13:50 In a Snow Bound Land This song is very strong, I close my eyes and I get to see myself with my ten years playing DKC2. The soundtrack of this game is a journey back in time, thank you David Wise for your work!
I'm so glad everyone feels the way I do about this music. It's more than music, it's soothing, creative, and a great credit to the game, especially Stickerbrush.
Literally one of my favorite games of all time. This collection instantly takes me back to my childhood. On another note, why aren't Dixie Kong and K. Rool playable characters in Smash Bros yet? Nintendo come on!
This is fantastic. Captures the mystery and adventure of Donkey Kong Country 2's soundtrack while remembering its melancholy and grittier aspects. 10/10 I've got a new work jam.
Es increible como melodias de tu infancia te llenan de emocion hasta las lagrimas, me genera miles de cosas que es dificil de explicar y solo agradeces al destino de haber topado con semejante juego con semejante musica detras. Dificil de contener las lagrimas
Your transition are LEGENDARY, its feels real smooth, better than DJ are rave. I dont like comparing, but Finally a mix than changes BPM ! Its fresh and variable. Very good job !
The nostalgia is strong in this...and I've never even touched the game! Your transitions are as great as ever. The whole journey flows splendidly. This may be my favorite of your medleys yet. CB
That's actually perfectly possible. It's a subtle and nuanced experience, but it happens to many people every day. Sometimes a person can vicariously absorb the aesthetic of something they weren't really part of and get a vivid sense of the emotional impact said thing might have had on similarly minded people. This can also happen when something is reminiscent of an era in general, enabling the mind to easily fill in the gaps. It's actually a well documented phenomenon. On a technicality, maybe it's not literal nostalgia, but "vicarious nostalgia".
It is understandable if you disagree, but there is no reason to mock others. There is no reason to give answers to someone with no questions. We are here to enjoy Rebecca's hard work. So I ask that you apologize for your rudeness and we can be friends, or otherwise go away.
That is because the game masterpieces of old had good soundtracks, with soul. You are probably relating to that. Most of the music of today's good games feel generic. For example, they awarded Doom which is pretty much your average heavy metal song (and I like heavy metal). Nowadays, with some exceptions, I can hardly make the connection between a song and a game if it's not the main theme.
You've never played the game, and yet it feels nostalgic to you, as it does to those of us who grew up with it. My friend, there's something special about that!
Wow . . . This is amazing! You make stunning music! This is _so_ nostalgic! I remember playing this back in 1995! That was almost 20 years ago today! I was only about 12! I play DKC1 every year when autumn approaches, and I play DCK2 too, just before winter, because that's when I got it so long ago for the SNES! Shortly before the holidays! I remember finding everything, and it was challenging at first, but it became so enjoyable! I got really good! Memories! Thank you so much!
I was listening to this music 3 years ago during the preparation of my wedding with my family. This game marked my childhood in particular with its so particular atmosphere, and, living by the sea, has a close theme. I still listen to this music these days and my 2 and a half year old son loves it too! Can't wait to play DKC2 with him.
I don't know why, but every time u upload a new video I'm acting like a little kid on christmas lol. I love everything u do even tho I never played DKC, that doesn't keep me from loving this. U are amazing
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I don't know what else to say except; you deserve attention and appreciation. Thank you for being you, thank you for this outstanding piece of auditory art.
I listened to this imagining how great would be if they do a remake from the old games, David Wise is a great compositor and you succeeded in absolving the essence of his soundtracks, you did great :D
Fuck, now I want another one with some of the tracks you didn't cover, because this is fucking glorious! Although slightly dissapointed about the lack of Boss Bossanova, Crocodile Cacophany, Primal Rave, and my personal favorite track, Bayou Boogie.
Well, I'm 100% going to do a standalone Bayou Boogie. It's actually one of my favorites as well. I just, for whatever reason, couldn't fit that track anywhere in this medley and keep the flow.
That was amazing. Donkey Kong 2 will forever be in my heart, a truly gem from the SNES! You did a great job and my day is better because of you. Thanks!
Krool disliked this.....it's the only explanation! This compilation is AMAZING! I love it! I don't have a musical bone in my body so I truly appreciate the hard work put into this.
Brilliant, favourite transitions are: going into Hot Head Bop, and then the transition going into Disco Train. Thanks Rebecca - I've been coming back to this video since 2017 :)
It's one of mine too. I'm glad I grew up with gaming when I did. I couldn't imagine being a kid now, looking back on these games and saying "Nintendo sucks, This sucks" "CALL OF DUTY!!!!" "SHOOTGAME!" "GRAAAAAAAAAAAAPHPPPHIIICCCSXXXX"""
Forest Interlude and Stickerbrush Symphony are some of my favorite songs in the game, and you simply NAILED them. Absolutely beautiful. I'm going to start pouring through your other videos, 'cause this is great.
That was amazing, I'm speechless! Or, well, since you asked, I especially enjoyed the beginning with all the pirate-themed tracks and your transitions were very good. This is my first time listening to any of your work and I just sat through the whole 20 minutes just taking it all in without noticing the time go past. I'm definitely here to stay.
Kee... you've really outdone yourself here. I've been following your progress with this project for a while, and while the WIP clips you've been posting all along have been fantastic, I have to say, hearing the entire finished product from start to finish is just breathtaking. I listened to all of it, and never once did you lose me. There's a sense of cohesion you get here that isn't as easily noticeable from listening to the constituent pieces. I also applaud your choice of this game-- I have fond memories of playing it as a kid, and the music always stood out to me. As I listened here, I really got hit by wave after wave of nostalgia. You've taken a game soundtrack that was already very strong, and truly put your own mark on it. Overall, Kee, great job! I know how hard you worked on this, and it really shows! One of these days, we really have to come up with some Sonic tracks for you to work with. ;)
Absolutely beautiful. The transition from each theme is seamless. This is the best Stickerbush remix ive heard; you manage to capture the bittersweetness that makes that piece so memorable. And looking at your video list, it looks like you've done quite a lot of soothing video game music remixes. Thank you for all your effort.
DKC2 and SMW for the SNES were my introduction to video games. My grandfather and I played them together a lot and sometimes I get to missing him. During those times it makes it a bit easier to remember the good times by listening to music from those games. So thank you for giving me something to listen to ^^
Thanks a million or making this!! Donkey Kong Country was I believe the first game I ever played (I was four) and I poured hundreds of hours into the three of them. I have nothing but the best memories of these games, regularly pausing the game to listen to the soundtrack in awe (I'm looking at you, Mining Melancholy, Forest Interlude, Flight of the Zinger and Stickerbrush Symphony!). To hear how someone put so much time and effort into their own versions is incredible. It's ALSO cool to see the beautiful fanart and read the nostalgic stories down here in the comments. So an overall huge THANK YOU, Rebecca and everyone who contributed to this piece of art :D
After all these years, I still think that DKC2 has the best soundtrack ever produced for a videogame. All the themes are still stuck into my head !

Ocarina of Time and DKC2 are tied in my opinion. Both are amazing
