I am 48 I have been in church practically my whole life. My parents did not go to church but believed in God. I've been filled with so many different things Telling me what a Christian is I got to the point that I was confused about My walk with God, I have the biggest fear ,the most crippling fear that I will end up in hell. I cry a lot over this and I beg God not to send me to hell. And I don't want to be afraid anymore. I feel like I have suffered my whole life. Wondering whether I was really saved or not whether I was on the right path or not, this question has plagued me My whole wife, the fear is literally crippling.
Hebrews 6:4-6 warns of the danger of backsliding and rejecting Christ's sufficiency but does not teach that salvation can be lost. Genuine believers remain saved because salvation is based on Christ's finished work, not human effort. While backsliding can result in discipline, loss of fellowship, and loss of rewards, it does not nullify the eternal security of a believer. God's promise is unbreakable, and His grace is sufficient to keep His children secUre forever
“For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,” Hebrews 6:4 “and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.” Hebrews 6:6 I don’t know how you read these verses and come to the conclusion that they are talking about backsliding. My life in Christ has been the story of the prodigal son and God the Father always welcome me back home with grace and mercy. And while I was out there acting stupid, I could clearly see His hands on certain situations and I know He was there watching, calling me back home. I will eventually “repent” and go back living for Christ. Hebrew 6:4-6 said it’s impossible to bring back to repentance someone who was indwell with the Holy Spirit and then rejected God the Son. A backslider doesn’t usually reject Jesus or denied His finishing work on the cross. There are TH-cam channels where ex-believers who rejected Jesus are now preaching against the gospel and teaching others how to deconstruct their faith in Christ. There’s a big difference between these people and someone who falls back into sin for a moment or two.
obviously, everyone sins everyday. every single person who pretends they are more holy than you sins everyday. Wed all not be saved and then there would be no purpose of Christ dying
@@dsen2283 It seems to me that the author of Hebrews is pointing to someone who never knew Jesus, someone who is perhaps like Judas who experienced Jesus but never accepted Him or had a relationship with Him. They never had salvation; they simply pretended to know Him. If this person had received salvation, according to this verse, they could never repent & receive mercy & salvation from & through Jesus by grace through faith b/c there's nowhere else for them to turn b/c it's Jesus or nothing! He's the only Way, the only Truth, & the Only Life. His death was once for all people. This person was like the person on whom the seed of the Gospel fell on bad soil & they produced thorns & thistles, not fruit, though they received plenty of rain. He never had a transformed heart. The author makes it clear he's not talking about the recipients of the letter in v. 9-11. "De-constructors" were never believers as John said, " They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us," (1 John 2:19). Jesus says the same thing about Judas. John 6:64 "But there are some of you who do not believe." Judas played the part so well that no one except Jesus knew he didn't believe, thought he was with the other disciples for 3.5 years! They didn't even know it was him who would betray Jesus during the Last Supper. Some people have a head knowledge of Jesus but never get a heart knowledge. They never received Jesus, only believed (John 1:12), since that verse says you have to believe AND receive. You can't get a gift until you reach out & take it. Scripture says that even demons believe God is One & shudder (James 2:19). You also have several paragraphs in John 17(:6-26) where Jesus says that He lost none of those whom God had given Him except Judas, as was planned, & He makes a point to say not just the disciples of His time, but that He would lose none of those won to Christ from the disciples' time onward. He also prays that the Father will make us all one, so that the world may believe that the Father sent Him. V. 25-26, "O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, & these know that you have sent me. I made known to them your name, & I will continue to make it known, that the love w/ which you have love me may be in them, & I in them." These are just a few scriptures that I thought I'd add here. Much love to my brothers/sisters in Christ!
I sent this video to my husband yesterday and he watched it. Last night he had a dream. He was in church and looked outside, and the outside world was completely destroyed, except the church and the inside of the church where he was. He teared up telling me about his dream. I was so glad as I was worried about him recently. He’s been looking for comfort from the world, not understanding what the Bible says. He got the conviction he needed! Thank you so much for your teachings! You and your family are a blessing to everyone who has the ears to listen to your teachings! I am very convicted myself about changing my ways. Praise God and Jesus! ❤
Not wanting to judge you personally since I don't know you. When the creator God put man on earth for his good pleasure yet the very first man willfully sinned, he didn't simply make a mistake, he deliberately did what God told him not to do and even gave Adam warning of the consequence of disobeying. God's love was evident in the warning given. The nature of God has many faucets, he is holy meaning he has no sin, he is loving, he is righteous meaning that he always does that which is right, and he is just. Now God being just means that he will reward or deliver just judgments for sin. Remember the warning given to Adam? It was death. Why would he choose to ignore the warning? Because he was selfish and thought that God would overlook the offense. In other words, he thought of himself as being a little bit more wise and compassionate than God. This is mans sin today. Surely God won't send me to hell since I'm not that bad. God wants man to obey and love him out of desire, deliberately. So he gave man free will. Now we just like Adam can choose. But we have already sinned and missed the mark of our creators design and desire. So according to the Bible, we all are under the same curse of death as Adam. He failed to see God in a proper manner. A sinless God cannot ignore sin. He is a righteous judge and will pass an honest verdict. Until men see themselves standing in front of a righteous judge answering for their sin and knowing that the decision will be fair, the desire will be, cannot someone else pay my sin debt and allow a pardon for me? Well that is exactly what God has done for you. He sent his eternal Son who has his fathers nature, to come and be born of a virgin so that he could represent both God to man and man to God. He came as us to us and for us. He was beaten and nailed to the cross and deliberately died and with his last breath calling out to God the father saying, forgive them for they know not what they do. Then after sacrificing himself for man, on the third day he arose, victorious over sin, death, and the grave. It was God saying that he accepted his Son's blood as payment for mans sin. The bible says that it is by faith that you are saved and not of works lest any man should boast. Faith? Faith that what Jesus did for you at calvary is sufficient to pay your sin debt completely. You know that you are a sinner and waiting on God's judgment, you also with a humbled heart realize that you deserve the decision that comes from a righteous judge which is eternal death and separation from God. Knowing that there are only 2 eternal places and you won't be with him in heaven, and that he has provided a savior, his on Son to take your eternal punishment, you call on God to forgive you of your sins and save you in Jesus name. God will honor his promise that whosoever calleth upon his name shall be saved. Now that you are a child of God's, work out your salvation, simply meaning, live like you have been bought and redeemed by God's Son.
