Heck, I didn't buy a Switch, even for Breath of the Wild. I didn't know about the remake until a few minutes ago (yeah I know I'm late) and I INSTANTLY knew I had to buy a Switch. Link's Awakening is a gaming masterpiece that got nearly forgotten because it was trapped as a Game Boy exclusive. It needs this remake.
These are the lyrics I wrote for Ballad of the Windfish: On your shore, in the eve, below the moonlight Every dream I have wished for in sight What lies beyond it? Where will I be and what will I find? Here, under the clouds, I fear… I’m dreaming… There’s a light shining bright, behind a mountain. Dare I fly as the gulls toward that sun I’ll sleep forever The dreamer need not open his eyes Yet still, where is my star? Dare I ask- who am I? I’ve a home far away I dread to think on But it burns like a flame in my heart! The waves are churning. A voice is calling me to the sea. Her words, they are the sun... In my heart Who’s singing?
+RebeccaETripp Awesome, I've been waiting for this. ^_^ Link's Awakening is a great game, especially concerning its launch-platform... Though the GameBoy had a few other gems tbh.... But your EOM does the game more than justice. *pokes* No more badmouthing your own singing please. T_T It's beautiful and fits with the theme. XD As it has done before. ^_~
And you do. =D You have a wealth of experience with composing, which shines through in how you have handled the singing. OTOH, Marin (going by the game) wasn't singing for a living either. She just liked doing so. Thus, I don't think say an opera-diva could've done the song... Never mind a playbacking wannabe superstar. XP XD Have you tried hypnotizing animals with your voice btw? Just kidding, but I couldn't resist.
Sparkbomber Actually, I've successfully affected animals with my music on numerous occasions. On a llama farm, they once followed me around as I played tin whistle and gathered around. :) Another time, I was practicing my lap harp in one of the nearby woods and an owl flew to a low branch to listen- I imagine he had never heard something like that before. :) Of course, my cats also enjoy it when I play piano- but not flutes! Cats' ears are very sensitive if flutes and other woodwinds are played indoors! Aside from that, various cats and dogs have also enjoyed my singing. ^^
I had to play the entire game without sound so hearing this definitely fills that hole in my heart. Sucks that I had to play the Zelda game that so heavily involves many instruments in its plot without actually hearing any of them.
This was probably my favourite and most played game on the Gameboy - was great to listen to these fantastic versions. Brings back many happy memories. Great music and artwork - thanks for taking the time to put this all together.
Alright my favorite gameboy Zelda being remade! One of my favorites because of the setting and story. I encourage Nintendo to remember this boy when making the next new Zelda because Link's Awakening shows how creative and deep your plot can get even with a colorful and calm setting.
Absolutely beautiful medley. Especially loved the vocals/lyrics at the end and artwork, but overall, it was a fantastic arrangement to one of my all-time favorite games. Well done Kee! ^_^
Played at gameboy as a child...I learned English with this story....cut every bush, seek out everthing...I realised that is perfect metafor for this life dream...let s bring heaven on earth and wake up together :)
For a guy that played Links Awakening as their first LOZ game, I'm always a sucker for this soundtrack. This medley is amazing on all levels. Good use of instruments, and the mood for all of the songs are true to the events. If you haven't already, listen to the SecondNarrators soundtrack for Links Awakening. It's a good second opinion for the music.
Hehe, I've heard everything on his channel multiple times. ^_^ We're acquaintances! Did you ever see his playthrough of LA with his soundtrack in place of the OST? It's quite fascinating how well it goes, even though it recontextualizes the game a bit for me. It kind of feels like I've personally played through two different versions of Link's Awakening after that, and they were both amazing! Thanks for your comment/feedback!
This game has been such a large part of my life (I've played it more times than I can count), and this medley feels so full of love for it that it's almost palpable. Thanks for making something so beautiful.
Your work really is astounding. It's transporting. These medleys are an experience in themselves and I felt truly swept away by this! Link's Awakening is a very, very special game to me, perhaps more special than any other, and this is a beautiful tribute to it. Thank-you so much for creating and pouring your heart into your work!
