The Best Guitar of 2023? | PRS DGT SE Review

- There can only be one. In this video, we're going to take a look at the most hyped guitar of 2023, the PRS DGT SE. This guitar is an insanely versatile beast, capable of capturing a variety of tones that will suit any music style.
I compare it to a tele, a strat, a LP, and test out every pickup combination. And for once, I do have some complaints.

What a fantastic video man! From the opening, to your rendition of We Built This City, to the the discussion of the DGT. I'm really hoping your channel blows up, you deserve it with the quality work you are putting in! Subbed within the first minute.
Thanks dude! Appreciate the kind words. Was really fun making this video. Love this guitar still. More videos on the way!
Man you've got the whole package. Great production quality, top notch audio, incredible playing, versatility to showcase many applications of a given product and a fantastic personality to top it all off. Love your videos!
Wow, thanks! What a compliment! More to come my friend.
Love this chill reviewing style! Doesn’t feel like a spec exposition plus walk through the guitar, but a hang out with a friend to jam with his new guitar
Thanks dude! I Try to keep it relaxed as it’s just gear. Lots of great channels out there that cover specs and numbers but I’m more interested in how equipment affects the music we write.I’m glad it comes across that way! Cheers!
Wow, you have too few subscribers for such high quality content.
thank you! I think so too haha! The subscribers will come in time. Cheers!
@@SuperdangerStudiosYes they will, you already should have at least 500 000!
Agreed. Just let it flow, baby 😎
I just find out about this channel by accident, and I’m now subscribed , fantastic work, congratulations
I agree
What a revealing commentary on the guitar community! Gate Keepers and Haters? That’s a perfect description of the characters that live on the internet to judge inanimate objects. I have become a big fan of the “close to perfection “ guitars that PRS are. Cheers!
We can’t let the gatekeepers keep us down! Haha. I will enjoy what I want for any reason I want and I don’t need their permission! Ha! Thanks for watching man! Cheers.
Mine was a dud for a 5K guitar (after taxes)
Agreed…its a guitar for chrisakes…just play and have fun!!!!
Killer intro. You always present a concoction of whimsy and quality content that I’m all for.
haha thank you! I really try to make it fun and interesting.
Wow this is honestly one of the best reviews I've ever seen! And overall a highly informative, helpful, and entertaining video. Quite memorable too. I also wasn't really impressed with the PRS SE DGT videos I saw before, but this is the one that sold me on it.
Thanks man!
It’s really a fantastic guitar! Thanks so much for watching and the kind words.
What an excellent video. Thank you TH-cam algorithm. Man I really enjoyed watching that. Chilled out vibe, top notch production quality, killer playing, and a sprinkle of humour. Subbed and all that good stuff!
Thanks so much for the kind words and for watching! More to come!
The best review I've seen yet! I'm getting mine tomorrow.
Well done, keep it up!
Thanks so much, Sean! You are gonna love it. Cheers!
Dude love the content of this review. Your infectious passion keeps you wanting more. Great stuff 🎸🤘🏻
Thanks a ton! Having a blast making these videos man!
Amazing review and just WOW on the intro. You set a high standard for all YT'ers. As someone who owns the Core Gold Top DGT I can say there is slight difference between the Core and SE but then again there are slight differences between each DGT core. These are not iPhones, each guitar is touched by human hands. Regardless can't go wrong at all with the SE model.
Thank you! I try to keep these video’s entertaining and interesting for you guys and for me! Can’t just keep doing the same old song and dance haha. I love the core mode DGT. If I found a deal on one I would get it and still keep this SE. cheers!
@@SuperdangerStudios I waited more than a year for mine. The Gold Top version (Core) is a limited run as they only make those when they have enough orders to justify the cost of the gold paint. Only a handful of PRS come with gold tops. Also PRS is just way behind. Love your channel, keep it going please.
Wow, best guitar video I’ve seen ! Entertaining, educating, the guitar playing and choice of music. Top notch. I too am waiting on delivery of my DGT SE, soon as Sweetwater is done applying the finishing touches including locking tuners.