Susan, I am happy for you and your husband, growing in faith together. It's the same with me and my husband. It isn't always easy! I am touched by what your husband saw.
As a kid I went to church with my mom. We believed in Jesus. Circumstances in our life led us to blame God, we stopped going to church and ultimately “walked away” even started getting into other practices. We also resented Christians. I was lost for about 7 years. A slave to alcohol and wanted to die. I yelled out to God, angrily to save me, I still blamed Him for my consequences from my own disobedience. But He started to peruse me. Finally I went back to church. I prayed with the people there, professed my faith again, and was baptized. God removed the obsession of alcohol and promiscuity. I no longer resented Him or christians and I started to read the Bible again and to learn about Him. I prayed for years for the rest of my family. I began to feel that they would never come back. But then one by one they all came back to the lord. My mom, two sisters and my aunt. Because we were His before, He came after us as His lost sheep. And He brought us back to Himself. We are not perfect still but His grace and sacrifice is perfect, and we are in the process of being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Amen! I also had a similar experience. Saved, wandered off almost ten years and God restored me. But here's the thing. Not everyone experiences this. That doesn't mean they were never saved. It simply means "God has mercy on whom He wills". I was saved, but i know others who wandered off and died in their sin. We have to accept all off Scripture for what it is. That God will go to lengths to save His own. At the same time, there is a kairos moment for each person to return. Since no one knows when, it's best not to take His grace for granted and "work out your salvation with fear and trembling". Be blessed.
@@fidelamoah9115There is no gospel without OSAS. You can fall away from the faith but never lose your salvation. Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.
That is awesome!!! ❤❤❤ I too have been praying for a whole family to get sanctified for YEARS! Please pray for them….. thanks and God Bless! Stay strong, keep on reading The Word Everyday! We’re almost HOME! 👏 🎺 🕊️ 😇🤴😇 🕊️ 🎺 👏
Thank you for this teaching. This is a subject that has been discussed amongst my family and I have prayed for years asking God to reveal to me the truth and I was always lead to the scriptures you are using. This is confirmation for me, that God has answered my question. God bless you!
Grateful for John Bevere, his family and his dedication to biblical teaching and not shying away from “controversial” topics that are very rarely taught in churches! Praise the Lord!
In the Holy Bible, look up words & phrases such as "abide," "stand fast," "persevere," "endure," "be faithful," "remain steadfast," "endure to the end," "continue," "hold fast," etc. When you do, you quickly see that OSAS is not biblical. However, one cannot "lose" salvation. Rather, one chooses to "forfeit" her/his salvation.
Agreed, OSAS is not Biblical. I’ll add I want to be careful not to sound harsh and not loving. I comment against OSAS for what I think the same reasons others comment against it and that is a believer could become complacent or reluctant or better to say comfortable with living in sin and that act , we are told, (the act of living in sin as a believer) will bar you from an inheritance, the inheritance of the Kingdom of God.
It is Biblical. Every believer will be kept to the end, because of 1 Peter 1:5, John 6, and 1 Corinthians 1:8. Yet still, it is practically important to endure in the closer, more immediate scale of life as we strive against sin and cling to the Lord from week to week.
You can't choose to "forfeit" your salvation. That is not biblical. You are obviously confused. If we believe in Christ, we know that we have eternal life right now! You don't earn salvation at the end of your physical life because you did whatever behavior or performance until the end. 1 John 5 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
It’s true. The Lord does keep His promises. He also has promises for those who choose to live in willful habitual sin. All throughout the epistles, it warns believers to not be deceived about walking in a lifestyle of sin and what the outcome of that entails. Hebrews 10 speaks of frustrating the Spirit of Grace and that the only thing that ppl who once believed but kept deliberately sinning can expect “judgement, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries”. Think about Matt. 7 Jesus said not everyone who says Lord, Lord will make it. People who have prophesied, cast out demons, and done mighty works all in the name of Jesus will be told “depart from me, you workers of iniquity.” Our works can’t get us saved. But they do reveal the true state of our heart. I thank God He rescued me from once saved always saved. I was literally going to hell and didn’t know it.