I just absolutely adore the "Instrument Room" part of the track! It reflects the magical feeling of finding the instrument after a hardfought and hard-solved trek through the dungeons... I love the soundtrack for LA!!! It's just so gorgeous
I usually avoid fan orchestrations of game music because of how uninspired it is, but this is fantastic and brings a lot of originality to it, without losing the "feel" of Link's Awakening. Great work.
Wow... Nicely done Miss. Link's Awakening means the world to me and between you and TheSecondNarrator orchestrating the game's soundtrack, it's nice to know there are people out there who care about this game as much as me. You honestly gave me goosebumps with your rendition of Tal Tal Heights and Ballad of The Windfish in the best possible way. Honorable mentions go to the Mysterious Woods, Mabe Village, and of course the overworld theme. Heck, you made me appreciate the Piece of Power/ Guardian Acorn track, a Piece which I can't stand in the original game. I can't tell you how much this means to me. Truly I thank you. Keep up the good work girl ^-^
Everything about this is beautiful. I've been playing a randomizer recently, and all of the memories of the first Zelda game I played kept coming back. This medley captures how it first felt hearing this stuff years and years ago. Would you be opposed to people using this on livestreams and such? It's just amazing
Wow, thank you very much for this. It takes me back to my childhood, when I was playing this game. I remember almost crying at the end, when the island vanishes as a dream. Today, some of that wonderful emotions came back thanks to your music. Thank you very much. I hope you will succeed with what you do because it is beautiful. Keep it up ;)
Omg! I heard the vocals for the ballad and I was in tears, never heard anything so beautiful, the whole thing was put together so well, can't stop tearing up remembering playing this for so long, finally a realization of what our imagination always knew what was a fantastic and extraordinary adventure

I don't know if CT is you thing or not, but one never knows! ^_^ Have a nice day!
Unbelievable! I didn't comment on this yet? Whereas your TP medley is unrivaled in many ways, including the way it expresses your love for the *characters* of that game, this medley (especially the beginning and the OH-MY-GOD amazing ending with your exquisite version of Ballad of the Wind Fish) conveys your love for the fictional *world* of the game like nothing else can. And I do mean "love"; most people overuse the word when they talk about their favorite things on a shallow level--but you really very clearly love these elements of fiction, interaction, and music and the expression of that love is a blessing to us all.
After having listened to both many times, I think this medley is pulling ahead of the TP medley in my esteem. It's just that good. TP is easily my favorite LoZ and your medley for that is so intricately skilled and profound. But there's a special, intense spiritual longing to this one, both in its many amazing parts and in its whole, that manages to weave through without compromising the at-times playful and epic sections of the collected tunes. All of this gives the medley an artistic quality that sets it above your other medleys. By logical extension, that makes this the most profound medley ever composed for a video game.
This is a beautiful remix to one of the best games ive ever played. You did very well with the right amount of touch these themes deserve. Beautiful voice as well
This gives me goosebumps and brings tears of joy to my eyes every time, makes me remember when my parents bought me Link's Awakening for the GB Pocket in KB Toys a century ago. I'm forever grateful Rebecca Happy holidays!
WOW, I know I just had a very similar freakout about your BotW medley, but this one is just as extraordinary. The level of care you've brought to each track is unreal, and the vocals really sell Ballad of the Windfish at the end. Windfish is a song that's been covered a near infinite number of times, and yet you've made it so fresh here, and it feels so fitting for the game. Such a delight to listen!
good golly, this is beyond words gorgeous...Link's Awakening has been a special game for me, having been the game that introduced me to Legend of Zelda when I was like 10 or so playing it at my cousins house. Hearing each melody re-orchestrated just fills me with nostalgia especially hearing the Get Sword melody
This game will always hold a special place in my heart, even though I think the Oracle games overshadow it, and Minish Cap is the technical perfection of the handheld Zelda evolution. Very very good job Kee, several of the songs sent shivers down my spine. I was expecting that final song, but I was not expecting lyrics. Brought some tears to my eyes... ...then, my Internet speed decided to cut to 64kbps because I'd exceeded my monthly traffic limit, and now the last 2 minutes are a pain to watch. But thankfully, the month is almost over!
