Dude what a MOD, holy shit. Made my sympathize with Blue and Team Rocket and love the way it used little plot points in the game to really make it feel you where playing the otherside of Gen1 - I need a link to the creator cause I need to tip them for this.
The way they weave small plot points and theories in the game is really good honestly. My only issue with the story is that sometimes it goes from giving characters morally grey motivations and backstories, to straight up vilifying them. (Specifically oak and red) because apparently we just need some bad guy to take down. Also the fact the war is never really resolved, even though everyone was pissed at oak for surrenduring and then wanted to stop him when he wanted to take kanto back. It feels more like those clickbait "the villain was right" videos sometimes.
I'm starting to Respect Blue i mean i know that Red is the MC of FR and LG But come on!!! Killing another Trainer's Pokemon!!!? That's just so Flipping Wrong like could you imagine if the only reason poeple own Dogs is to make Earn big Money trough Dogfights?
As somebody who played the orginial red way back when it was released I knew immediately which pokemon you were supposed to catch with the master ball... especially when they sent you to the catching tutorial guy (because you needed to talk to him for that missigno glitch to work in the original games) - brilliant!
I love how "Yes" is the only thing Red can say other than "..." because that's really the only word he would need to progress through Pokemon Centers, Pokemarts, story points, etc.
Omg i didnt even realize this until you pointed it out! I'm learning more and more about this mod that makes me love it just as much! Cause the attention to detail is amazing!
Fun fact: if you beat Red in the first battle (which you can do if you hack in pokemon/levels), Red actually has some pretty funny dialogue. I did so because I was curious with this battle and I was impatient with level grinding at the time.
I like how this story directly feeds into Gold and Silver with your detainment. The admins are trying to get Giovanni back because you were boss for only a day.
@@RaphielShiraha64 In the spanish version of this mod you can actually go to johto in the postgame, thus, you can actually get Team rocket to win without Red interfering, however, on this normal english version (the one we all know), the postgame is simply you fighting the gym leaders and defeating the elite 4 after leaving your jail.
@@dylanzlol7293 Do you have a link to it? because i'm pretty sure the official creator of this romhack is not spanish, so wouldn't make sense for that to exist unless it's fanmade.
@@RaphielShiraha64 he's confused, there is another version of team rocket edition that is made by a spanish guy, it's not a fangame just another version where you can go to Johto
@@RaphielShiraha64 also that version has a LOT of more content than this one, i mean in that version there's even the original dragon, The one who separated into Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem.
Red bumping into you every time you meet is so intimidating and really sets that attitude of him only caring about his final destination, not whatever happens to be in the way.
When he bumped you outside the hideout and you end up covering the way, thats also perfect because the first time Red goes there in-game, theres actually a grunt covering that entrance. It sent chills down my spine with the accuracy
I love how well written this hack is, all the silliness about genetic experiments aside it shows how sad Blue's life really is: all he wants to do is make his grandpa proud of him, but Oak cares so much more about Red he barely even speaks to Blue when he's champion.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but the Agatha part makes sense as she gets replaced by Koga in the Johto E4 It amazes me how well this was made There’s so many layers that make sense in cannon
@@jzk0517 this rom hack is perfectly able to be canon, in fact everytime that i play firered and see the team rocket grunt guarding the fossils or the team rocket grunt on silph co. that drops the key, i think of this rom hack, we need more different-pov rom hacks.
The thing that gets me is that the old guy in Viridian is crucial to the original MissingNo glitch, so to have him be Shigeki is..... *chef's kiss* perfect
i think this hack is HEAVILY influenced by the pokemon adventures manga, as I have read a lot of the manga and it has a lot of story beats in common, such as the Lt surge smuggling and Blaine's association with team rocket
The way I see it, when grill beat him, he showed the first sign of personal expression in an exclamation mark out of surprise, so losing his first battle might have been a little of a wake up call, enough to leave Oak behind and go on a journey of self discovery, as cliché as that sounds.