@@joshuagould8402 I'm saved filled with the Holy Spirit . Go tell your Samson friends this teaching oh but don't read Hebrews because he's a hero of the Faith.

Thank God for you brother! The Spirit has always never allowed me to believe in OSAS false doctrine. I've been so torn over this doctrine because all I do is see alot of others follow this demonic teaching. The Spirit led me to this video, and as our Master said "Seek and ye shall find." 🙌🏼 I thank you for giving the words of wisdom and knowledge that we (as the body) ALL need to hear and follow. I love you man! Stay shining that Light and Love that you now are bro in Jesus name amen! ❤️🔥💪🏼☝🏼👑🙌🏼
I have been battling this very question for a few months now. And asked the Lord for the truth of it. Then i saw this today. I'm so glad Pastor you did do this podcast. God Bless
@@davidchupp4460 You’re wrong. I am an NDE Hell survivor and believe me, it’s not enough to just believe in Jesus, we must then get Sanctified, working out our salvation with fear and trembling, after we accept salvation initially. When people don’t do this, they return to their own vomit like dogs again, repeating the same old sins and that friend, is not Holiness. We are called to be Holy as He is Holy.
Think about what you’re saying. Are you claiming that we completely lose our free will after becoming saved? Because that would be a requirement for the position you hold. Think about that deeply.

I started a Bible Study Group recently and will be discussing this OSAS theory, which is a trick of the enemy and will sadly get many Believers caught up. I thank you both for this great message, which is The Word of God. God Bless you both. You are doing the right thing.

Great job guys. Exactly correct. To all those OSAS / lost, I say to you "Quit defending your sinful pride and turn to Me in an honest and holy way. You do that and I will NEVER leave you or forsake you "

So grateful for your study on this concept. I was a true believer, but I walked away from the faith and completely denied, not only the blood of our savior, but that we had been created by a loving God. By the grace of God, I was called back to the truth, and I have been warning Christians against unconditional security.
I have a similar story , falling into sin by listening to the enemy , It seems that the palm of God is truly open nothing can separate us from God but constant willfull rejection A point that I almost was at and I feared the Lord but he showed me mercy and has made a way in my heart to live Holy and righteous and when I fall short to understand the grace of God in Christ not to abuse it
@@WilliamsPinch if it were not for the grace of Eternal Security and the faithfulness of God to His promises, how would you have come back to the faith? Did you come back on your own? Or did Jesus come and get you?
Thank you John and Arden For tackling the hard subjects. I 100% agree, the scriptures are clear. And as long as my heart is toward God I can never be snatched out of his hand, but I do have a free will and I could choose to walk away, my father is all about free will.
Brothers you have no idea what each of you have done for me with this one ☝🏾 all I can say is ALL PRAISE BE TO THE MOST HIGH GOD AND YESHUA. Nothing but love from Louisiana to wherever yall are!
Excellent teaching from *John Bevere and son, Arden!* I met Bro. John when he came to speak at a church called Victory just outside of Bham. AL between year 2002 or 2003. I was just starting out in Ministry myself and was SO BLESSED as he taught so gracefully and truthfully the Word of God. The whole atmosphere seemed to be filled with *JOY!* _Might I add, every single thing taught here is what I teach! Bro. John gave even more scriptures_ _to validate this teaching; Arden was extremely good at pointing out the scriptures and things_ _people honestly say when they have been taught differently, for whatever the reason._ *_LOVE TO LISA AND THE ENTIRE BEVERE FAMILY!_*
Sin is not always in the form of aggressive, defiant rebellion. Look at Hebrew 2:1. We must also guard against passive negligence of Christian living. We must commune with our Lord daily.
I have had one thing after another since 2015. The latest after the Cancer , were the 2 hurricanes . Wiped out most everything . I have a car ! And this podcast really answered my question , for awhile now . If I have the “ Holy Spirit” nudging , he’s still in me !! Thank you Jesus ! Also for the reminder , I’m never alone ! Hallelujah !
From what i learned, let's say a dad gives a gift to a child, and that child accepts that gift, but later, that child would leave that gift behind broken and abandoned. We have the option to keep our gift or even abandon it. Good point on the free will and also the "erase" part. That really opened up my eyes and fed me spiritually. Thank you, Beveres, and thank you, Lord, for this beautiful family.
If you’re saved, why would you want to abandon your gift? What makes you think that it was you that started the process in the first place. God leaves the 99 and seeks the 1 lost sheep. What makes you think he stops? If you have eternal life, how could you give it up ? How was it ever eternal life ? It wasn’t eternal life if you can give it back. Ephesians 1:13-14 New King James Version 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who[a] is the [b]guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Philippians 1:6 New King James Version 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; He’s gonna finish what He started.
2 Peter 2:20-22 could describe either a backslidden believer or a false convert. If it refers to a believer, it warns of the severe consequences of falling back into sin, such as God's discipline and loss of rewards. However, if it describes false converts, it highlights the dangers of rejecting the gospel after experiencing its transformative power superficially. Either way, it does not teach a loss of salvation for true believers, as salvation is eternally secure in Christ
Yet there are many other scriptures that indicate that disciples- believers- if you continue in sin- you choose death and not life. This one scripture is stating what others reinforce.
