Now there are not many buildings left but it is still a beautiful park, people go there for a spot of boating or to find a quiet place and do taiji. I always like to remind people that when Elgin burned it down it was the private property of the Emperor and common people were definitely not allowed in there.

Hope it will be rebuild one day but even if it's not, the Chinese people always exceed at surpassing their previous achievements, so they'll create something different, even more creative and innovative, the likes of Shenzhen's cyber-punk themed skyline for example.