+derula ^_^ Very few people seem to recognize this about Minish Cap! I agree with what you said! I think the Oracle games and LA are on par as well- but LA might be technically better, since it was the pioneer of the three and the others were built on its foundation. I'm so glad you liked the medley and got chills from so many of the parts! I'll be sure to make many more. ^_^ Twilight Princess will be next.
You're welcome. That actually made me tear up a little. I guess I'm feeling emotional today. ^^ I'm really glad your baby is soothed by these classic songs/my own musical style.
This is the third of your Zelda's Medley I'm listening to and so far I enjoyed everyone of them. They bring back a lot of memories, sometimes I even get the same feel as when I played the games as a kid. Good job 👌
The only Zelda game I played more than this one back in the day, was LTTP. I didn't get to keep whatever ingame name I chose for long though, because they would call me THIEF after a bit. Stealing from the shop all started when I noticed the keeper isn't very fast to turn, and my first loot was the shovel.
I don't think I've commented before but, just to let you know.. This is beautiful and mystical,I've listened to this song specifically a long time. Great job
@@RebeccaETripp I'm so glad that I found your channel. I'm looking at all the other uploads you've done now and each and every one is a huge emotional journey. You are an absolute treasure. It's 2:30am and I can't stop watching these.
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you creating this. That Ballad of the Windfish caught me off guard, tear jerking. It appears you truly have many musical talents, singing is definitely one of them. I wouldn't call it amateurish whatsoever, but that's me. I can't wait to hop over to your LttP video!
This is lovely, Rebecca. I like the singing at the conclusion of it, too ... it really feels like an entire suite rather than a bunch of disparate pieces, and the vocal part at the end ties it together. And the lyrics are lovely, too :)
Wow Rebecca, there are just so many lovely touches here. I especially liked the creative realisations you gave to the (originally very minimal) dungeon themes! Really awesome work dripping with creativity and detailed care.
wow... this made me cry, this is trully wonderfull... WONDERFULL!! This is my favorite game of all Zelda's, THANKS WITH ALL MY HEART!! And the lyric of song it was amazing!! :''3
Incredible work. I love the House by the Bay/Mabe Village section. I'm happy to say that I found this because it was shared somewhere, not because I was on your page as per usual. I hope that trend continues for you! More people need to see. In my ideal world, one day Zelda will sound and feel like it did during this era once again.
I absolutely loved this. It made me feel perfectly the feeling the game gave me when I played it as a child, recalling every map. And your voice is so gorgeous!
I simply can't even. Thank you for this. You brought the importance of this game and it's soundtrack to its pinnacle. Thank you so much for this Rebecca!
Actually, I was playing Final Fantasy X and came across the Melon of the Fayth. Although it was far too angelic for me to obtain. Also it was a game :'(
what a medley! yet another fine piece of orchestration that blows me away with the crown jewel being the ballad of the windfish at the end with your amazing vocals it gets me every time with its gentle beauty that hits me to my core and makes me fall apart but in a good way keep singing we all have a unique quality to our voices that should not be silenced and I look forward to hearing more of yours even as I sing along with mine
Thank you. I hope it's positive and not negative to "fall apart" with this piece, assuming it's only one or the other? You said "in a good way" so I hope so. These medleys are really meant to restore the inner child, but that can be difficult and painful for some. I hope you're well!
@@RebeccaETripp suffering doesn't always have to be bad and can be good in some scenarios it can help us process things we otherwise couldn't this is what your music does for me and why I love it so thank you for helping me stay well and I'm sure I'm not the only one
I have the clear feeling that you're getting better and better at this... It used to be nice, then great, now it's awesome ! I'll keep my ears on you. :D
That is fantastic!! i felt like i'm listening every best Zelda songs and I played Link's Awakening when I was a child, I remember some songs but not them all. Thanks a lot for this, brings me back some memories of my old white GB.
