I'm a TOTAL SABBATH FAN from the 70's, and the truth is, Sabbath is more appreciated now than ever before, which should only place more limelight on your most awesome talents. Keeping the Classic Rock Tradition ALIVE! and in TRUE FORM!
So what if they sound like sabbath... That's certainly not a bad thing, yeah, the SG, the minimal drum kit, the bass playing and even the singer remind me of vintage Sabbath.. Fuck, they're the best new band I've heard in.. I can't remember..

I LOVE ORCHID! If you know Black Sabbath, then you'll know their first 5 albums we're the best. Of course, all of their stuff is great, but the first 5 we're something else. It's as if Black Sabbath wrote a "secret" 6th album, and gave it to ORCHID. I mean that in the highest compliment. But it's ORCHID's talent, originality and style playing this "secret" 6th album. Bottom line, this is just some kick ass freakin' music. When I hear Wizard of War, I just want to BLAST this on a 2000 watt system, while my girl is yelling at me, grab my Les Paul, and head bang in her face, while my long hair hits her, and scream "YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!!!!"....Damnit... I think I'm now possessed from listening to ORCHID too much... >:)

I'm sick of seeing all the people is limited as the 5th album. and for information "wizard of war" is a little bit a rippoff of "Symptom of the Universe"
Malefics arvm ill take sabotage over sabbath bloody sabbath any day. I think orchid are very open about how they are inspired by Sabs. I agree that this is a bit like symptom with some children of the grave thrown in for good measure
You know i think it's weird that i like Orchid so much whereas i find all their rippoff of Sabbath. Black Sabbath is like one my favorite band ever and i find a band who wants to be more sabbath than sabbath and i like it. normally i will criticize their lack of originality but i can't do it.
Malefics arvm yeah. for me its because they really seem to capture that sabbath feel and spirit, but actually add to it rather than just stealing it. You can tell that they worship sabs. Their songs are also very good and would sit well as actual sabs songs. Thats why I prefer them to other sabs copyists

They absolutely rock live. I've seen them in a club in Stuttgart earlier this year.

I love the bass style. He brings the low notes forward in the mix by playing high up the neck and although it seems odd to see at first you can really hear how well it works on this track.

I don't know why people are acting like this is the first band to sound like Sabbath. Witchfinder General, Pentagram, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Trouble, Cathedral, Candlemass, etc. All of these bands have tried to capture that sabbath sound. Get over it Sabbath influenced a lot of bands. Stop acting like these guys are the first.

Orchid always sound like Black Sabbath... and I am damned glad of it! These guys recreate the sound of original Black Sabbath far better than Black Sabbath do. Some people might call it derivative or "copying" Black Sabbath, but I consider it a heartfelt tribute.

I don't see how people who're already into Sabbath wouldn't be able to appreciate this. Sure there's an obvious Sabbath influence but Is that a bad thing? Especially with bands like this (Sheavy, etc.) that do it so well. I'm thankful for bands like this who offer a fresh take on that classic sound, it just goes to show what an impact It had & it's only gonna continue for generations to come. If i had a choice to listen to this or some Nu-metal crap i would choose this.

Who cares that they are obviously heavily influenced by Sabbath! They still have a sound of they're own! I might add that, to be compared to Black Sabbath and still have you're own sound incorporated. That's one hell of a task my friends! Hell of a band!

If ORCHID were a Classic Hard Rock band back in the 70's, every one here who disses this band but loves Sabbath would be creaming in their panties for the opportunity of hearing another awesome 21st century release (e.g. BS-13). Because they're new doesn't mean their bad. It just means, this band (like you) loves Sabbath enough to carry on the tradition, but with state of the art vigor and youth. IMO, ORCHID is so far the best reminiscence sound of OZZY/TONY/GEEZER & BILL WARD. Hands Down!

Along with Kadavar, Red fang, Elder and Black Space Riders; These guys are just the fuckin' peak of music at the moment. I know a lot of metal heads that say there isn't any current bands worth listening to, I shortly thereafter beat them with a copy of Capricorn. Rock the fuck on you legends.

Ozzy moves so much more on stage, I know you know that. That pose with the microphone its from Ozzy, but Theo just do that almost all the time. Black Sabbath its the best, but this band is of our generation, and its great. Orchid are returning the 70's.

It does sound like Sabotage era Sabbath. Namely Symptom of the Universe. And the vocal line a lot like Hole in the Sky. But the song still rules. That riff is absolutely getting it done!
