I purchased a USA made PRS S2 Standard 22. The guitar looked beautiful and that was all it had. I fell for it, but soon discovered all the flaws. Bad neck, out of spec, on the bench for hours taking measurements attempting to make it playable. Tuners were low quality. Pickups were not impressive at all, epiphone quality. The guitar just looks good. I can make music on a 2x4 with nails and strings, but how much would I pay for it? I thought is would be better than an SE. I don't think it is. Given the core models look the same, what would or should I expect? I sold it thankfully and picked up a Schecter, which was better all the way around for less than half the cost. I wish the business model was, make as much money as possible without sacrificing 'actual' quality and performance. Something isn't working. On top of that, Paul making an argument, violin wood matters therefore solid body guitar wood is in the same league. Tonewood myth busted dude. So, used car salesman tactics about BS claims make Paul look silly.
The burst on that one is great. Not oversprayed. Some have a really aggressive spray.