I like how this game includes the Executives, old theories like Raticate dying and Ditto being failed Mew clones, and manga elements like some Gym Leaders being with Rocket and Mewtwo having human DNA.
actually, the thing about the gym leaders being members of team rocket is canon as of Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee . While Blaine is mentioned the most, others are pointed out as having had ties to the organization at one point or anothe. At tleast it didn't take the Pokemon Rusty approach (a youtube series) where Rocket just uses guns and most grunts are too stupid to realize what they're capable of. Fun fact, there have been several pokemon episodes which feature guns, though most of them are banned or heavily restricted
The story about the Mewtwo project and the gym leaders working together with them is very similar to the original pokemon manga from 1997. Pretty cool to see it in a game.
You know what I find about this mod entertaining? The fact that the player (Team Rocket) and Blue have a somewhat friendly relationship between them, especially when Blue asks if the player can show MissingNo and that the player agrees.
@@Katchelina i do know the games came first, but gary and blue literally share a backstory, say they're different people all you want they're identical designs with identical back stories.
I just realized how chilling the fact Red never talks is, now that we have the context of him being a genetic experiment. Such a fun way to make it make sense
I thought it was just awful. It feels like it undermines everything Red stands for to me. I was absolutely adoring this game until they got to Red’s backstory. Just like… it went from amazing and creative fan fiction to out of nowhere edgy nonsense that acts as a cop out. It made me sad. I was really enjoying it until then. :c
@@chaocobojun2098 If that's a cop-out then there's no such thing as good story telling. Think about it: Red barges into people's homes without invitation, beats up their partners for absolutely no reason other than to express his power, takes their money, takes their stuff that's laying around, and leaves without a word. Sure it's a kid-friendly video game, but when you stop and think about it for 3 seconds it's not really a big jump in logic to think he's a sociopath.
@@blueeye8576 I mean yeah he does all that stuff, and he could be considered sociopathic for it, but I still don’t like the experimented monster human part. :c
@@chaocobojun2098 My man this is a ROM hack where team rocket grunts actively order pokemon to kill people in plain sight and professor oak is a psycho murder professor. Nothing here is canon.
This mod is so WELL WRITTEN like omfg. I love how the creators clearly know a lot of Pokemon lore and references, like the tutorial guy being a drunkard in the japanese version, or the Mew at the truck thing!
@@MelancholicMelody43 This romhack literally make missingno canon and is a important part of the lore, if anything a mew chilling under a truck is normal lol.
I just watched this and it was well done. It also kind of explains why a mom of a 10yr old didn't even react to "Red" leaving home alone to travel the world without any resources, guidance, or anything. In fact, when he leaves, he pretty much cuts ties with home forever.
Amazingly, if this game is making an effort to enmesh itself with the rest of johto-kanto game lore, it’s actually sadder than you think. Red’s mom, if you visit her in gen ii, laments that she hasn’t seen her son in years and wonders if he’s okay. She still raised that inhuman abomination and loves him as a mother would love their child.
With fly you can visit home and talk to you're mom and sister and or go to blues house change to his nickname or get an egg from his sister or may e that's just infinite fusions
Imagine being Blue, trying so hard to get your grandfathers love, loving your Pokémon beyond measure like he said to, doing everything including becoming the champion of the greatest sport in the world at 12 years old and he still calls you a disappointment and loves a random widows child more than you even though he was raising that child to do the thing you just did. Besides all of that, he’s so fucking talented he became a champion at 12 and was only beaten by a genetically bred superhuman for Pokémon battling.
Dude... This whole thing is is just a big nod to the duplicate glitch from gen 1, OH MY GOD It even includes parts of the glitch, the old man and finding Missing No. on the side of the beach! AAAAAHH THATS INSANE
The Professor Oak battle is ALSO a nod to the Fight Professor Oak glitch. In the glitch battle which was removed originally in red and blue he was supposed to have a level 66 Tauros, a level 67 Exeggutor, a level 68 Arcanine, and a level 70 Gyarados. The final pokemon was whichever starter that wasn't chosen...in this case it was Venusaur.