I'm so glad you sang this yourself and didn't get someone with a more "trained voice". I seriously don't mean this to sound insulting. It's beautiful and exactly how it should sound.
Your medleys are always heavenly!! This one is no exception. It takes you on a journey, and the best part is that you include all the popular songs and stuff, but you also include some lesser remixed songs and that just makes it a whole bunch more interesting and fun! Link's awakening is one of my faves and this medley makes me sooooo happy!! And let's not forget that signing! Wow! I loved it! I thought it was phenomenal and you should definitely do more vocals please!
Wow, you nailed it!! I particularly loved what you did with Sword Search.. its my favorite song from Link's Awakening Not to mention Tal Tal Heights and Ballad of the Wind Fish! Thanks a lot for your passionate work!
+Henrique Benassi Those three in particular, people seem to really like from that game (they are also some of my favorite pieces from the series, so I get it!) Thank you for you comment. ^^
This is really well done. In terms of your lyrics, the only line that sticks out as needing improvement: "There's a light shining bright"...I honestly didn't think I would like the lyrics or singing for Ballad of the Windfish, but your voice and lyrics actually capture the magic and wonder behind the game's music (and your medley) very well. Excellent job, I'm a fan!
@@RebeccaETripp Ok, I just listened to Nintendo's version released with the remake: th-cam.com/video/cdV-X30ZqZs/w-d-xo.html and your cover came to my mind... I had to come back to compare both renditions...what are your thoughts?!
Beautiful music! Also, very poetic having it begin and end on seagulls calling and the waves of the sea. The Memory of Marin and Koholint Island will live on forever, both in Link's heart and in the hearts of those who love this wonderful game.
Those made me damn near cry and i never usually cry to stuff like this, so beautiful and perfectly captured the moments from one of my favorite games ever
Amazing video. Thanks for the nostalgia of a great game that had great music. I think it is amazing you made the lyrics for the Ballad of the Windfish theme. When I first heard this, I was in splendor. Thank you again for your creativity on such an amazing legacy like Legend of Zelda.
The necklace Marin is wearing at 0:49 looks a lot like the Amulet of Kings from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I know that it isn't, obviously, but I think the artist was either inspired by it, or coincidentally made her necklace look a lot like it.
This game will forever have a place in my hearth, everytime I listen to the abandoned house theme or the Ballad of the Wind Fish I start crying, reminding me of the first time I played this game.
I really appreciate your choice of artwork for this. I love the art of Moebius and to see it applied to the LOZ is such a perfect fit. Great composition, as always.
Becky, I want you to know that this composition (along with my favorite plushie) saw me thru some unpleasant 4 AM insomnia the other day. This song is basically like an old friend at this point.

These are the lyrics I wrote for Ballad of the Windfish:
On your shore, in the eve, below the moonlight
Every dream I have wished for in sight
What lies beyond it?
Where will I be and what will I find?
Here, under the clouds,
I fear… I’m dreaming…
There’s a light shining bright, behind a mountain.
Dare I fly as the gulls toward that sun
I’ll sleep forever
The dreamer need not open his eyes
Yet still, where is my star?
Dare I ask- who am I?
I’ve a home far away I dread to think on
But it burns like a flame in my heart!
The waves are churning.
A voice is calling me to the sea.
Her words, they are the sun...
In my heart
Who’s singing?

good golly, this is beyond words gorgeous...Link's Awakening has been a special game for me, having been the game that introduced me to Legend of Zelda when I was like 10 or so playing it at my cousins house. Hearing each melody re-orchestrated just fills me with nostalgia especially hearing the Get Sword melody
I'm so glad. It's so lovely that so many people can connect over such beautiful shared memories from all over the world. ^_^
I didn't know all these feelings were still there. Thank you again.
Coming back on that great medley having a lot of magical tracks and some of my favorites with the dungeons and the wind fish :)
I'm glad you're still enjoying it. 🌟💫🐋💫🌟
I just can't say how wonderful your music is!
Thank you.