Thank you for speaking His Truth in love. This teaching helped me tremendously to better understand 1 John 5:16-17. If people stay to the end of this podcast, you reaffirm the difference between one who is eternally lost and one who still has hope. Lord, I pray you give them ears to hear. 🧡
God sent me a dream showing me a mass of millions of people online and told me they didn’t have assurance of salvation. Once they received the word they all lit up and became full of joy and it spread like a fire 🔥 of celebration
Was pondering these Scriptures in this podcast recently. I so appreciate you addressing them head on. John, I have an old Christmas card with a photo of your family in my Bible. My mom, now deceased, found the picture and exclaimed, "Who are these people? What a beautiful family!" I think of her saying that every time I see it in my Bible. 💜
Thank you so much Pastor Bevere, I have been a Christian for many years. I question this question myself. Thank you, thank you thank you. I appreciate you, Lisa and your family in all you offer to the world. Blessings
The Lord showed this to me about 1973. Never discussed it much because it really Made people angry! So thankful someone who is known and loved by many speaks the truth!!♥️🌹🎁
As a believer, I have used the doctrine of OSAS to continue to dabble in sin. Sin enslaves. We are not saved by nor kept by works, or having our good deeds outweigh the bad. But if you continue in sin, eventually you won't care and then It is too late.
Your right so many using OSAS as an excuse to do sin/lawlessness/immorality. No we are not saved by our works, initially, done in self righteousness. Read on in Ephesians! He has created us too so good works, He prepared for us, that we should (should walk in them, but many do not, still choosing to walk self centered,) walk in them, with HIM SHOWING US, our SERVICE on His Earth. We will be judged and rewarded according to our deeds, see Revelation.
how can poeple who has been saved loving doing sin? i disagree how can someone who has been saved by grace can do sin again and feel comfortable ? no, their spirit has been raised by God rejecting them to do sin, but they still can fall doing sin unintentionally. it is different with poeple in old testament. God 's spirit did not live in them. but the ones who have received Christ not the same because the spirit of God living in us.
@@kelleykdavisify What does OSAS have to do with your thinking you can be saved and sin all you want which I have never heard anyone teach? If you pulled that from OSAS that’s on you! OSAS is clearly illustrated in 1 Cor 5 if you habitual sin you will be destroyed but still be saved “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father’s wife!” “deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
@@kelleykdavisify Paul addresses those who look for a license to sin in Romans 6: 15-16 “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! AMEN praise the lord Jesus for that healthy holy loving fear! It keeps me on the narrow path, I never want to be apart from Jesus ever again. I was the 1 out of 99 . Thank you Jesus for saving me and redeeming me!!
Thank you so much for addressing this issue. I have seen this in the Word for years but even leadership, that I believe agrees , avoids even discussing it. I am grateful for the love and truth in which you are bringing this word forward
I agree, I think this reconciles other verses where Jesus says “My sheep here my voice and they follow me, I give them eternal life and they will never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hands!” No one doubts someone can walk away, I think some of us would doubt if they ever were truly born-again!
That verse is specifically talking about the antichrist. Not the soft hearted believer who chooses to abandon the faith. A common verse taken out of context to support osas.
just because 1John says that, doesn't negate the fact that someone could once really believe, and then fall away. 1John just describes a situation where potentially: the people they were walking with was just lying about their faith on purpose, or they were believing once and fell. if you agree with the first part, that doesn't negate everywhere else that someone cant be truly saved at one point, and then fall away. Also, no one can snatch them ouit of my hands? doesn't negate the fact that you can walk out of his hand with habitual sin lifestyle.
The way your channel explains the Bible makes so much sense to me and I’ve been confused for so long until now. Thank you so much for explaining this in a way that we can understand and not live in fear. Thank you thank you 🙏 so so much!!
These men are peddling a false gospel. Don't be decieved little Children. Rest in the fact that God's word says if you are saved, God will keep you eternally secure by His power and promise. Remember God always finishes what HE starts and that those that are justified are guaranteed glorification (Romans 8:30). These false teachers certainly were never born again; the description which we have of them is the proof of it. The last verse of this chapter gives the conclusive evidence. Believers, true Christians, are never compared to dogs or swine; they are the sheep of His flock. A sheep cannot be transformed into a dog or a swine, nor will a sheep do what a dog or a swine does. They were therefore never the true children of God. They had escaped the outward pollutions of the world, which is a different thing from the escape of the corruption which is in the world by lust; the latter stands for the inward deliverance by the new birth, the former for an outward reformation which had taken place when they professed the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, when for a time forsaking their evil ways so that they escaped the pollutions. But not having a new nature they became entangled therein and overcome, so that it was worse with them than in the beginning, before they had made a profession. They had known the way of righteousness as made known in the gospel of Christ, but the life which is offered in that way of righteousness, with the fruits of righteousness which follow, they had never accepted by a living faith. And this seems to be the case with the vast majority of the false teachers of today, the destructive critics, and those who deny the deity of our Lord. They were never born again; they never had a true experience of real salvation, hence they are but natural men, not having the Spirit
Thankyou for discussing sound doctrine. I felt the same way about Salvation after reading the gospels by myself and under the Holy Spirit’s guidance. “Those who endure till the end will be saved” Jesus repeatedly said this and it was the bottomline for me. Thankyou for your obedience to the Lord❤
Thank you for dealing with this question. I have struggled with confidence in my salvation and often felt inadequate. But the way you described the backslider versus someone who lost their salvation gave me great hope and frankly great joy. Your courage in covering this topic has meant a lot to me so thank you very much.
