Brent!!! You have saved my life!!!! The second set up you did with the splashes are EXACTLY what I need! I have a 9” splash and a 10” mini China that I want to stack exactly like that! Been racking my mind on how to do it! 2 boom arms, another non boom cymbal stand with a boom arm clamped to that and god knows what bloody else!! Brent!!! THANK YOU! Here’s a pint my son!! 🍺 👊🏻👊🏻
Guys I watch this video every other week!! I love it. I have set up my two splash cymbals exactly how you have it in this video. I can't tell you how much these options have changed my life. The small holder with cymbal tilter allowed me to mount an additional splash over my hats and next to my two six inch roto toms on an existing cymbal arm that I bought from you over 12 years ago. I am back playing and drums again and Gibraltar is a huge reason that my passion for drumming is back!!! thank you.
+GibraltarDIY I looked on the page and there is nothing that looks like that. Only thing that is close is the 9707XB. Anyway I can just order the hardware in the video? 😄
the problem with the aux hi hat mount, is that there is no nylon sleeve to protect your bottom hi hat from rubbing. I ended up getting the Tama variety.
The tom toms aren't on a rack and are positioned to the left (if you are in the drivers seat of the drum set) which causes the ride cymbal to be placed in a rock style .
Ok, this is different but, I’m left handed, BUT I play right handed. My left hand is my “Strong hand”. So I need a set of closed Hi-Hats on the right side of the kit, and a Ride Cymbal on the left side as well as the right. I think this can solve some problems I have. When playing 32nd notes on the ride I HAVE to use my right hand, and hate reaching for a ride thats mounted behind my Hi-Hat and small Toms!
George Rebelo I don’t think the boom arm is long enough. However you can use the SC-XHAT, which is an xhat attachment that will turn your boom arm into an xhat.
But the actual post will be tall enough to tighten the hi hat clutch? That’s what’s going on with the tama. Can the post be unscrewed and make shift another post if it’s to short?
The toms and snare are exactly at front of the throne, so the bass drum is a little to the right, just like a double bass setup but with just one bass drum.
Exactly!!! It's not as obvious as you would think. I positioned the bass drum to face between 1:00 and 2:00 rather at 12:00. Your feet naturally pivot outwards when sitting in a relaxed position.
Thanks for the great videos. Is it possible to mount an auxilary HiHat to the top of the floor tom leg? Imagine positioning the floor tom in such a way, that the "outer" floor tom leg is positioned just beneath where you would place the aux HiHat... I trust you get the idea... :-) Thanks and best regards from Norway.
In the previous videos, y'all either had a 10 and 12 above the bass drum or just a 12 above it. In this video, both are offset so the 10 is added to the left of the 12 and not over the bass drum. That's what I noticed.
Brett I've got a 10 inch splash and an 8 inch bell I have mounted in front of my 10 and 12 Tom's using boom arm attachments from two boom stands and since I finally have a double bass drum set instead of double bass pedals I'm about to order the GRS 850 rack could I use the tree for that Splash and Bell so I can keep them in the same place? I was wondering if it would be possible because with the rack I'm also ordering 3 SCRBA clamps and was going to see if it'll all work because I'm used to my bell and splash being in front of my toms and really don't want to change my configuration
With all the modern interactive programs like Sketchup or 80/20 t-slot websides, Gibraltar should have one 3D that can have all drum sizes (on scale) with all the gear (boom arms, clamps, rack pipes, etc.) to give it the right place with all moving parts and able to save. That way we know what to get for sure and how much, approximately, will be the total cost. I'm giving away this idea because I don't want to have hours in Photoshop figuring out what part will be best for a given situation. Trial and error is not an option. You will be ahead of competitors. Think about it!
I'm still waiting for the episode where Brent says "For those of you who prefer cymbal stands over racks, you're wrong, but we have a solution for you anyway!"
Ding ding ding! You are correct! The bass drum is angled to face between 1:00 and 2:00, rather than being positioned to face 12:00. When sitting down, your feet naturally angle out. This allows you to play exactly how your body naturally positions itself.
You're getting very close to getting this. One note: The angle to the kit is head on... in other words you're looking directly at the kit and not from an angle.
these hardware videos have given me so many ideas for consolidating stands, clamps, cymbals and giving my kit set up a little flair.

Sauron191 I’m glad the video could help!

you still watching it?
"We all know how 6" is important" Classic
I love clamps... and racks, I love gibraltar :3
I know 6 inches is important but 2 inches is still pretty important too, right : (
I'm sorry
Jahahahahagaha
No.