Thanks so much, Phil! Appreciate the kind words. Let me know how you enjoy your DGT!
What a great review! Stellar quality!
Thank you kindly! This was a fun video to make.
A perfect review! Very entertaining with little clips squeezed in between sections are very fun to watch. Subscribed!
Thrilled you enjoyed it. More to comer!
Great video man! Been on the waiting list forever for what seems like forever!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully you get yours on the next shipment
Great review, production pff the charts, massive playing and great demo of the tones available. Well done! I have fallen into the PRS blackhole the past few days and looking at the SE range, especially this guitar and seriously considering buying it after your review. Im going to buy it!
Haha the SE black hole is real! If there is any SE guitar that deserves the praise it’s the DGT se.
This has to be the greatest PRS guitar review ever - period! Totally honest, forthright, clear, and complete without being redundant or repetitive of other vids on this DGT SE guitar. I Loved the playing as well. I appreciated the summary of it being a “stargate” guitar and a non-judgmental entryway for guitar purists to enter into the PRS world. Spot on to me! Even tho this review is 30mins it didn’t feel like it. Never got boring or sidetracked. You stayed on point focused on the experience of having this guitar. Great job! I’ll be looking to get a DGT soon. Thanks bro!
Wow! Thank you for the incredibly nice comment. Thrilled you enjoyed it. When you get your DGT you'll be amazed at how good it sounds.
Good content, my DGT SE came with stability issues as well. I found John Mann’s (the bridge designer) video on how to install and set up the bridge. All six screws have to be set at the same exact height while using a 2.5mm hex as a feeler gauge. Now I can dive bomb my dgt and zero tuning issues.
Oh I gotta try this. Thanks!
Loved the intro, subscribed. Great video. Superb.
Right on! Thank you!
Well done and informative review - thank you !
Thanks for watching! Was a fun video to put together
This was awesome, great way to bring creativity to the intro.
Glad you liked it! Gotta keep it fun haha
YES I've been waiting for this one with indepth thoughts, real pro s and cons and comparisons against the 3 staple guitars that the DGT se has to square up against ! Really appreciate this THANK YOU cannot wait to listen to this whole video on my drive home from work 😅🙏 now the hunt begins to grab a gold top dgt se here in Canada 🤟
Its an amazing guitar and really surprised me at how good it sounds in any situation. Thanks in advance for watching!
Great playing great phrasing great guitar tones great video-subbed!
Thanks so much man!
Awesome review, and I really enjoyed hearing you play 👍.
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Perfect review and production quality.
Perfection is the only measure!
Here to say the same thing man! Incredible and insightful content! With humor. I really appreciate the honest review and comparisons. Keep up the great videos! The DGTse is value for days!
Glad you enjoyed it! Loved this guitar. Still play it all the time.
Really enjoyed this man, great content. Can clearly see you do it for the love of it, but I hope you get more views with that too! In the meantime, subscribed!!
Glad you enjoyed it! The subs will come! In the meantime just enjoying the ride!
Thanks , great review of an interesting PRS .....and great playing !
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s a fantastic guitar
A Great Review!

Subbed! Richly deserved! great demo and review!
Awesome! Thank you! More to come!
Just added onto my subscription list, that was a great review and fun watch. I want to pull the trigger on an PRS se but I’m hung up on the P90 Revstar as the contender.
Thanks so much for watching! Thrilled you enjoyed it. I gotta get a revstar in the studio sometime soon.
Nice review! I have a used DGT core that was about $2100 and it is probably my best playing and best sounding axe-even though I really love my Teles and Lee Paul. The neck seemed too scrawny at first, but I find I can play tricky chords more easily without even trying .One thing… keep the pots in GSP (Grissom Standard Position). The guy I bought my DGT from switched them and I will eventually go back. I want to be able to do volume swells and dirt level tweaks on the knob that’s easiest to grab. He had good reason to do it this way.
Good to know! Thanks for watching!
Brilliant playing and analysis!
Thank you! It’s a great guitar!
I've owned a lot of PRS guitars and couldn't bond with any of them. I kept trying to love them and couldn't. BUT Man I love this video. It made my day! I love this cover you did!