I love how ever since you lost to Red, the player character consciously avoids battling him, because he's so terrified of losing to him. Even when you get stronger, you don't fight him again until you have no other option but to face your greatest fear: Red.
so if the kanto starter line are considered wartime pokemon by giovanni, and in the case of charizard being a dragon and blastoise having literal cannons on its back, does this mean that using venusaur is a war crime because of its poisonous effects?
I can't express how satisfying it was to raise that little Rattata to eventually bring down Red's Charizard, and then beat Oak with only Missingno and Mew, because it just felt like the right thing to do. This hack really was a rollercoaster of plot twists, and you really felt accomplished when you beat the boss battles -- really one of my favorite fan games.
Woah I was NOT expecting this story?! This started off as a light-hearted "haha, imagine playing as a Rocket grunt" and evolves into THIS?? Genuinely amazed by the ingenuity.
@@novameowww I think that no amount of therapy would stop Ghetsis from being a terrible person N and his sisters, however, definitely need therapy and would benefit from it
I absolutely love how They this mod characterizes The villains. And Just Makes Red look like a Complete emotionless Psycopath. Because from the Perspective of the NPCs thats what he is. just an empty husk without emotion. They can't see the player Controlling them. To them Red must look like some Indestructible object from a Horror movie or something.
btw, the vid doesnt show this, but when you defeat oak, he was about to say that you may be a robot like Red as well, before being cut off and arrested by the cops
This mod is amazing. I watched a smaller streamer do a full playthrough of the game, talking to all NPCs and doing all side-quests. I appreciate that some stuff was omitted from this video to keep some suspense. Some of the noteworthy things not present in the video are: - Some cutscenes with Lance. One where he's talking with Steven (Hoenn champion) on the S.S. Anne about the Kanto-Johto war, and one where he fights you after he loses to Blue - Silver also makes several cameo appearances throughout the game - You can catch Mew if you use Strength on the truck (that area remains accessible throughout the game) - A cutscene where Ronnie interrogates Daisy (Blue's sister) and has his Raticate attack her, right before she was about to give the player some lore (she was having a nice chat with the MC before Ronnie showed up) - A side quest where you help a s*x-worker run away from her procurer and find a new job as nurse - What the Rocket base below the Daycare Center looks like, and a cutscene where the kid's Nidoran is thrown into a breeding pit - There's side quests where you can double-cross the guys that give Red the fishing rods and coerce them into giving you different rewards depending on your choices - There's also cutscenes that give lore as to why the Safari Zone warden has his golden teeth gone missing - You have to defeat all Gym Leaders (Giovanni is replaced by Ariana) in order to get to the Pokemon League HQ. If you beat them after becoming Boss, you can steal their Pokemon, and if you do, they all have unique reactions. I especially love Erika's reaction, for reasons... - There's a cutscene right after you defeat Oak (after the moment where the video ends), showing what happens to the player, to Oak and to Red (this gives lore as to why Red is found in Mt. Silver in Gold/Silver) - A post-credit cutscene that sets up the plot for the sequel - You can catch Mewtwo and the Legendary birds in the postgame (you do get sent to jail, but you get bailed out after reloading the game after the post-credit scene) Also, I really love the speech that Oak gives about Red before you fight them, which is cut off in this video. He says he's been following Red's journey and whispering into his ear before he could make any mistake (giving some lore as to how in the games you hear Oak's voice when you try to use items out of place). He also describes Red as a puppet whose purpose is to be controlled at a distance, and that his personality can be anyone's. That he is the embodiment of cold-blooded rationality, and that the thing that makes him different from a human is the lack of an emotional core to guide his innate aggression and his unconstrained intelligence (I love the wording for this last part).
@@hanin3128 Channel is Lu Bu Feng Xian, here on TH-cam. The playthrough is over, but the complete VODs of it are in his channel. Titles all start with "Pokemon Fire Red Rocket Edition", and they are four videos total (and each is around 8 hours long).