2 Peter 2:21 This passage is not about Christians but is part of a broader section in 2 Peter 2 where the apostle Peter warns against false teachers and their destructive influence. These individuals once had some knowledge of "the way of righteousness" (the gospel and the teachings of Christ), but they deliberately turned away from it, returning to sinful behavior.
@joyceburns2613 to warn the church that there would be false (unsaved) teachers infiltrating deceiving, promoting false doctrine, taking their money under false pretence etc so beware. As in: Ephesians 4:14 KJV That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Stick with the kjv to get a clearer understanding. If you believe you can lose your salvation, then you do not believe that God has given us eternal life but conditional life. You are calling God a liar. 1 John 5:10-13 KJV He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Thank you so much for being courageous and still doing this teaching despite whatever blowback you could face. It was such a great video, and I will most definitely be sharing it with others. BIG blessings and squishy squeezes for and the family! 🙏🤗💖
You are 100% correct! Thank you for being faithful to Scripture on this topic instead of being swayed by human reasoning. Someone who believed in "once saved, always saved" told me that her reasoning was that "once you're born, you can't be unborn." That's human reasoning not Scriptural teaching. And even if we use human reasoning, it can be said that "once you're born, even if you can't be unborn, you CAN die."
I listen to this podcast because i believe that we, Christians can lose our salvation. Because the scriptures in the Bible said so. And i love to listen to other Christians and hear how they preach this topic. 😊 My husband and i had brought out this topics to Christians around us, they all disagree even though we show them many scriptures in the bible, and many did not have the interest to talk about it. 😢 May mercy and grace of the Lord be upon us, and let all of us to increase in the knowledge of him.
Agreed. Look up words & phrases such as "abide," "stand fast," "persevere," "endure," "be faithful," "remain steadfast," "endure to the end," "continue," "hold fast," etc. It is evident that one can freely choose to "forfeit" salvation.
@@dilailamarie6549 There many verses that prove OSAS! The wages of sin is death but even the worst habitual sinner upon death wouldn’t forfeit his salvation clearly illustrated in 1 Cor 5 “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father’s wife!” “deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
@@dilailamarie6549 Why are you so easily put off by John's message? Jesus said many wonderful things. You have to combine ALL of His words to understand that Jesus will not be mocked. Open up your bible and read Revelation 3. There Jesus is telling the Church of Sardis; "I will blot out your name from the book of life!" Those are the words of Jesus my friend. He has the right to blot out names who proclaim to be believers but live under false Doctrine and lawlessness. Sit down and read about the 7 churches in the book of revelation and make sure your heart isn't aligned with those Churchs that God will NOT allow entrance into His kingdom. Just read it and see for yourself
The understanding of the difference between my "soul" and "Spirit" and the revelation of the finished work of Calvary to not only allow me to receive a new nature but to sever me...by faith truly sever me from the old .....This enabled me to tap in to the power I needed to stand....... I do know that as believers we have a choice but if a believer Identifies as being both a sinner and a saint at the same time it short circuits the power available.....
This message is spot-on. I love the part of the message where it talks about where people use the example where God says He'll never leave you nor forsake you. All of the people who go and visit Hell and meet Jesus in their near-death experiences have said when you wind up in Hell, you inherently know it's because you sent yourself there. You chose to go there and it was not God that sent you there. No one is blaming God for sending them there because you inherently know in your spirit hardwired that you sent yourself there by sinning and that the price and cost of that sin is eternal damnation. Even those who were not raised in the church who were never taught about any of this are in Hell knowing that they sent themselves there. This is according to an unbelievable amount of testimonies of near-death experience survivors who have come back and shared this.
Ouch that's tough but this conversation is needed exactly how it's been given! Thank you God for letting us go deep with you. And thank you guys for walking with the holy Spirit.
Thank you so much for making a video on this subject. God is so good and faithful! He will get His truth out there one way or another. God bless you John and Arden.
