.