That ending... "Welcome to the world of Pokemon" is such a fitting ending for this game, dude. The fact that, even after all of that, the way you literally saved Kanto as a region and you still get arrested without having ever shed blood... That's just so fucking good.
My favorite character out of everyone here is Blue, hands down. Honestly, I feel like Blue is characterized as a good pokemon trainer here. He's just a jerk to Red because, well, he's a kid and he's hostile to a kid that his literal blood related grampa favors way more than Blue. In a sense, Blue is not even a blip in Oak's eyes. Oak didn't even consider him as a part of the experiment. (Although you can characterize this as Oak wanting to spare Blue from the horrors, but I doubt it.) However, if you dig a bit deeper, Blue is probably the biggest obstacle to Red AND Oak, being their greatest helper and foil at the same time? In this mod anyways. Blue defeated Lance, not Red, so Red defeated Blue instead. Oak didn't really accomplish his goals, because he wanted Red to defeat Lance, but Blue, Oak's literal grandson who has almost no connections to the plan, who shows care towards his pokemon (his rattata who died and Gary was mourning), defeated Lance first. He's almost as strong as Red, and Red, in a way, is also partially defined by how Blue treats him. He's their foils, literally and metaphorically. Blue also was the one who revealed Oak's plan because Oak didn't consider him, Blue gave information that Oak has been very secretive of, which led to Oak getting captured. Blue is a ten year old who wanted validation from a grand father who was too obsessed with his own ambitions, and he even learned from Oak on how to be a good pokemon trainer from his words. He's a tragic figure, along with Red, being too young to realize what was wrong. In the end, Red probably ended up running into the mountain for soul searching, and Blue ends up finding him again. Tbh, I'd like to think that they needed a long talk about it and reconciled over time. (I'm a shipper yes, but even without those parts, this kind of story is a great one, as i headcanonned Blue helped out Red figure his own thing) Blue and Red being both victims to Oak's plan and figuring out their place as their vision of the world get destroyed (Blue understanding that his Granpa wasn't a good person, realising his manipulation on the person he thought was the golden boy and neglect on Blue himself. Red finally getting defeated, his final goals never being accomplished due to being beaten by Blue's first come first serve against Lance and realizing what he actually was and the consequences) and helped out their own thing. Also I like how blue just calls grill Mr. Rocket. It's my favorite part.

would've been cool to give him 2 of the same move when you got him, as it does have 2 of the same move when you catch it. another thing that would've been cool is if they tried to accurately recreate the "TMTRAINER" effect instead of super glitch just being a regular attack.
I literally spent 10 hours watching the vods for this playthough yesterday. Man, my timing could not have been worse, but it was enjoyable, will like this video as well :D
And this lore-wise is why Red 'whites out' when he loses He's not supposed to lose, it's a glitch, so it's just overwritten as if he was somewhere else at that moment instead. Some overlapping 'coding' with a Poke center, makes you think you're healing your pokemon instead of losing a battle and all that
@@bioniclink3026 plus, IIRC, there's an Oak trainer programmed into the original game with a team and everything that just never got an encounter implemented. I think it's the same team used in this mod!
I know Crow was consistently shocked by the turn-arounds, but most of the "plot twists" (Blaine and Lt. Surge being a part of Team Rocket) were actually in the Adventures manga, and were references to that! The only added things were Bill being involved and Prof. Oak previously being in cahoots. Then again, I'm not finished with the video, so there may be more information to relay. Edit 1: The steroids thing? Hilarious, but it's also not too far off. Team Rocket had designed a suit for Lt. Surge that made him immune to electric attacks, while also buffing the rest of his Pokemon (which he then used to electrocute Red. Yeah, the Adventures manga isn't pretty.)
It's times like these where I'm glad my sleeping schedule is completely off because I can always count on PointCrow to be the same. I loved the vods of this playthrough, I'm so glad you made it into a video!
The moment they said Shigeki was the old man who taught you how to catch Pokémon, I knew instantly that they were talking about MissingNo. Such a good way to tie that glitch into this story.