@@RebeccaETripp You're welcome!
We use this music to relax our baby when he needs to nap :-) just so beautiful....thank you thank you thank you for making this!!!!!!!!
You're welcome. That actually made me tear up a little. I guess I'm feeling emotional today. ^^ I'm really glad your baby is soothed by these classic songs/my own musical style.
This is my favorite LOZ game of all time. God damn, I'm in tears. Thanks Vinny
This is the third of your Zelda's Medley I'm listening to and so far I enjoyed everyone of them. They bring back a lot of memories, sometimes I even get the same feel as when I played the games as a kid. Good job 👌
Thank you.
Great job
Thank you! ^_^
This game has some of the most amazing and unique music in the series. You did a great job orchestrating it.
Thank you! :'D
Tal Tal Heights orchestred is a miracle
This is my favorite video on all of TH-cam.
Thank you. :3
@@RebeccaETripp I'm so glad that I found your channel. I'm looking at all the other uploads you've done now and each and every one is a huge emotional journey. You are an absolute treasure. It's 2:30am and I can't stop watching these.
You make me smile. :')
@@RebeccaETripp aww. I'm glad ^^
Love your singing as it captures the mood perfectly!
Thank you so much!
Fantastic! I truly appreciate all your hard works on this epic work.
Thanks so much! ^_^
Thank you!
When listening to Get Sword, my skin always bristles ... Thank you for do this
I'm glad you liked it! :D
This is lovely, Rebecca. I like the singing at the conclusion of it, too ... it really feels like an entire suite rather than a bunch of disparate pieces, and the vocal part at the end ties it together. And the lyrics are lovely, too :)
+Lauren the Flute Thank you! :D
Magnificent work, emotional just like the story! ♥️ I’m waiting for the remake!!!
M'lady, I listened on my way to work and shed a tear at the end. This was so beautiful words escape your Scarlet Knight.
+Geekanomicon This pleases me. ^_^ Thank you, sir knight!
Wow Rebecca, there are just so many lovely touches here. I especially liked the creative realisations you gave to the (originally very minimal) dungeon themes! Really awesome work dripping with creativity and detailed care.
+Soundole VGM Covers
wow... this made me cry, this is trully wonderfull... WONDERFULL!!
This is my favorite game of all Zelda's, THANKS WITH ALL MY HEART!!
And the lyric of song it was amazing!! :''3
Thank you. :')
Hey your an amazing artist and have brought this little game a new breath of life with your talent. THANK YOU!
Thank you as well!
I loved this. The way the pictures flowed with the music was superb. Thank you so much for sharing this.
So glad you enjoyed it. ^_^
+MalachiteR It's a wonderful dream, and I hope it comes true for us! :D Where did you see this posted? :O And thanks!
+RebeccaETripp Never mind! It was Reddit, wasn't it? :3 I just found a post on Reddit someone made about this medley! ^_^ That sure made me happy.
This is so lovely! Your lyrics/voicework is definitely a KEEPER.
+subversiveasset :)
I absolutely loved this. It made me feel perfectly the feeling the game gave me when I played it as a child, recalling every map. And your voice is so gorgeous!
+Orphen Thank you.
I simply can't even. Thank you for this. You brought the importance of this game and it's soundtrack to its pinnacle. Thank you so much for this Rebecca!
+Paul Farrer
Discovered any new elemelons?
Actually, I was playing Final Fantasy X and came across the Melon of the Fayth. Although it was far too angelic for me to obtain. Also it was a game :'(
Paul Farrer
Better luck next time. :O
what a medley! yet another fine piece of orchestration that blows me away with the crown jewel being the ballad of the windfish at the end with your amazing vocals it gets me every time with its gentle beauty that hits me to my core and makes me fall apart but in a good way keep singing we all have a unique quality to our voices that should not be silenced and I look forward to hearing more of yours even as I sing along with mine
+Neerval Thank you! :D
That is fantastic!! i felt like i'm listening every best Zelda songs and I played Link's Awakening when I was a child, I remember some songs but not them all. Thanks a lot for this, brings me back some memories of my old white GB.