Exactly! and the only way you give it back is if you stop believing that Jesus's sacrifice ( his death and Resurrection) wasn't enough to put you in right relationship with God the father. Jesus Christ is our righteousness! Because we could never be righteous enough no matter how much we "try and try and try" to be sinless. There will always be one more thing that we feel that we have to overcome. And this is quite literally the whole reason why Jesus had to die for us. God the Father sees that because of our sinful nature due to the fall of adam, we would always stumble and fall and sin sin sin. And because he loves his creation so much he wanted to figure out a way to save us from our sinful nature. Jesus Christ, is one and only son, the sinless perfect sacrifice was the answer! The only one real Sin we have to watch out for is the sin of unbelief and doubt! We have to remind ourselves on a daily basis that Jesus Christ is our righteousness! Every time we stumble sin or fall, we have a tendency to feel we're letting God down and then we feel we have to do more to please him. The moment we start doing that, that's the moment when unbelief and doubt attack us. Trying to steal our faith from Jesus's perfect sacrifice. The whole reason why God would not let the Israelites into the promised land was because they doubted him. That is the sin. It is doubting Jesus is perfect beautiful Priceless sacrifice! When we doubt that, we devalue the price he paid for our righteousness. This is what makes Jesus so worthy and truly the only one who deserves all the praise and glory. Because we have had to do nothing except believe not only that he died and Rose again, but that his blood was sufficient enough to cleanse us from all our past present and even future sin. When we get that revelation, that we actually are saved once and for all and nothing can stop us from losing our salvation. Nothing! I will say it again, absolutely nothing! When we walk in that understanding and revelation, suddenly you get full of peace knowing that you are accepted by the Lord just as you are. Satan comes to steal our faith. That is the only thing that he and the deceitfulness of sin is after. The deceitfulness of sin is doubt! Anyway, I don't know why I'm preaching here. But it was recently that I Came Upon This understanding that 90% of the church is teaching much of the false doctrine that Paul was fighting against! I had no idea how bad it was until I started listening to this guy named Louis scott. Scripture after scripture line upon line etcetera etcetera. I started to understand that we are actually saved once and for all & that once saved is always and forever saved. And the only one thing that might affect your salvation is doubting that Jesus is death and Resurrection wasn't enough to save you in the first place. No matter how much we sin - when we actually realize that it is God's grace that has saved us find there isn't one darn thing we could do better to make us more saved. That's when we find the actual gospel! That is the gospel! God has looked for and will continue to do every single possible thing that he can do to try to bring us to faith. Because he wants to save us. He doesn't want to judge us. So every time we mess up, God truly is not standing over our head looking to judge us. He is trying so hard for us to believe that Jesus is righteousness is good enough to make us righteous. And that is the gospel! The gospel of grace! The actual and true good news!
@foxecarpentress4964 I'm sorry but you could be an angel and if you're speaking or preaching a different gospel, then it's a false gospel. You believe that Jesus Christ is your righteousness and his sacrifice was enough, and your faith is in him and him alone, and not works, you're saved and there's nothing or no one that can ever take your salvation. For anyone to say that you can lose your salvation, that is a false gospel and it's from the pit of hell. The only one way you can lose your salvation is to stop believing and having faith that Jesus was the perfect sacrifice and that his blood washes and cleanses your past present and even future sins! Any other message or gospel outside of that, regardless of it coming from an nde for a prophet or a preacher or a church etcetera etcetera, any other gospel besides that, is a false gospel! Even if it's well-intentioned.
@@troymykink6322 You said you can't lose your salvation, then said you can 😵 The moment we believe in Jesus Christ we ARE SEALED with the Holy Spirit of Promise!! Just as the Ark was sealed by God He also seals all who believe in His only begotten son. All that the Father gives to Jesus Christ He shall lose NONE OF THEM.
I’ve struggled with this for years. And finally settled on, a confession of Christ is far different from a repentant, committed, abiding follower of Christ. 🤷🏻♀️ But so true what John said, “this has helped me walk in a healthier biblical fear of the Lord and holiness!” I definitely want that!🙌🏼
This is great. I was literally just pondering on this topic about a week or two ago. I feel like once saved always saved gives a false hope to people & an excuse for sin. I’m glad you gave so much scripture to back it up 🙏🏽
The state of continuous belief is salvation it is not an event it's a continuous so it's only logical to believe that when one stops believing he abandons the narrow way. This is why John 15 emphasis on abiding in christ once you gain comfort outside Christ you begin to resent, discredit even lose faith in Christ. You're attempting to look back while holding the Plough, stay there long enough you're lost always return/repent to abide in christ if you remain fallen you're lost.
Did anyone ever read this verse from the New Testament? They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1 John 2:19 It says, "no doubt."
Thank you for this video. I just had a debate over this very subject, and yes, it can be very divisive. Matter of fact, I’ve been dealing with my own backsliding and wrestling with my past sins, and I asked the Lord to provide me with what I need to know about OSAS theology. He answered my prayer because I wasn’t looking for this message but it came up as recommended (on a computer that I was not logged onto TH-cam.). Again, the Lord shows me He is listening as He has provided me with the answers for months now on my questions to better understand His Word!
You are either growing closer to God, or getting further away. Because, if you stay the same, you are slipping away. Strive for intimacy, and you'll remain steadfast.
How can I get closer to God, any man in Christ is a new creature, he gave us a new heart or inner man, that Christ come to live in by his Spirit that will lead you and guide you, we receive from God what he has prepared for them that love him by believing him for them, the just shall live by faith, stop striving and start believing.
@@EugeneHolley-rc6ry Depends on what you mean by striving. Because the same Bible says we should "press on". To press on is synonymous to striving. However, if you are referring to doing good works to get God's favor, then you are right.
@@fidelamoah9115 Hi Fidalamoah, we are saved by grace through faith, we can do nothing for salvation other than put our trust in the fact Jesus did it all for us, we are not saved by grace through faith and striving, that is a separate issue, I was only referring to salvation of our soul, or the being eternally saved. Blessings.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have read the same things in the Word and have had many discussions with people who go away believing that what they were taught is more important to what the Bible says. Although there are even more scriptures than what you mentioned concerning the subject, my question is always, “What good can come from teaching someone that they can never lose their salvation?”
OSAS believer here. I have simple and friendly question for the opposing crowd. When you became saved, do happen to remember the precise date and time of the last sin you committed before then?