Right on man thank you! This guitar might be the one that changes your mind!
Awesome review! My appriciation from Russia! During my thinking about this guitar or Core version - I have discovered your channel! Nice work and style! And the song in the beginning - it backs me to my youngest years! Thank you for all of it! Very Good Channel!
Thank you my friend! Appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching. More to come!
You, sir, are a creative GENIUS!
Haha way too kind! Thank you for watching
dude seriously you've gotta be one of the best content creator on youtube. I love watching your videos, please don't get tired making high quality content like this. The subscriber will come in time!
Wow what a compliment thanks so much. I love making these videos. I don’t think I will ever stop.
I just ordered mine today, watching this I can’t wait to get mine ❤❤❤❤
You're gonna love it
Sounds Awesome !!!!
It’s a Rippin guitar that’s for sure
I bought my first and only PRS in 2009 and it is a DGT. Just an amazing instrument (Gold Top of course) and it kicks a part of the body incredibly well 😂
Love your videos!
Thank you for watching! 2009 DGT core! Right on. I bet it sounds amazing still.
Great Playing, and Sound!
Thank you for watching!
This is an awesome review.
Thanks so much! It was a lot of fun to make
I’ve been waiting for this video. So cool to see your amazingly produced videos that are different from the common TH-cam crowd gain some traction.
I’m seconding your views on the DGT SE. It’s my least expensive guitar but most often played one these days. Some slightly sharp fret ends and wonky knobs but the rest is spot on.
Now I want a core DGT! Sigh…
Hey Nils! Thanks again for watching. And agreed. The core model is now on the hitlist!
@@SuperdangerStudios I’ll be on the lookout for one. And I totally get that soulless nonsense reference. A good guitar is a good guitar. It might have to be the clarity?
Sold. Great video, just set up a buy for a dgt
Right on! Let me know how you like it!
Ordered mine in jan as well, got it last week. very pleased.
It’s a great guitar! You get gold or sunburst?
@@SuperdangerStudios she's gold
Great review, I owned the SE briefly and was blown away, as things so happened, I had the only gold one. The store asked if they could buy it back, they knew I was trying hard to get funds together for a special R9 they had I had bonded with. I spotted and knew of a 2013 DGT Core AP which became one I had to have, it took me well over a year to finally get it. Man was I confused at first, it didn’t sound like my SE, however, I had forgotten totally how to work it. I can’t put it down, as I discover new sounds and combos, that and my R9 I can honestly say, all I do is play and learn the guitar, basic set up. Loving it, I am a minimalist at heart, so I traded my first few years if hard gas for 5 of the finest examples of guitars I bonded with. No more, maybe can go one less. Great show and new subscriber. I learnt a thing or two. Whether SE or Core, it’s fantastic guitar. ❤
Thanks so much for watching my man. One day I will thin my stable of guitars and try to be minimal as well. Cheers!
Excellent videography. Very tasteful playing. Sweet tones. What more can you ask for?
Thank you! I try to keep it entertaining for you guys!
Awesome video, way better than anything on tv
Thanks Daddio! Soon I’ll enter my Laurel and Hardy phase for the intros haha!
Best review of a PRS I’ve seen - you reflected all the concerns, cognitive bias, pros and cons perfectly. Lovely playing as always, and another fun intro.
Thank you! Gotta make the intro’s entertaining! Lots to unpack w PRS guitars. I am pro PRS obviously, but am pretty much pro any guitar maker if it sounds good. Haha!
@@SuperdangerStudios I’m one of the people you described: I massively respect PRS and I have one. It’s objectively the best made, longest sustaining, most in tune and most versatile guitar I own. It also hardly gets played outside of recording. I gravitate towards (‘bond with’) the tele, strat, LP stuff for noodling and gigs. I also find the PRS a bit too ‘bling’ to play out, and I’m not massively keen on the neck profile versus, say, a 6os-style strat or tele. If was to own just 1 PRS long term, it would indeed be a DGT, with the simple gold finish. Hence me enjoying your commentary so much - I think you captured the views of alot of players.