This actually makes a lot of sense, it's always been weird how Red didn't talk, like sure, all silent protagonists are silent, but in other appearances they do actually talk, Red is the one that doesn't. And now due to being defeated and Oak being taken away, Red literally lost the purpose he was created for, maybe he scoured both regions to search for one, and eventually arrived in Mt. Silver, and when being defeated there, maybe he came back down and met with Blue again, they made up and became actual friends, so that's why they're in Alola together
@@Therevengeforget If you saw there were 2 dittos, so I think Ash is a better version of red. Obviously not as a trainer cos he kinda sucks ass, but he's more human and can pass for a human, when he eventually does become a champion, no-one will question it.
Oak: Blue, you lost because you don't treat your pokemon with love and respect. Blue: *mourns the death of Raticate* Also Oak: Just catch a better one!
I thought I knew where this was going. Then I didn't know where this was going. Then it seemed obvious and I appreciate how it all comes together. This is how you do a connective side story where everything feels faithful.
I was starting to cringe like: "oh .. the 'catastrophe' is going to be an OC that looks like a 12 years old drawing a badass pokemon" but then it was missingno and fitted perfectly in the plot. Such a morally complex game. It doesn’t try to justify Team Rocket or their exploits, but you’re ultimately the only one who can stop Oak from trying to control the whole region himself, so you have to stand against him. Even though you stopped a political conspiracy and Professor Oak got what he deserved, you go down with him for the crime of being a Rocket Boss and stealing Pokémon. Truly, a martyr of the Kanto region
Holy shit, this was incredible. I thought this was just gonna be a goofy game about being a criminal, I didn't expect the story to go so far off the rails. The way it ties together so many minor things from the original games and gives Team Rocket more of a presence in Kanto is great.
That feeling when an unfeeling, overpowered Red, who has been given every opportunity to succeed, just shows up and wrecks the aspirations of the common working man.
55:01 “the boy who never was” Because of the genetic creation red… had no soul and was replaced with a husk of a human and the child stuck in subconscious forever… until, you, you beat him and the shock was so intense it knocked his soul right out of his body and, thankful went into his “beloved” charizard. great mod incorporating elements from the manga’s story and it’s own unique takes and twists on the Red/Blue story prob the best ive seen in terms of story (not that it was perfect but definitely far above average)
I thought it was like 9/10 amazing until they ruined Red and did that to Agatha. Red is great because he’s a unique trainer who worked hard with love and trust to become like 10 tiers stronger than anyone else, not because he’s a stupid experiment that is barely human. It could be said that he still used love and trust, but the experiment nonsense just rubbed me the wrong way. It’s actually gross and to me it feels like it undermines everything Red stands for.
@@chaocobojun2098 red ≠ ash The story is absolutely creepypasta-esque, but it’s really good, and Red has never been shown to show emotion canonically in games (evolutions is not canon) so you can’t say that he’s an emotionally connected trainer Even in GSC, his whole shtick is that he’s the most powerful trainer and never talks, which is exactly what this story is
@@KingSlugma I know Red isn’t Ash. I’m one of Red’s greatest fans so of course I know that he is us from the previous game, so his silence is only there in place of a player character not being there to speak for him. This story is AMAZINGLY well written and gives an entire different light on the story or the intensions of Team Rocket. I LOVED watching this, thank you so much
MissingNo was a real glitch back in og Red and Blue, you talked to that grandpa (shirashi) and flew down to the research island, proceeded to surf the right hand side edge up and down. Sometimes MissingNo came up, sometimes level 101-150 pokemon randoms. Amazing to see it back in the story again
Blaine's relationship with team rocket is canon. The burned mansion on Cinnabar island was where Blaine and his colleagues worked on building Mewtwo. By the time of the normal game, it's said the Blaine had already left team rocket though.
46:21 I think the Poke money is supposed to be basically Japanese Yen. 1 yen is roughly 1 cent, so 10,000 Poke/Yen is, give or take, $100 lol. Prolly not as rich as you'd think. I think in Gen 3, Lemonade is P300/$3, Water is P200/$2, and the Pichu doll in Lilycove Dept. Store is P3,000/$30. Tbh, I think most JRPGs do this for easy conversion/sense of money.