+Buck Bowie Ah, yes. Gameboy memories are beautiful indeed.
I'm so glad you sang this yourself and didn't get someone with a more "trained voice". I seriously don't mean this to sound insulting. It's beautiful and exactly how it should sound.
Thank you so much! ^_^ I appreciate it.
+Ian Laih Well, I just got a professional microphone for my birthday, so that might give me the confidence I need to do more singing in the future. ^^
+Ian Laih Thank you so much.
+RebeccaETripp You're welcome!! I can't wait for more ^-^
Wow, you nailed it!!
I particularly loved what you did with Sword Search.. its my favorite song from Link's Awakening
Not to mention Tal Tal Heights and Ballad of the Wind Fish!
Thanks a lot for your passionate work!
+Henrique Benassi Those three in particular, people seem to really like from that game (they are also some of my favorite pieces from the series, so I get it!) Thank you for you comment. ^^
My what a gifted person you are. 😢
Every bit of heart that you invested is available throughout. Warm thanks.
Thank you!
+enzoeclipsed Well, shucks. ^_^
@@RebeccaETripp Ok, I just listened to Nintendo's version released with the remake: th-cam.com/video/cdV-X30ZqZs/w-d-xo.html
and your cover came to my mind...
This really fills me with all kinds of emotion. Got some shivers from how good it is
Thanks so much! ^_^
incredible work, rebecca!
Thank you so much!! ^_^
Ballad of the Windfish is one of my favorite Zelda tracks, so beautiful
Same here! I think it's actually the first tune I ever heard from a Zelda game!
I love the picture at 9:25 it's really humorous.
Tal Tal Heights is everything.
Simply exquisite! I cannot stop listening to it!
Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you! ^_^
Those made me damn near cry and i never usually cry to stuff like this, so beautiful and perfectly captured the moments from one of my favorite games ever
Thank you.
RebeccaETripp Well you deserve it
I want you to know that I am very thankful for your amazing work. It brightens my days :)
+EzekielRageTV Thank you. :') That means a lot to me.
The beginning of the mysterious woods... that intro!!! So good! Really captures the spooky feel
Thanks!
Amazing video. Thanks for the nostalgia of a great game that had great music. I think it is amazing you made the lyrics for the Ballad of the Windfish theme. When I first heard this, I was in splendor. Thank you again for your creativity on such an amazing legacy like Legend of Zelda.
Adam, I'm touched! Thank you. ^_^
Amazing vocals, they do the rest of the movement and the game itself justice. Congratulations.
I really appreciate that. ^_^ I've had a lot of positive feedback on these, but I'm still very self conscious about it!
I really appreciate your choice of artwork for this. I love the art of Moebius and to see it applied to the LOZ is such a perfect fit. Great composition, as always.
+Randy Marker Thank you so much!
Really amazing!!!! Very great job!! This took me 26 years away. Thanks
Thanks! ^_^
@@RebeccaETripp are you excited for remaster
I just fell in love with this game again
Becky, I want you to know that this composition (along with my favorite plushie) saw me thru some unpleasant 4 AM insomnia the other day. This song is basically like an old friend at this point.
I'm happy it's had this effect on you, River.
@@RebeccaETripp I'm returning to an "old friend" this evening. I've been having some really awful respiratory issues that are worst when trying to sleep.
@@vivianriver6450 Hey, River. I hope you will recover soon! Be well!
House by the bay and Mabe village sounds so romantic (the accompanying images reinforce that).
Rebecca this is so beautiful!!! I loved everything specially your celtic, dreamy and fairy voice
+Andreina Gomez Thank you so much! :D I do like to bare my soul when I compose and perform music.
I can't believe I just found this now! This is incredible, nice work!
I'm glad you liked it! ^_^
Thank you for making such a beautiful piece out of my childhood and actual all-time favorite game. That's it, I'm buying an original gameboy and this game to experience it once again :-) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
^_^ You're welcome. Thank you for your comment as well.
This made me so happy
Thanks! ^_^
