When I first came to Christ, I felt like I was saved. When I came across the idea of fearing God, I thought to myself, why do I need to fear God. Immediately the Holy Spirit admonished me and I knew I had work to do.

Ive asked God "what is my part in this walk of faith?" This really gave clarity on the difference of me trying to earn vs putting in effort. Great podcast 👏

Obey, the Word of God is DOING THE WILL OF FATHER.
      JESUS SAYS
I'M HERE TO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER
      ONLY BY FAITH

    • @MattHudson21

@barbaraervin2537 this is true, and by faith, what grace has made available. Jesus Christ full of grace. Growing in grace led by the Holy Spirit. I asked and the answer was clear. Earning and effort and the difference of the two. The effort I put into a relationship in any relationship is my part. Bless God in these comments. Blessings to you and yours in Jesus name.

We are in agreement on doing the will of the Father. And to know His will is to know His word. And we engage in our relationship, we pray and worship and read His word. We put in effort, we show up, we by faith move.

Grace leads to works of Faith. That faith works as we know and apply God's love. That Faith comes and grows the more we get in God's presence and fellowship with him one on one.. That Faith working through revelation knowledge of his love cast out all fears= results in rest, acceptance, joy ,confidence etc..😊
Even our effort comes from the Lord because the word says in Philippines that it is God who works in us to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose..
God is working it all out.
1 Corinthians 1 says God is faithful and it is him who makes us stand firm to the end etc...

    I just purchased your book,
The Bait of Satan. I read the introduction and 1st chapter and cried like a baby. I litterly suppressed offense for years and had no idea, but the fruit was present in my walk. I have told every person I met about this book, and all of them have purchased it. We started a book club!!! I can't wait to purchase every last one of your books that are definitely GOD breadth. I'm living out my freedom and never to get trapped again by the Spirit of offense. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PODCAST!!! The fear of the LORD gets rid of all fear. Wow, I can't wait to purchase. Father & Son. 👏🏾

I am 63 now. I became a Christian 5 years ago. I am slowly but steadily being changed in the inside and also outwardly, though there's still much for me to overcome and be delivered from. It's not easy, but it's a 1000x's better doing life with Jesus. It's NEVER too late.
God bless you and surround you in His grace, through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the power of The Holy Spirit. Amen.

Yup, being kind and being nice are two different things. Kind can look like nice at times. But when a brother/sister NEEDS rebuke in order, kind offers that rebuke in love, whereas nice is too weak to offer that rebuke and allows the brother/sister to continue to hurt themselves.

I'm so happy I found you, John. You draw me closer to God, not just my relationship with Jesus. You remind me that it's not just about loving and following Jesus, but creating and fostering an intimacy with God, and to fear him. Ironically, my journey began because I have always feared God and tried to show Him in worthy. I didn't realize I have always been worthy, but I have to value the love and acceptance He gives me through grace.

Step by step I found was helpful. As long as you are aware of what needs worked on I felt that was more important initially. Bit by bit I think you will be built up stronger in all areas, some faster than others. All the best.

Another thought. If you have felt spiritually strong at points in the past but fallen back, I believe your journey will be less difficult. I often hear the word 'refinement' to describe 2 steps forward, one back. God is working on those who are pushing themselves up but a few setbacks may happen - these I think seek to make us more resilient.

Brother or sister. Please listen to me.
If there were something you could do in your own flesh to improve your standing before God, Christ wouldn't have needed to come and die for us.
You ARE complete in Christ. (Colossians 2:10-15)
True sanctification is not a life long process, (which would be dead works), but rather a completed act accomplished once for all through the offering of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:10). In God's eyes, believers are rendered "unimpeachable and without blemish" as a result of their union with Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Many traditional views mistakenly place the burden of holiness on the believer’s performance, leading to a cycle of condemnation and a misunderstanding of one's standing before God.
Focus on your identity in Christ. And what you now have.
The reality now is Christ in us the hope of glory.
Justification is far more than just the forgiveness of sins. But you wont hear MacArthur, Bevere or Washer talk about it. Or 99% of churches today.
Sanctification is a completed act of being set apart through Christ, rather than a progressive journey of moral improvement.
Shift your focus from self-effort to reliance on Christ. Rest in your identity as sanctified individuals and enjoy what what God has provided to you freely, which is the Lord Christ Jesus.
      Don't believe me? Ask yourself.
What is the book of Galatians about?
Why did Paul need to write that letter?
As a believer, your condition does not affect your position in the body of Christ. We're all stuck in this sinful flesh, and we sin 24/7, and unfortunately, it will never stop until we see Jesus.
Don't let these wolves tell you that you need to get out into the fields and "work harder". That's literally the way of Cain when they do. (1 John 3) will tell you all about that.
Remember that the strength of sin is the law. (1 Corinthians 15:56) And any so called law keeping is just law breaking. You are dead to the law. (Galatians 2:19 / Romans 7:2-4)
      The law was given so that sin would abound (Romans 5:20-21), it's job is to teach you a lesson and bring you into a crisis, where you eventually just bottom out. And cry out to Jesus;
"Oh wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" (Romans 7:24-25)
Your regenerated spirit and the flesh are constantly at war with one another. (Galatians 5:17)
You might think you're a mess, but in reality the Lord is just showing you that His grace is sufficient for you. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
You ARE a fellow heir with the Lord Jesus Christ. And there is no burden on you. He took that burden for you.
I hope this blessed you. 👋

