When I was thinking about buying a business I ask advice from every business owner I knew. Best advice was from my sister who owns a tattoo shop in Seattle . “Look at the numbers with a critical eye and know it will be 24/7 of your life for the first few years” Bought a FroYo shop a few months before the COVID19 outbreak 😳 Timing could not been any worse. Luckily I have a whatever it takes attitude and now we are doing great . Sound advice and being mentally prepared for what it is going to take , are the best first steps to start a successful business. Love the Chanel .
Thank you for watching and the support Moto. This is great advice. We love your resilience. What are some other things people should be aware of when they first start out in the food servicing industry?
Soft openings are so under rated and under utilized. We always do at least three soft openings before our grand opening. First is close friends, family, and loyal customers to test the flow and service systems. Second is invite to select individuals through your service community. Third is a quiet opening where we are open to the public but do not put out any marketing. Each of these allow us to tweak and adjust issues and flaws we find in the design or training. I am kind of old school on my operational numbers. I like using spreadsheets and simple pen and paper to keep track of everything. Although we do use a POS that can dig deep into specific numbers when need be.
What an inspiration this guy! Many people think opening a restaurant is easy and they settle with average. This guy is proof that we can achieve anything if we are focused and dedicated!
So true Dejan. Focusing and staying consistent can really make the difference rather someone's business is successful or not😀. Would you ever start a business in this industry?

I'm Peruvian and I was unaware of the success of Peruvian food in the United States until I saw a documentary on National Geographic about the boom of Peruvian dishes like "ceviche" love from Peru.
This guy is living proof that systems are more important that good food. I was there when he use to do social media advertise events with the Seattle Latin groups in town. The food was terrible. Peruvian food is amazing and so unique on it's flavors but his was bland. I was one of the ones that said this guy is going nowhere. He is not a cook at all. But he stuck with it keep developing the concept and he is doing great. Even the food got better. I don't want to sound mean or be hateful to him. If anything I'm saying he is a great business owner. That's the key restaurants need great business owners not chefs or bartenders owning them. Don't let the lack of flavor talent keep you from opening your concept.

@@mardyra hey, Sorry for late reply!! Our issues we were having was with our online delivery service ‘Menulog’ we had worked out the average over 10 weeks and had found out we were losing 3000$ a day if we had issues with Menulog. The prices on our menu are high and I feel I have to pivot now to a very different menu because I priced myself out of my original concept, It feels like shit so I have to adapt and hopefully get back to my original concept.

@@UpFlip little over 5 years myself but almost 6 months was closed because of covid issues (family has always been in restaurant industry). It was a very slow start because our location is rather terrible, practically 0 foot traffic. This is a possibility, Adam. Are you currently in the CBD business?
@@UpFlip I am! The name is Santa Fe CBD.
@@UpFlip Would love this as I'm in the early stages of creating a CBD business, would be so useful!

Yes, it's delicious Anthony. Are you new to the channel?
Can you please do an interview on how to run a convince store
Sure Siyanda, we'll keep this is mind. Are you currently in the convenience store business or thinking of getting into it?
@@UpFlip yes I am thinking of getting into the convince store sector
Is this how much the guy's salary is or is it just how much the Restaurant gets?
well since most restaurants net about 5% margins thats what about 85K ? to share with investors to service loans? who cares what you gross? that is immiterial !!! if you can prove a net 10-15% now you have something!! dont mislead people!
This guy is awesome
He's a great guy. 🙂What type of business are you in TeKeni?

1.7M not 1.7K
Thanks for watching Austin. $140,000 per month depending on business, sales, etc. Did you enjoy the video?
$1.7M?! Wow. Congratulations. I always hear that restaurants have such low profit margins.
We appreciate your feedback The Missing Tile. It depends on the restaurant. Would you ever get into an industry such as this?
It's 1.7m in revenue, not profit....
@@yellowboat8773 what's the Profit
@@amishbhadwa7104 60 - 80k i think
I really wish you would stop marketing business success in revenue. Revenue does not mean everything. If I make $1m in revenue but have $1m in expenses then the business is a failure
Thanks for the feedback Tommy. Revenue is just one part of a business. Have you checked out our latest video?
@@UpFlip I understand though that most businesses probably don't want to talk about profit, so makes it hard for you to make a video on their successes
Can we not exaggerate 1.7m in revenue.... if I make 100m a year in revenue but my costs to do business are 99.99m I made like 30k after tax - the way you discuss the health of this healthy business is mis guiding lol
Are you looking employees?
What happened to the mechanic one?!
Yup I was looking for that video
Thanks for watching Eksfitness. We have very strict rules on video performance and quality, if the video doesn't meet those rules, we have to take the video down in order to maintain producing quality content. Would you like to see more videos in the automotive field?
@@UpFlip yes! That would amazing! Was a decent video, understandable to take it down if it’s not up to par. But an automotive/mechanic take would be awesome! Thanks for the reply! Always watching!
I would like restaurants to pay a livable wage, I'm tired of working myself to death and still not being able to pay rent.

Thanks for watching Rob. Are you in the restaurant business?
@@UpFlip Nope but, I've been building and remodeling them for 30 years... I've known quite a few...Seattle, where that restaurant is located, is night and day to here on the east coast...The competition is Fierce.. When the economy pauses or long stretches of cold or HOT weather occur...Those bills pile up... Statistics bear out that it's one of the worst businesses to own. But I hope they found a nice niche...
Don't fool people, it's not good. It's not a "restaurant" it's a parody of a restaurant.

So after all the costs and the tax man he isn't taking home 1.7 so not even half that.
Moron, He has to pay for food, equipment, salaries, insurance. Restaurant profit margin is approximately 3-6%