First class video, very professional indeed. Got the DGT back in March of this year. Without a doubt it is an excellent instument for sure. The only thing I would say is the neck is just a tad to chunky for me and I would prefer more kinda rolled edges on the fretboard but guess that's just a personal thing for me.
I agree re: the edges. A bit sharp for my taste. But it's a fantastic guitar.
Nice video. Nice Playing. I love PRS and I'm old guy still playing out 69. I have vintage Strats Les Paul's but fell in love with PRS , have S2 McCarty, se Paul's, se Soapbar, se 245. Yup DGT is sweetness and growl.
Right on! Sounds like a mighty collection. Thanks for watching!
Amazing effort for a guitar review, +1 subscriber
Thanks for the sub! More to come!
GREAT video!! I’ve had my DGT SE for about two months now and really really dig it. As guitar players, it’s crazy to think how high of a quality guitar you can get now for under $1000. I did rswitch out to PRS locking tuners and planning on switching the knobs out for some type of top hats. Other than that, it’s almost a perfect guitar to cover a lot of ground.
It is really unbelievable what that Cor-tec factory is able to make now. Really high quality stuff.
THAT INTRO JUST WON YOU A SUBSCRIBER!!!!!
Thank you, Matt! Welcome to the club
Brilliant review! One of the best I've seen. I have one of these and it is truly fantastic. I had to take the action down a notch and I think it was shipped with 11s which I couldn't handle. But after that, just amazing. And such fun.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you are enjoying yours! Cheers!
Another amazingly entertaining video! I got my PRS SE DGT 2 months back. The only thing that I could not live with is the knobs. They are ugly. I changed them to the lampshade knobs, the ones they use on core models. I got it Pleked and it plays as well as my other core PRS now, flawless. I am also waiting for the locking tuners to arrive. It is indeed an amazing guitar for the price! I believe the "soul" that people talk about are stuff like G string not staying in tune, cannot intonate, unpredictability, inconsistency, and having to "fight" the guitar. PRS guitars have none of these. Thank you Alex for this video again.
I hear that on the knobs. Probably on my list too in the future! I should probably take this guitar to Glsser for a PLEK and have this play perfectly. I agree, the notion that you have to fight a guitar is bizarre gatekeeper nonsense. Thanks so much for watching!
Man, thanks for the great review. Excellent playing - wonderful phrasing! Thanks for also putting the guitar in terms of how versatile it can be for guitarists in cover bands.
Bought a gold top DGT SE this last weekend... after a setup, with some 9s, it's definitely the easiest guitar I've played... ever.
Subscribed - thanks for the great content.
Thanks for the kind words! Welcome aboard. More to come! Love my DGT se. It made me a fan of humbuckers for sure.
I'm not a single coil guy, but I must admit that split coil sounds reeeaaallyy good! Kind of reminds me of John Frusciante's guitar tone.
Best split sound I have heard!
I love your version of we built this city man. So good and the music video is fun and cool. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thanks so much man! It’s a great track and was so fun to recreate it. Cheers!
@@SuperdangerStudios yeah, would love to hear the whole cover. The harmonies on the chorus is awesome. Cheers!
@@CarloMartinYrure ill post the whole thing soon. I have a new channel I'm starting that has all the other stuff that I don't post in these videos!
@@SuperdangerStudios Awesome! would love that. Cheers!
Very nice and complte review, nice guitar, very versatil.. congratulations..
Thank you for watching!
Excellent review. Sounds very similar to my Mccarthy se. I love the versatile tones.
It’s a great guitar! Thanks for watching!
I'm sold and placed a backorder with Sweetwater along with my already placed Swamp Ash Special. Should be a fantastic belated Christmas right!!!! Thanks for the demo. I stumbled on your YT channel by chance. PS: Great voice and presentation, alot of fun to watch for almost 31 minutes :) as well, and humorous. I don't know who you are but I'm guessing you play professionally or you should. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks so much for watching! It’s an amazing guitar and I think you’re gonna love it and the SAS. Let me know how it goes w the new gear!
