This layout is difficult to fault in any aspect. It shows the ingenuity and craftsmanship of its creator in so many areas and also, incidentally shows the beauty of 'O' gauge.
Superb... just superb modelling again! Everything is so realistic, I felt I was there. Even the sound, normally a distraction, is so convincing. You are a master in every scale.
What a beautiful layout thank you for sharing, really enjoyed you sharing how you modelled some of the items and scenery.Happy new year, I really love a track plan for your 009 layout..I love the top train and bottom sections...I live near Bridgnorth...the railway that runs up and down the hill would be a wonderful special to model...
Thanks so much! Did you notice the houses / shops on the OO9 layout were inspired by the row of houses near the station at Bridgnorth? I love that town. The cliff railway would indeed be good to model! I used to live in Halesowen and visited a lot since I was a toddler. The track on the OO9 is quite simple; you can see all the points. I will try and get a plan drawn up for the next vid I do for it.
I too model 0 gauge, only mine is in the garden from shed to shed via a large 'U' loop that takes in most of the garden. My layout is pure GWR in the late 30's. I try to use most of my space in the sheds for stations ans associated detail such as groups of people doing things, talking or even arguing. One such scene is a poacher caught by 'his lordship' on horse back with shotgun across the saddle and trusty hound watching the poacher minutely whilst a policeman is noting all the details in his book! I have many scenes that seem to create action like I have a workman sat down reading the paper while the foreman of a jobbing metal works is explaining to his lathe turner why he has no time to make tea when the other bloke is off reading the paper somewhere!! You have done a truly wonderful job of the scenery including the buildings and junk scattered around. Well done mate. Regards, Paul - born in Stourbridge - small world?
Ah that sounds really excellent Paul! I used to go to Stourbridge occasionally to the record shop and rock pub a few decades ago! Thanks for watching and for the kind comments!
@@Guitar6ty Thank you so much, that's really kind of you. I keep trying to improve the videos as much as I can. Dapol O gauge is excellent, as you say. Most of mine were purchased at bargain prices as 'not quite perfect' but run very well.

Happy New Year, Ian. Another great looking layout, we really like your modelling. On another note, Dylan is going to have a go at a 3D printed 009 loco kit, so hopefully, it will be on one of his update videos in the near future ... Cheers James 😊👍
Thank you! Yes, Lockdown was certainly a time to get creative and reflective. The layout is 8' long by only 1' deep with a traverser at one end which is nearly a foot and a half.
What a great railway you've made and upcycling at the same time, please don't look on this as criticising don't for get put the crewmen in the engines, all that work you went to with the scenery really good
@Elvinley I hope to see her running over the trestle from Langstone harbour to Hayling Island eventually but watching your video has given me an idea and I may have to borrow her myself for my own layout. Your idea about a preservation line has given me the basis of a nice little layout 👍

Fantastic layout 👍. You're a very talented man. Love it.

I spotted this in RM back in 2021 and fell in love with it; just such a brilliantly modelled cameo. Well done and happy new year to you 😊

A really well made railway that is an inspiration to me. Good to hear how you made some of the items.

It is indeed! The volunteers of the Hendy Valley Railway 'borrowed' it for a while.
