    I don't think I've ever seen Simon more unimpressed with a guest. And Simon is absolutely spot-on that without a controlling stake, those fan shares are just trinkets. That Chris guy needs to bone up on his facts and present a better argument because he sounded like a fan off the street rather than a communications director.

    • @jonlcfc1
      @jonlcfc1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      True, though Simon made himself look a bit of a plank there also. The guy said it was the start of the process and Simon repeated himself time and time again when questioning him. It's the start, Simon.
      Jordan is quality but needs to be called out at times.

    • @TheMasterCylinder
      @TheMasterCylinder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jonlcfc1 But that guy is the comms director for the trust. Every question Simon asked should have had an immediate, researched answer. They weren't hard questions. Just saying it's the beginning of a process instead of laying out some sort of roadmap is amateurish. Not only that, he didn't sound convincing at all. What Chris needs to do is get answers for questions like that so he doesn't look foolish again.

    • @nwabobo
      @nwabobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with Chris, if u have 5 or 10% of the club u still might not be able to control the direction of travel of the club but u stand a better chance of having ur voice or input going into the decision making process of the club. That's a point to build from. Simon is just being obnoxious to understand Chris point of view..

    Huge Simon Jordan fan. He went all in there as an ex owner. Even the most intelligent are swayed by emotional earthquakes.
    Credit to the fan here for keeping calm, Simon is no easy opponent to talk to, and he keep to his principles of what he wanted to say, rather than becoming emotionally engaged with Simon.
    I'm always interested in Simons pool of Knowledge, but equally as a United fan myself, its good to hear what the supporters "on the ground " are doing to express their concerns to the Glazers.
    I think there was some sort of misconception between Simon and the Fan, as from Simons perspective it's clearly, I owned a football club, I wouldn't be admonished by supporters groups!
    This fans group director is going on the premise of, you borrowed money (Glazer family) and destroyed our club (or the potential of its reach by poor ownership), you didn't invest your own as a fan like Simon Jordan. Really good exchange.

Lost all momentum after the lpool game that got called off last year. Meant to be another one before the Chelsea game the last game most that will take part will renew their season tickets and be back in August. Absolutely pointless. Too many Utd supporters are too scared to give up their season tickets incase we start winning things again so it will never change. This will only end when Joel and Avram Glazer pass away and even then it’s not a given.

    MUST are a complete joke, I went looking at their webiste and socials a few months ago and its embarrasing, they barely communicate as to what is happening, they say they got the Glazers to talk about releasing shares to the fans and this would happen by the beginning of the season...nothing happened and a year later they are making noise about the Glazers backtracking, they should have been on them as soon as that deadline passed. The club was in turmoil in November, everyone knew the manager had to go and I couldnt find anything from them, they are meant to be the link between the fans and owners for one of the biggest clubs in the world and seem to be a bunch of amateurs with no real plan of intent. Listening to Chris Rumfitt talk then was just like listening to another puppet under the Glazer umbrella.

      To ask for a share at the commercial behemoth like Manchester United, and asked to be given a significant amount of shares for free doesn't sound smart from the owner's point of view.
      The only reason this conversation is getting any sort of traction is that Manchester United isn't performing on the pitch and the super league debacle. Look at Chelsea's CPO. It was a different and difficult time when the CPO was formed, but it has hindered the development of their stadium. The owners can't wrestle control from the fans in the Bundesliga, same goes with the fans wrestling for control in England. No one will give this up.
      So what will you do with it? Try to make the owner sell the club and make sure the new owner will submit to fan's demands. No one on their right mind will spend billions of dollars to buy the club and give 25% of it's shares to an emotional buch of people. Or you can kick out glazers and fans should buy the club. You'll see how quick such a regime crumbles. And if my feeble mind could come up with this, am sure someone as smart as you should know better.

    As an Arsenal fan I’m listening to this guy from the United supporters trust and I feel like saying at least your club go and buy top name players (obviously not every single transfer is a top name player) but if you think in recent years they’ve had Ronaldo Cavani Sancho DiMaria Zlatan Falcao Pogba . I know not all these players have worked out in terms of performances but as owners you want to be seen to be attracting the big names and they still have done that and once you get these players you then leave it up to the players themselves and the coaching staff to get the results on the field . And considering they’ve had Jose Mourinho as manager during that time who like him or not is a top manager , the fans need to start blaming the players and more as they all get paid handsomely and can’t get top 4 . On paper United have a great team . Don’t get me wrong I’m not sticking up for any owners , as an Arsenal fan we’ve had to put up with our own owners not wanting to spend money on the big names for years and selling anybody that is good , but if they’re not getting the results and they’ve got all the tools to be successful then I think you have to look at some of the players and maybe shift out the bad eggs and dead wood

      This is precisely why I can never fully sympathise with United fans. They moan about their owners while conveniently ignoring that they have invested 1.3 BILLION into the team since Fergie, like it's chicken change. I know they'll cry and say that money was money generated by the club rather than money direct from Glazers pocket but this is business. Why must the Glazers take from their pocket when their business and asset is making money? United need to be glad they are at least willing to plow such huge amounts back into the team. Yet they wanna cry.
      The real truth is they are bitter that they are no longer at the top despite spending all that money.