Dude. Like… I agree with you. If one saved always saved, wasn’t true then nobody could be assured of their salvation. So how could anybody logically go around with the joy and peace of God if they don’t know if they’ll be saved until they die. And the only fallback is your works if you can’t rely on Jesus’s word that no one will pluck you from his hand, even yourself once you believe.
@@FrankAndSenseDSM I think the single greatest source of their confusion is this weird idea that OSAS equates to a "license to sin." I've been around OSAS believers for decades and literally never once, not once, ever encountered a Christian who thinks that believing in eternal security equals a license to sin. And I can promise, if you find someone who does think that, it's worth considering if their salvation was genuine to begin with.......that's not even in the ball park of losing it, though. It's dumbfounding.
You can choose to leave God and forsake him and go on to live a life of sin after being saved. Once the trumpet sounds you will not be with him in heaven because you by an act of your will forsook him
@@mrsxber1916 It's true that we can run away from God. Many professing Christians have done just that in my generation alone. The fact that we have a choice has never been challenged, at least not here, so far as I can tell. Let me ask you this. When the Bible specifies multiple times, that Christ paid the price for our sins, which sins did He pay for?
how do you address God's sovereignty over salvation regarding this topic? if someone can lose their salvation then salvation is dependent on the person rather than God's sovereign act of grace/mercy. please address if possible, thank you!
Thank you. This is super important! Warning: fear falling in habitual sin, listen to the Holy Spirits conviction, not condemnation. You guys discussing what has been on my mind recently, I struggle, but Blessed be to God, I am troubled, but so desperately want to be with the Lord. I repent, forgive me Lord. Bless you guys.
@ partner? Now God has a partner show me the scripture that tells people God makes you his Partner, he’s your helper, he helps you, not you helping him, the next thing is you admit that the Holy Spirit gives you the ability to endure and remain right? Then how can you then not endure or remain? Does the Holy Spirit revokes that ability or is it the case where your sins are too big for him and he leaves? You can’t say the Holy Spirit Gives you the ability to remain and endure then also say “if you don’t” remain and endure then you lose your salvation, it’s either you’ve been given the ability to do so or not.
@ so in a covenant, I don’t have to remain faithful in it? And yes, the Spirit is my Helper. And yes, I must partner with Him to endure. I don’t have to listen to Him or abide by His conviction or His discipline. I can despise it. No verses where one can walk away from God or the father?
Thank you for this. I slipped away a couple of times and have come back. I don't believe I've ever denied Jesus but just was lacking in my daily lifestyle and drifted away, got caught up in a wing relationship and have been restored.
There are many examples of genuine men of God who continued in adultery for ions. Would you consider that they were never saved? If they were never saved, then how did they preach the Gospel to save others? A false disciple cannot disciple a true disciple.

@@kevimc Demas had the Holy Spirit and yet fell away. Unless you want to claim that Paul "falsely" called him "brother"? Because as far as I know, a brother in Christ is one with the Holy Spirit. And secondly, 2 Peter isn't the only Book that talks about the probability of Christians falling away. Jesus preached it, Paul preached it, James preached it, John preached it. 1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his "brother" committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life - to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. Hebrews 6:4-6 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have SHARED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age- and then have FALLEN AWAY-to be restored to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.
I do not believe you can lose your salvation like you can lose your car keys. But I believe you can reject your salvation of your own free will. Luv your teaching, John.
Lol so then ultimately it all boils down to YOU and YOUR doing. How well you are doing in turning from YOUR sins. sounds like a self centered gospel you got there bud. How about CHRIST CHRIST CHRIST gospel? Its all about him.
“For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,” Hebrews 6:4
“and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.” Hebrews 6:6
I don’t know how you read these verses and come to the conclusion that they are talking about backsliding.
Amen!!
I made known to them your name, & I will continue to make it known, that the love w/ which you have love me may be in them, & I in them."
These are just a few scriptures that I thought I'd add here.
Thanks for more clarity on this topic. In so many ways, you boldly went where some would never go before.
Hello from Romania! Good message! God bless You!
Amedeo Dima&Roxana Dima❤
Amen!
God bless you child of God.❤
what a beautiful testimony. Thank you for sharing how Gods been faithful to you through adversities.
Be blessed.

Even though one can " forfeit" their salvation, nonetheless...it is STILL A LOSS! Regardless of using the word "lose", to lose something is a LOSS!
You can't choose to "forfeit" your salvation. That is not biblical. You are obviously confused. If we believe in Christ, we know that we have eternal life right now! You don't earn salvation at the end of your physical life because you did whatever behavior or performance until the end.
1 John 5
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
@@GiftofGrace88 So who is Hebrews 6:4-6 referring to then?
God is faithful above all else. He keeps His Promise no work can be added to the finished work on the cross of Jesus. Saved 💥

I absolutely LOVE hearing Arden’s thoughts and perspective.

1John just describes a situation where potentially:
the people they were walking with was just lying about their faith on purpose, or they were believing once and fell.

2 Peter 2:21 This passage is not about Christians but is part of a broader section in 2 Peter 2 where the apostle Peter warns against false teachers and their destructive influence.
Thank you brothers in Christ for this in depth conversation!
So good! Absolutely loved this episode. All your podcasts are great and biblically based! God bless!✝️

Since Salvation is gift from God, the only way to lose it is to give it back... 🙏
Correct. Its a conscious decision
Exactly!
and the only way you give it back is if you stop believing that Jesus's sacrifice ( his death and Resurrection) wasn't enough to put you in right relationship with God the father.