I often thought the scripture that says 'My people are perishing because they lack knowledge' talks about how people don't know enough scriptures or laws in the Bible. But here it was explained so simple and beautifully that it's the lack of knowledge of God, not knowing God.
Again it always bothered me when I thought the Bible says we should fear God. In this podcast it was explained, it's the fear of being separated from God.
It's my first time seeing this channel. I love it and I'm so grateful to God about it.

Something I thought about was keeping it real in our relationships. I want my words to match my heart, but for my actions to fully support my hearts desires.
Needing approval is never the importance, but self esteem, self respect, and a whole lot of grace. Like when I'm working out it's almost like I'm turning a part of me off and putting something on. I have been failing to meet my expectations. Not by a long run. But like I'm getting myself in position. And it's coming, it's here, the desire. Like you said, "The potential is all there" we just need to work it out. " I like that thank you.

Thank you for providing a platform for Christians to grow in their faith. May GOD bless you and your family. Praise Jesus for his abundant grace and mercy!

Although God has amazingly used me for different purposed of my life at different time, I felt I am stuck with my growth towards being Christ-like. So thank you for discussing this!

this answered my confusion. i have watched a lot of preachers, pastors or ministers saying that works does not get us to heaven which is true but it lacks further explanation as to what to do once you start believing. i know i have to do something to make my faith stronger and have a relationship with our Lord Jesus and this gives me a list of what i need to remember to be aligned with the path our Lord wants me to be. ❤

Oh WOW! This video just pieced everything together and helped me to FINALLY understand a dream from a few years ago and things God has been speaking to me for quite some time. It's as if God put this video together JUST FOR ME! I am mind blown! 😭🙌 God has shown me in dreams and spoke to me several things you spoke of, most of it was all in the clip at the very beginning of this video. Self control, the walls falling down, the fear of God, and,, I just started reading in 2 Peter a few days ago.
So a few years ago I was saying self control is the most difficult for me out of all the fruits of the Spirit. I had a dream a few years ago and it was really just God showing me what looked like an old, I think roman looking "building" but it had no walls. It only had huge, tall pillars, but in the dream they had all been broken, and so there was just the bases of short, broken pillars on a big concrete slab.
I woke up, wrote it all down, and then I was trying to figure out what it meant. I thought "Oh! It's about the whitehouse!" But I was not confident at all.. I finally stopped trying to figure it out on my own what that dream meant. And also, for the past several months, maybe close to a year, I keep hearing in my Spirit "The fear of God." And I keep seeing it everywhere now, or it stands out to me now. And not quite a year ago, I found something that jumped out at me. It was talking about a building or structure w no walls, or broken walls and how that had to do with no self control. So I knew immediately, that was what God was telling me in my dream. But I was still like, Ok, thank You God, but I still need to know what all this means, there's got to be more to it.. And still, I'm hearing "The fear of God" all of the time. So I have been trying to figure it out. And you actually helped me figure out those things in this video that God has been showing me and speaking to me.
    This is amazing! Hallelujah! 🙌🙌🙌

My story is almost the same, apart from the content of your dream. Mine demonstrated the same but differently.
Fear of God and through that will come the self control l need so much more of.
God keep you close surrounded by His grace, through the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and by the power of The Holy Spirit. Amen.

I struggled so much to read the bible and because of that I did not grow much as a christian of 40+ years. I do speak in tongue and saw God 's deliverance but I managed to let a spiritual leader talk me out of speaking in tongue and confess the scriptures. Long story. But thanks to your video on speaking in tongue, I am back on the saddle. I was mad at the person and myself for allowing this to happen.
