I loved the scene with Newt is being taken away and his case is being separated from him. The way he begs to not hurt them is like a mother and child feel. Back in the 20's, there was a huge population of Irish people living in New York, so the accent was quite common, especially in certain police divisions. The British accent, on the other hand, has always been in the United States, before and after the Revolution aka Civil War. I wouldn't have minded at all if the actors had kept their accents. It wouldn't have diminished the movie in any way.

"Beast in us, beast we make in others" this is what Rowling had to say was the heart of the movie. I totally get it because the only part I thought was interesting, was Credence. And that's what the story wants us to focus at. Newt and his beasts were just comic relief. This story was trying to drag our attention to something very very dark. Hail Ho JK Rowling, you got my attention.
I adore this movie, It has such a wonderful way to it and yet you can feel the world of Harry Potter within this movie/book but it doesn't try to be like the other books or movies it makes it own world it's a wonderful place to be in I find that the music and sets are so grounded yet take us to a magical place we've known before but surprises us with new things I adore this new way of the Wizard and Witches world.

Oh man, as a massive Potterhead I really wanted to love this...but it was just okay to me. The story was all over the place, it couldn't settle for a consistent tone, the ending was just dreadful to me, and the characters didn't really change through the story. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt as it's setting up future films (Even though that's not an excuse for not being a good stand-alone film) and hope for the best next time
Watching this interview i had a random thought that these 4 characters are the magical equivalent of the scooby-doo gang and its perfect (tina=velma, queenie=daphné, and newt= shaggy, jacob=scooby)