Actually many Japanese games, including Pokemon, just straight up used Yen as the in-game currency. For some reason currencies were often changed during localization. In this case it seems like the creator of Rocket Edition decided that the currency should be equivalent to USD instead.
@@Therevengeforget The smallest Yen banknote currently issued is 1,000 yen. Japan hasn't issued 1 yen notes since 1958, so I would doubt they were intended to be 1 Yen notes.

@@orangeboi3387 There are 2 explanations - 1 - This is a mod and not canon to the official games 2 - Professor Oak being the very manipulative person and probably having good connections , he probably somehow got out and reattained his position and decided to stay in johto for a while to avoid the public's despise against him. Although it would be interesting to see what explanation the mod developers would put in the second mod if they even have plans to make and release it.
Spoilers: So professor Oak raises up a child for the purpose of gaining political power? The Plot from Black and White was so good, that they recreated it in in a ROM hack
One detail I think is super cool about this hack is in the cutscene where Giovanni tells you about the mewtwo project, mewtwo is wearing a helmet at first. It looks similar to Type: Null’s helmet from sun/moon, which is canonically meant to control and restrict it’s power. Null evolves into Silvally by breaking off its helmet. Null is also a lab made Pokémon just like mewtwo.
If you read the manga, alot of this correlates with how Blaine actually was the rocket researcher in charge of development of Mewtwo, I'm impressed by the game creators attention to detail
This ROM hack is so insane, from both a story and technical point of view! I've dabbled in gen 3 ROM hacks, and I wouldn't even know where to start on that Super Glitch move animation, for one. The flashbacks and the reality distortion in the overworld are also cool.
Dude... this is by far the BEST Pokemon mod I've ever seen!!! The amount of effort the makers put into the backstory with all sorts of lot twists is just amazing and impressive!!! I seriously wish this stuff was canon!
This is honestly my favorite Pokémon rom hack out there. The way it just reconstructs the whole story of fire red/Leaf green is honestly just so awesome
Giovanni and Oak were working for the same goal, take Kanto back from Johto's hand and is insane how Giovanni was somehow the less deranged of the 2 lmao.
The story is the same as pokemon's, so red goes to MT silver and blue does his own thing, while our team rocket protag is either sent to prison for a long time (he cant interfere with the natural flow of the pokemon stories.), or he is in prison for only 1 year because he barely did any crimes at all (at such point he probably isnt that evil anymore so yknow), or he gets bailed out of jail (but like, what can he do now anyways?)
DEAR GOD I JUST LOVE fan stories about popular stories and games in the perspective of others and just how dark it can turn! It’s such a wild ride and I just love this type of stuff
I think what would have made the final battle just that more satisfying in my eyes is make your Pokémon not heal after the final red battle. So while you spend a couple of turns just healing Oak sets up his first Pokémon with X items
Wow, this game actually makes you see Professor Oak and Giovanni as disputed partners for control of everything and Mew 2's history. This was a nice watch.
This is the greatest rom hack ever made. Every part of it is amazing. I played it before it was completed and ended up having to beat the game 3 times but it never felt like a slog. The story is so good too. It makes a lot more sense than most Pokémon stories. The ending was amazing too.
Fun fact: if you didn’t know, the “Shigeki” character is the guy you talk to in the Gen 1 games to start the item duplicate glitch and to find the MissingNo
The moment they said it distorted reality it clicked in my head, I bet it's missing no. what else could be seen as a catastrophy an abomination even mewtwo would want dealt with at first I thought mew but the flashbacks helped me piece it together!