The way to lose it, is by keeping on sinning instead of serving in His Divine Love!!! ❤
I am a NDE Hell Survivor.
@@troymykink6322 You said you can't lose your salvation, then said you can 😵
The moment we believe in Jesus Christ we ARE SEALED with the Holy Spirit of Promise!! Just as the Ark was sealed by God He also seals all who believe in His only begotten son. All that the Father gives to Jesus Christ He shall lose NONE OF THEM.
Amen John and Arden!! Great episode, as usual. God Bless You both!
God bless You - John Bevere.
Amen.
I’ve struggled with this for years. And finally settled on, a confession of Christ is far different from a repentant, committed, abiding follower of Christ. 🤷🏻♀️
But so true what John said, “this has helped me walk in a healthier biblical fear of the Lord and holiness!” I definitely want that!🙌🏼
You didn't even mention believing in Jesus for eternal life.
"Is it possible to lose your salvation?" Is not the correct question. The better question is: Can you lose something you don't fully possess?
This is great. I was literally just pondering on this topic about a week or two ago. I feel like once saved always saved gives a false hope to people & an excuse for sin. I’m glad you gave so much scripture to back it up 🙏🏽
Do you know they accused Paul of being to free grace? His response was how can we that died to sin live in it any longer
Checking it out, if i could lose salvation, then my Christianity would be one of works. I would be working at keeping hold of it.
no, you work at sanctification, not salvation. You literally choose to accept or reject God's FREE gift of salvation.
What a nice and friendly person Arden is. A true balancer in this podcast. ❤️👍🏻🔥💪🏼
Did anyone ever read this verse from the New Testament?
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
1 John 2:19
It says, "no doubt."
Thank you for teaching on this subject. God bless you all.❤
Yes this is The Word The Truth! Thank you for ministering this!
You are either growing closer to God, or getting further away. Because, if you stay the same, you are slipping away. Strive for intimacy, and you'll remain steadfast.
Love the intimacy part. God bless you.
Once saved, saved forever. This is perfectly biblical.
JESUS CHRIST NEVER LIES AND NEVER DID IN JOHN CH 3 VERSE 16
The message in this podcast can benefit many and lead us to true freedom.
Jesus died for all our sins; not some.
God bless you and your family, John!
how do you address God's sovereignty over salvation regarding this topic? if someone can lose their salvation then salvation is dependent on the person rather than God's sovereign act of grace/mercy. please address if possible, thank you!
1 Thess 5:16 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 🙏🏾❤️🔥
I am so glad for this podcast. This is what I also believe.
It is possible to lose your salvation.
I believe in “Once Saved Always Saved” as long as you endure; remain faithful; and remain “in” Christ to the very end…
Same here.
So let me ask you a question could you Have faith, Endure before you were a Christian, or rather could you have been a “good” person all by yourself?
@ partnering with the Holy Spirit, I have the ability to endure and remain “in” Christ by walking in the Spirit.
If believing in "once saved always saved" causes you to feel less convicted whenever you sin, then that's a red flag.
There are many examples of genuine men of God who continued in adultery for ions. Would you consider that they were never saved? If they were never saved, then how did they preach the Gospel to save others? A false disciple cannot disciple a true disciple.
@fidelamoah9115 I mean if OASA leads you to feel comfortable in sinning.
@@fidelamoah9115 are you dividing the word of truth, those men that sinned, were they old Testament, are they Jews under the law, there are many false teachers, that is what 2nd Peter is teaching on, do you have the HOLY SPIRIT, if so you are Jesus's
That’s currently me.
LOVE THE TRUTH ..... THANK YOU , JOHN FOR BRINGING THE WORD TO OPEN HEARTS OF UNDERSTANDING . LOVING US PROPERLY ...
I do not believe you can lose your salvation like you can lose your car keys. But I believe you can reject your salvation of your own free will. Luv your teaching, John.
I really appreciate you diving into this topic. So helpful.
It's real simple turn so you don't burn. Stay in the word and stop loving sin over Jesus .
Lol so then ultimately it all boils down to YOU and YOUR doing. How well you are doing in turning from YOUR sins. sounds like a self centered gospel you got there bud. How about CHRIST CHRIST CHRIST gospel? Its all about him. What are you going to tell christ when you meet him? i repented enough of my sins I turned from my sins I did good i , ME ME ME. all about me. How about faith in the redemption and mercy of christ that was poured out on the cross?
if you read the book of romans chapter 3-4 its all about Christ rightouesness not your own rightouesness. and through faith you get clothed with HIS rightouesness, you see its all about him from the beginning to the end.
@@langw2461If you read Romans 6 it says to Christians several times not to use your body for an instrument of sin but for an instrument of righteousness. Jesus says to abide in His words, which I think is what believing in Him means. Doesn’t mean we’re not saved by grace and that God won’t forgive us when we ask but it means we have all the more reason to do works out of a glad heart.
“Working together with Christ, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” 2 Corinthians 6:1
@@langw2461yes. People who don’t believe that Christ’s righteousness is enough, they trample under the foot the Son of God. I did that for a long time, living in fear, not trusting in Christ’s sacrifice.
God is good, and his sacrifice is enough.
