I pre-ordered and got mine about 6 weeks ago, I agree with your review 100%. Amazing guitar and you included some great playing as always to go along with the review!
Wonderful, wonderful job. Great tone my brother. You just made me want mine to come in even more. I ordered January 20 and the good folks at GC are telling me August 😢
Got mine about 2 months ago. As you stated, the nut is perfect and I only had to adjust action and relief. The guitar sounds great. I use 10’s and do find the action is a bit stiffer than my LP’s and SG’s. I’ve never used 9’s but am tempted to try a set on this guitar. Thanks for a great review and super playing!
Yes, I think they certainly would. The SE DGT has some of the best inexpensive pickups around, but they’re not in the same league as Fralin or Lollar. That said, in a band mix, probably not a drastic difference. Thanks so much for watching.
Question: Is this neck similar to a Wide/Fat? If you know.. Great Review Sir! I'm kinda glad it's taking so long to get them out to the public. I'm almost over the GAS for this thing and realized the two SE's I have are just fine :) Wooot!!!! Just saw this 3 hours after posting. Getting a beverage and settling in.
It’s actually pretty unique. The depth feels similar to the wide/fat, but it’s narrower at the nut, has a different profile taper, and more shoulder. Thanks for watching.
I've been wanting to purchase my 1st electric guitar. Only been playing for about 13 months. I like bluesy rock and have been looking at this SE DGT or something like the Sire S7 HSS. Which do you think is the better guitar? Or any other recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.
Frank don't buy anything you can't sit and play for a bit. Especially when you just started playing. Your guitar will become an extension of yourself with time. Make sure it's comfy and plays the way you like it. Good luck my new brother in tone. Keep on playing man.
@@aaronp6426 Thanks Aaron for the good advice! I definitely need to go spend some time playing everything I can get my hands on within my budget and see what "clicks"
If purchasing your first electric, you really should get some in your hands and choose the one that feels right, mainly the neck. You really can’t go off reading features or listening to someone else play. I’d recommend having someone with experience evaluate things you may not yet be sensitive to, such as the fretwork. Also, there are so many good guitars for low dollars I would recommend you don’t spend too much, since it will very likely take awhile to find out what really suits you. I hope this helps and best of luck.
I do not. I’ve reviewed a number of SEs and they’ve all been very good though. I would expect the Santana to be equally nice. Thanks for watching and check out my other SE reviews.
I would say they’re equal in quality and playability. The problem is, a total beginner is not going to have preferences in neck shapes, control layouts, pickups- the ways these differ. Honestly I think a beginner might start with a less expensive model with a more average neck. Something like the PRS SE CE24. It’ll play just as well, sound good, and an average, somewhat thinner neck is a good starting point.
@@leonardgriffieblues5845 Unfortunately, I already ordered DGT SE as my first guitar, before I saw your response. Still hope you will make a guitar course, I watch all your reviews for playing parts.
Man, I just got my DGT SE yesterday, and it's super nice but the wiring is wrong. As far as I can tell, there's not bridge pickup. I can't get the bright sounds he gets in this vid. Guess it has to go back.
Wow.. first time I've actually liked the sound of the DGT. Thanks
Sometimes you’re never sure until you get it in your own hands. Thanks for watching.

Thank you so much. I hope your guitar shows up sooner than that.
Outstanding review, outstanding playing, and outstanding guitar!!! You’ve gone and done it Again!!

I'm here and listen,
Thank you Leonard🎸😀
Thank you my friend
Good review, thanks! Like the tone when splitting coils.
Thanks so much.
Would Fralin Pure PAF or Lollar Imperials be an upgrade to these pickups?
Yes, I think they certainly would. The SE DGT has some of the best inexpensive pickups around, but they’re not in the same league as Fralin or Lollar. That said, in a band mix, probably not a drastic difference. Thanks so much for watching.
Cool démo 🤙✨
Thanks so much.
Some nice playin there

Nice playing

Have you bought an electric guitar yet? I recommend going to some music shops and trying several different ones to see which you like.
Sounds great. Do you have any experience with the PRS Santana SE?
I do not. I’ve reviewed a number of SEs and they’ve all been very good though. I would expect the Santana to be equally nice. Thanks for watching and check out my other SE reviews.

Wild In The Country! Wait, wasn't that an Elvis movie?
Which one would you recommend to a total beginner, DGT SE or SE McCarty 594?

DGT or Revstar p90?
Very different animals. Both nice quality, but very different sound and feel. Get them in your hands if you possibly can.
I have to keep reminding myself that you were going to make it sound great even if it played like an old Silvertone acoustic. ;-)
Oh I wouldn’t go that far. Those things were pretty rough. 😆
Thanks so much.
Se guitars are nice but they really go to town with the poly finish
The finishes aren’t especially thick, but the poly is really glossy. I don’t mind. Stays looking nice.

That’s a shame. A defective PRS is a rare thing indeed. Probably some minor thing like a bad solder joint.