I just happened to cross your video for the DGT. Your commentary is spot on and really instructive and informative. I’ll be tuning in a lot more A great deal of the resentment that average guitar players felt towards PRS guitars was because of the price. Most middle of the road guys simply couldn’t afford a $3000 guitar, and let’s face it, most guys want to get a top-of-the-line guitar from a company. My first PRS was a CE Bolton core guitar and the first thing that stood out to me was the incredible clarity of the split coil sounds. that guitar was manufactured in 1997. I tried some SE versions about 20 years ago and found that their quality was lacking, but they were on par with other guitars at that level. Somebody who had tasted top shelf guitars would not have been interested in one of those. An excellent Stratocaster, like the professional two series could be had for $1000 on the used market, and a really top end less Paul could be had for around two grand and a lot less if you’re lucky on the used market. Really what players were resentful about was the cost. I”m fortunate enough to be married to a woman who allowed me to buy a special 22 limited edition, and it is simply perfect. But that perfection goes deep into almost intangible things that I could do without for a guitar that I would love. I recently acquired the SE Swamp Ash Special and it’s single coil tones and build quality really give me everything I need to put my Strat aside and even to put aside my special 22 limited edition. Honestly, the ineffable qualities of the limited edition guitar are wonderful, but are they $3000 more wonderful? I really don’t think they are. I’m here to tell you that I think I could live with the SE swamp Ash and let that super expensive guitar go. now I’m looking at the DGTSE and wondering if that could replace my more expensive humbucking guitars.
Cor-Tek has really raised the bar for entry level and mid tier instruments. Just unbelievable quality for the price. Your special 22 sounds like an amazing guitar, you will enjoy the DGT SE for sure but Id be shocked if it replaced your Special 22.
Thanks for watching, Fred!
Ha. Just bought one. Sweetwater. I got the burst with the birds. The guitar sounds awesome. This will be my 4th SE. Love them all. I'm sure I'll love this one too. Love your channel. Thanks for helping me spend money.
haha always happy to help someone spend money. Glad you dig the guitar! It's a great model. Cheers!
How have I not found you before?!! Great video Sir, Sub'd.
Welcome aboard!
You’re a great player. Fantastic guitar. 🎸
Thank you kindly! More to come!
really excellent review and video... and playing! BTW what amp and york audio IR was on the iridium?
Thank you for watching! I was using the punch channel and the York audio Bassman and Deluxe Reverb IRs. Cheers!
ME TOO!!! I ordered mine in January 2023 and got mine about a week ago and I'm so glad I Pre-ordered it!! The only problem I had was the guy who put the back plate on must have been half asleep because he didn't put it on straight and I have to take it off because it blocks the low "E" from coming out to change and the other is for some reason the strings don't come out of the bridge easily and I have to push them through with an Allen Key to remove the strings to change !! BUT after setting it up, adjusting the neck release, intonation a tiny bit of pickup height and it's really great to play!! I believe David Grissom had his 1950's Les Paul in mind because the neck feels like one and at times I feel like I'm playing one but the response is great especially for me because I do a lot of harmonics and this guitar is responsive and they SCREAM!!! I have another PRS which is the Brent Mason model given to me from the man himself, Brent Mason!!! Met him in Nashville and we became friends along with his brother Randy a great drummer AND guitarist himself!! Randy used to play with Merle Haggard and Conway Twitty and from what I know He play some guitar on Merles "Strangers" sessions!! I love that guitar and it's my No.1 and the neck on that I believe was copied with computers from Brent's No.1 Tele he's famous for and it actually can sound like his Tele!!! From what I know he lent this guitar for some of Nashvilles great session guitarists and then gave it to me!!! I miss him and his family who would always have me over for Thanksgiving dinner!!! I'm grateful I got to know and love them!!! But anyway that is my Tele-Strat guitar and the SE DGT is my Les Paul!!! Thank you for your video!!! Steve
Thank you, Steve! What an amazing story about Brent Mason! All those little things are what makes this industry so fun. Glad you got the DGT working for you. It’s take an amazing guitar.