Everyone has come up with incredibly insightful observations... here's a hint: It has something to do with the positioning of either a drum or cymbal.
Did anyone ever win? Lol
THE TOM TOMS ARE NOT MOUNTED ON THE BASS DRUM ITS MOUNTED ON A DOUBLE TOM STAND.
I want that cymbal mount and stand to attach splash closer to the toms.
what's the clamp you are using to hold the boom arm?
Hey! Nice mounting logic.
...also, I like your humor. 👍
that's a lot of guitars.
A ha the bass drum angle gotcha. I set up my kit the same way, plus I have both stealth racks which makes it so much easier to set up.
Where can I purchase the hi hat boom with the clamp only? (Stop video at 3:38) can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks!
+Helmsdrums any of our dealers can order it for you. 😃 www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa=series&cid=27&sid=361
+GibraltarDIY I looked on the page and there is nothing that looks like that. Only thing that is close is the 9707XB. Anyway I can just order the hardware in the video? 😄
+Helmsdrums the model number of the X Hat in the video is the SC-4425XHMB. You can find it under cymbal mounting and accessories/cymbal boom arms.
+GibraltarDIY found it. Thanks!
+GibraltarDIY one more question...where can I order that multi clamp? Looks better than any I've seen online
splash cymbal is my favorite
Why did you drop the splash
From the view at the end is it the right crash boom arm?
This stuff is so fascinating, im obsessed with this 😐😉
Can you attach this to a drum rack?
What was the clamp that you used to attach the boom arm to the toms?
Is the diffrence that the cymbal boom that holds the cymbal longer?
It's not in the cymbal mounting... although considering the episode it makes sense to look there.
Link to double Tom stand, please!
What is the part number for that double cymbal holder?
This guy just earned a sub
First time seeing you. I like the humor!
Using rack close to ground vs at height of toms etc.
In pretty new to drumming, so um no expert about this, but what goes on the mini boom holder?
Typically a splash cymbal. Sometimes you put other stuff on there
the one Remo head logo?

Is it the toms?
Is the bass drum a gloss instead of a satin? That's my best guess and i have been staring at the set for a few minutes drinking in the details
I need all of this XD
its an offset configuration?

Will the x hat fit 18” hats? I have a tama one that doesn’t.

George Rebelo good question. I’ve never tested an chat with 18” hats. The rod is not removable on our xhats
Thank you for getting back to me.
but what if i want a remote hi-hat in place of an x-hat??
Did you mount the crash cymbal on the right (if you are sitting at the kit) from behind the floor tom/ ride cymbal stand?
The toms arent mounted to the bass drum?
I'm looking for a clamp that attaches to a hi hat rod to add a splash above a x hat but cant find anything. you you make/sell anything like this?
Is it the aux Hi Hat?
Hey Brent, where to I find a single clutch like how you showed in the end?
You should check some of our online dealers. Amazon, Musician’s Friend, Sweetwater
Thanks Brent
I'll see if I have the way to send you a picture.thanks for asking.
When did Brent start doing a monologue?
what are those weird brown things in the background?
Deeper floor tom?

I thought the same thing..... but I didn't think it was that, because to me wasn't wierd, jut because I set up my kit like that

"We all know how important 6 inches is" - smooth.
How about 4 inches and 30 seconds ?
One floortom instead of two..?
hmmm no... but let me think if I can provide a clue without giving it away yet!
Which kit is that??
The drumset is facing off to the right of the camera, (while sitting at the kit) instead of straight at the camera like in the other videos
Hmmmm, does have to do with "The Spider"?
What's different is there is no brand on the drums or heads. I haven't seen every other video, but there you go.
Hi! I'm going to get the SC-4425STMB. Is there a specific clamp model you would recommend for it?
Here are some different a options for you. 😃www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa=partsmain&sid=780&cid=137&curcat=2
Thanks for the suggest! :)
Its in a different room!
theres no gretsch logo on the bassdrum front head
It's the toms, instead of being directly above the kit they're off to the side on a stand
sabian cymbals?
The Tom-Tom mount is not mounted on the kick drum its mounted off the kick drum
looks like new double tom stand with xtra clamp
Black drumheads?
Man, I should have learned the harmonica.

Hey Brent! I sent you a message, did you get it?
Seems to me like, the toms are mounted on a stand rather than on the bass.
I'm still waiting for the episode where Brent says "For those of you who prefer cymbal stands over racks, you're wrong, but we have a solution for you anyway!"
that is a really cool setup, except there is no tech lock
Chase monster,,,i agree,thanks.
The toms are on a stand
Great Video..
the rack toms are off-set
bass drum is offset like in a double bass kit. there is just no other kick drum.
0:08, as great as you are. Love it!!! Thumbs up four times!!! ;-p
OHHHH THE BASS DRUM IS LIKE NOT FACING IN FRONT BUT THE RACK TOMS ARE!

LOL! YESSHHH!!! DO I WIN ANYTHING?!?!?! HAHAHA
You silly. I'll take one of each. 🤣
les hace falta vídeos en español
theres three toms instead of four or five like the other videos
8", 10", 12" mounted toms
14" and or 16" floor toms
The remo drum heads
You're getting very close to getting this. One note: The angle to the kit is head on... in other words you're looking directly at the kit and not from an angle.
you should build a remote hi hat stand :3 with a really long clutch :v
the toms are offset
dudeee that black kit behind him is fuckin hot
It is. If only someone on here knew what it was so we could have one for ourselves!
When the X-Hat Mini Boom isn't available in Australia :( I cri erytim
Those frigin' clamps are expensive and add up... I bought a stand for $19 and those clamps are $25 Guitar Center.
Be glad you are paying in $ from a US company.
Different drum sizes...
0:07 We'll be right back!
you are great
cool vid
toms are slighly ofset to the base drum and on a tom stand
Fun video
"It's a big word, I know" Maybe for you, treacle.
The guitars are more expensive than everything on the website put together lol xD
I just got done watching this for like, the 5th time. Still no clue
😳los platos se cuidannnnnnnnnn no se tiran
You have a Boom arm, and you have a rack. What do you do?
Don’t say that again. Please