This mod is amazing. I watched a smaller streamer do a full playthrough of the game, talking to all NPCs and doing all side-quests. I appreciate that some stuff was omitted from this video to keep some suspense. Some of the noteworthy things not present in the video are:
- Some cutscenes with Lance. One where he's talking with Steven (Hoenn champion) on the S.S. Anne about the Kanto-Johto war, and one where he fights you after he loses to Blue
- Silver also makes several cameo appearances throughout the game
- You can catch Mew if you use Strength on the truck (that area remains accessible throughout the game)
- A cutscene where Ronnie interrogates Daisy (Blue's sister) and has his Raticate attack her, right before she was about to give the player some lore (she was having a nice chat with the MC before Ronnie showed up)
- A side quest where you help a s*x-worker run away from her procurer and find a new job as nurse
- What the Rocket base below the Daycare Center looks like, and a cutscene where the kid's Nidoran is thrown into a breeding pit
- There's side quests where you can double-cross the guys that give Red the fishing rods and coerce them into giving you different rewards depending on your choices
- There's also cutscenes that give lore as to why the Safari Zone warden has his golden teeth gone missing
- You have to defeat all Gym Leaders (Giovanni is replaced by Ariana) in order to get to the Pokemon League HQ.
Silver in Gold/Silver)
- A post-credit cutscene that sets up the plot for the sequel
- You can catch Mewtwo and the Legendary birds in the postgame (you do get sent to jail, but you get bailed out after reloading the game after the post-credit scene)
Also, I really love the speech that Oak gives about Red before you fight them, which is cut off in this video.

(Although you can characterize this as Oak wanting to spare Blue from the horrors, but I doubt it.)
However, if you dig a bit deeper, Blue is probably the biggest obstacle to Red AND Oak, being their greatest helper and foil at the same time?

The moment they said Shigeki was the old man who taught you how to catch Pokémon, I knew instantly that they were talking about MissingNo. Such a good way to tie that glitch into this story.
also could explain how you cant find missingno. in pkmn firered/leafgreen, it was already taken
I like the implication for Rocket Edition canon is that Red basically left to find sentience and became an impaired but functional person

I knew it was missing no as soon as the final scientist gave you the cutscene, the "fabric of reality " comment was a dead giveaway, as well as the water area that was shown, fun fact, you can actually encounter missing no in the real game if you travel to that location
ONLY on Pokemon Red from Gen 1, it doesn't show in any remakes
The funny part is that Gary beat Lance too, so Oak didn't actually need Red at all.
Oak was only disappointed in Blue because he (Oak) reeeeally hates people who try to ride bikes indoors.
Makes it even more soul crushing, he actually finishes what his grandpa wanted even though he’s been mistreated so much, just to be yelled at anyway.
Well who’s to say blue would listen to oak on what to do red was made as a puppet to say yes to oak and do what oak wants blue may not listen hence red was needed
@@Potato_tomato47 Exactly! And Blue might even be more stubborn when he catches on to how evil Oak really is.
His and Agatha's grandchild is the reason
The moment I realised they used plot-lines from Pokemon-Adventures, this mod went up 100 notches in my book.
dude this is so nicely executed, i love living in a time where everyone can make videogames. Never thought I‘d watch a pokemon vid for the story.
nice narration by the way, good choice to do it like this. :)
I absolutely loved the explanations it provided for some mysteries like the Day care, why the Cut master was sick, Warden Slowpoke's missing teeth, ditto's origin, the mew truck and the gen 1 Missingno catching ritual.
I LOVE how you don't even get a choice for your starting Pokemon. Everyone just gets Rattatas!
I woulda thought you could at least pick between a rattata and a koffing. :/
Wish I could start with a Zubat.
I love how PointCrow's "Subscribe now" message just says:
We may be cold heartless criminals, but at least we're cold heartless criminals together! :)
I was actually thinking if you'd edited any of the streams of this and literally within 30 seconds of that thought this video was uploaded
20:49 I have never heard Crow say "let's... let's go". It's usually LET'S GOOOO. Clearly this dark atmosphere is affecting him
It finally makes sense now why Oak welcomes you to the world of Pokemon and let’s you choose your appearance.

I think the Poke money is supposed to be basically Japanese Yen.