Really awesome video (you got a new subscriber!). I’ve been having gas lately and considering this model or the 594. I have an s2 custom 24 (upgraded the components with all core parts except the tuners) and a core silver sky. Would you recommend the dgt vs. the 594 to add to my arsenal? (Also have 2 Taylor acoustics)
Thanks for the sub! I also have an S2 custom 24 love that thing. I think one of the biggest differences between the 594 and the DGT SE is the neck. The neck on the DGT SE is tall and the edges are not rolled nearly as much as the other SE guitars. Do you like having a floating bridge? That would obviously put you in the DGT camp. I feel like the 24 you have covers alot of the ground the DGT covers while the 594 would be a very different tone and sound. If you want to add something completely different, the 594 is the way to go while if you want to just take a sidestep then the DGT is your move. Hope this helps!
@@SuperdangerStudios does the 594 split as well as the dgt?
Jesus, this was an awesome review.
Thank you for watching! I think my silver sky se video coming out next week trumps this one!
Great review and wonderful playing! 😎 I love my SE DGT - like you, I got the Gold Top and it just felt "right" from the moment I unpacked, almost like a guitar I'd played for years. To be honest, I'd never really connected with PRS guitars previously, so this was a bit of a leap of faith based on my admiration of David Grissom's playing and his attention to detail in designing this to his specs. It's undoubtedly amongst my best gambles ever and ranks alongside my Tonefox Elcaster as my go-to guitar! Can you have two "Number One"s?
So stoked you dig it man. It's a great guitar. One of PRS' best!
awesome demo and amazing playing. Reminded me of Johnny A.
Wow thank you!
PRS is the Nickelback of guitars. People bash them just because it is trendy to bash them. They both sound great. The band and the guitars.
Agreed!
Man I kept thinking I was looking at an Adam Ray skit during that intro.
You have something that really reminds of him. I love Adam Ray by the way 😀
I personally wish they made this guitar without the gold top. I love how it plays and sounds, but just not a fan of the glam for myself. Still think I'm gonna get it. I think it's the tall frets on that neck shape that give it that special feel and ease of play for me. I played one the other day and just didn't want to let go of it. Felt like it played itself.
Awesome video!
Just saw they do one in Tobacco Burst! The guy in the store said it's only available in gold. Damn I'm pretty sure now 😂
The tobacco burst is really good!
Whilst i have been pretty sure about the DGT SE being my next g a.s. subject, taking the place of the silver sky as 'no.1 want'. This post has only re-enforced that opinion. It will be my first PRS (barring any unexpected deal breaking dislikes that could arise on trying one out). As it happens this is my first time seeing this channel and im well impressed with it so im subscribed and hungry for more! Sweet!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I really think you'll dig the DGT. It's an amazing guitar bar none. Once you add the price into the factor it;s a no-brainer. Let me know how you like it?
Always love your content! This is no exception. Have you made any modifications to this guitar?
Thanks so much for watching. Did not make any mods on this guitar. If I had to I would do these in order.
1. New Bridge
2. New Knobs (so its easier to pull push for splitting)
3. Locking Tuners
But thats it. Overall an amazing guitar.
@@SuperdangerStudiosWhat didn’t you like about the stock bridge? Have you considered something from MannMade or Vegatrem?
@@SuperdangerStudios awesome! Thanks v much for your thoughts on these mods. I still haven't emerged from my pandemic guitar buying spree....the DGT SE is on my list now!
Oh, and some quality playing, also!
Well played bro! Which York IR did you use on the video? Is that DXVB or FTWN?
Thank you! I think I used both DXVB and the Bassman IR.
Man, PRS should pay you! Honest review, thats what i wanted. Got it, and so much more. Again, some good valuable pro tips with pedals and getting the most of the pick ups. Never had any pedals, and now in the age of 53 i feel something new is revealing to me. Wow, thank you!
Haha they should! Nah it’s all good. It’s an amazing guitar that more people should know about. Glad you picked it up. It’s really a great instrument. What pedal are you thinking of getting first?
@@SuperdangerStudios tuner 🤣 and joyo king of kings
@@2wheelhopelessgarage258 nice!
His videos are so so so so so good!!!!!