@@kalebroark87 I mean, are there yen banknotes? If so, then the briefcase might be full of 1-yen banknotes
@@Therevengeforget The smallest Yen banknote currently issued is 1,000 yen. Japan hasn't issued 1 yen notes since 1958, so I would doubt they were intended to be 1 Yen notes.
For the first time in watching a firered/leafgreen playthrough, I'm happy that the Marowak is already dead when you go to the tower
I love how the door of Professor Oak’s lab comes back after you use the crowbar 😂
As a foreign language speaker, I really do love this type of content. Not sure you're going to see that comment, but both Uranium and this video kept me waiting for the plot to continue, you really are talented as telling stories, that type of narrated walkthrough is even great to hear like a podcast yk, keep up the work
"And when we in insisted, it refused."
Mewtwo: *wiggle wiggle*
They need to make a HeartGold/SoulSilver version of this if they haven’t already
Actually there is a post game scene in which we can see gold (ethan) being made just like red after professor elm acquires the tech
@@doge7676 but wait, how did oak escape prison after that? to see him in gold?
@@orangeboi3387 There are 2 explanations -
1 - This is a mod and not canon to the official games
2 - Professor Oak being the very manipulative person and probably having good connections , he probably somehow got out and reattained his position and decided to stay in johto for a while to avoid the public's despise against him.
Although it would be interesting to see what explanation the mod developers would put in the second mod if they even have plans to make and release it.
Spoilers:
So professor Oak raises up a child for the purpose of gaining political power?
The Plot from Black and White was so good, that they recreated it in in a ROM hack
N REFERENCE!?!?!?😳😳
Well N was my stan so.............
I'm a guy and straight but N is so likeable
@@tomokia9936N isn’t a bad guy. He just is misguided.
Isn't it just Mewtwo's armour from the movie?
It's the armor
he's wearing the helmet from the movie
Lt Surge with that Liver King energy 😊
Lmfao I did NOT expect to see a comment about that guy on this video
Hello pointcrow thank you for uploading at 4 am, fueling my bad sleep habits. (Seriously though, you make great content, thanks!)
Dude same. But the content is just so top notch I can’t NOT watch it.
4am, still watching pointcrow, let's gooooo
Yooo eastern timezone gang
For real bro
It’s 1 am for me now
This is honestly my favorite Pokémon rom hack out there. The way it just reconstructs the whole story of fire red/Leaf green is honestly just so awesome
39:38 I was thinking that "the catastrophe" was MissingNo, and once we were told that it was just off Cinnabar Island confirmed it XD
Giovanni and Oak were working for the same goal, take Kanto back from Johto's hand and is insane how Giovanni was somehow the less deranged of the 2 lmao.
What an awesome story. This story needs a sequel where you, Blue, now the new champion, and red, finally gaining his independence, team up.
Ralsei pfp opinion valid
Now let's be real: This is incredibly awesome. Edited, commentated and written.
The detail of the *thud* sound when Red walks into your character is great. Really goes to sell the robotic quality
This honestly has the best storyline of any Pokémon game released to date
I think what would have made the final battle just that more satisfying in my eyes is make your Pokémon not heal after the final red battle. So while you spend a couple of turns just healing Oak sets up his first Pokémon with X items
Wow, this game actually makes you see Professor Oak and Giovanni as disputed partners for control of everything and Mew 2's history. This was a nice watch.
When I saw it was fire red:rocket edition I go SO excited! This is my all time favourite hack! It’s such a well made ROM hack!
It took me until they showed where the guy left it frozen to realize it was missingno.
@@faceoctopus4571 yeah same haha. Once I saw cinnabar island it clicked
I was so scared it was going to be some cringy OC mary sue. But missingno made so much sense
I realized it was missingno when they showed the old man cause that's how you access missingno to begin with in the original game.
I kinda realized it when the beginning of the video showed a glitchy Cinnabar Island.
Kinda weird how they’re so many people named Grill popping up across the regions… I bet it’s just a coincidence
Personally, I blame George Foreman.