Thanks Man!
i have a SE McCarthy 594 single cut tobacco sunburst, and I love it... I'd like to have a SE DGT also... You're right. PRS sound is make us fall in love and soulful
I gotta try their 594 se line. They look and sound great.
OMG! 😂 this is the best thing I have seen all week. I'm not going to show this video to my PRS SE DGT....It will think that I am not....loving. ❤😂😂
Haha do you truly LOVE your guitar?
@SuperdangerStudios well like you said....can't really love a guitar. But I kinda do love this PRS DGT SE.
Ok, you finally convinced me. Got mine two days ago. Can't decide if I am happy or heavily disgruntled...
Happy because this thing is awesome - it was perfect out of the box/bag, the neck is the best, and those pickups are otherworldly - I have mostly Throbak and Kloppmann humbuckers (the most expensive set costing as much as the DGT here including shipping,VAT, and customs) - and these are at least as good.
Disgruntled (somewhat), because this thing is maybe not as flashy, but at least as good as my Private Stock 594 (which did cost close to 12k).
Love your commentary... Whenever somebody mentions 'mojo', 'karma', or 'zen'... Just run!
haha right on! It's an amazing guitar and really makes you question your other ones! And yeah, I stop listening when people start to use the low-resolution phrases like that. Mojo is probably the worst offender haha.
What a player you are - wow!!
Thank you! Been playing a long time!
Is there a full version of the musical number "We build this city" ?? Love this song
I am going to start a new channel that just has the full performances/recordings that I have put together!
Totally agree. I saw a video from a well-known TH-camr who said he didn't like PRS guitars because they were all so similarly well made, he preferred a Gibson Les Paul where you had to hunt for a good one, that was 'Mojo' to him. I will take a well-made and good-sounding guitar any day. I have never been able to measure a guitar's Mojo, just some I like better than others.
Weird how some people can measure the intangible somehow haha. I might do a huge video on the psychology of branding just to kick the hornets nest!
Got a tele, strat and a prs. Love them all.
Don’t make me pick my favorite child!
Nice playing sir😊❤
Thank you!
I walked into the store with the intention of getting the Silver Sky, then tried the DGT and loved it so much more despite the colour 😀
Including that comparison was super helpful. I know it's completely different guitars, but I already got a Strat and I think I can rock something a little different in 2024.
For me it's the perfect middle ground between strat and LP. Really nice open tone, fun to play, and lots of tonal variety.
i love PRS. soul is in the fingers. i like them mainly for the passion Paul has in guitar building and the quality of their construction.
by the way, i love how you played yesterday.
Agreed. What other guitar company has the name on the headstock still involved w production? His passion and unwillingness to toe the line is admirable. Always will support a man like that! Cheers!
Really nice playing too!!!
thank you! its a blast to play.
TH-cam algorithm brings me here, and I’m glad it did!
All hail the power of the algorithm! Haha. Thanks for stopping by!
so I got this as my third PRS, and yes, is a great guitar and 100% agree with the comment on poor factory setup. the action on mine was so high that you could land a plane and setup a hangar under the strings. I also removed one of the tremolo springs (now using only 3 with .10-52) in order to match the buttery feeling of my more expensive guitars. Aside from the factory setup issues, the guitar sounds and plays so much better and way above what the price range suggests. Great video
Great to hear it’s working for you!
Great video!
I've owned all kinds of designs: body shapes, 7 & 8 strings, fanned frets, baritones, w/e. I've learned 2 things:
1. Classic designs exist and endure for a reason. I've never seen a prototype of anything that didn't need a version 2, and usually 3 and 4. The classics have gone through this process already.
2. Custom builds are almost never worth it. Even if they check all the boxes there is no way to tell how it will come together until it's built.
My $400 Ibanez has spoiled me for most guitars: jumbo frets, thin & flat neck, 25.5" scale, and 2 humbuckers are now all required. All I want now is all of that plus a good tremolo.
This guitar is out because no jumbo frets haha
Haha the frets do take some getting used to. Good point re: iteration!
Hilarious intro!!!
Glad you appreciated it. Had to throw it back to 80s/90s dream sequences.
