Hello Richard!!! I saw you and your lovely wife play a concert at Jack Memishan's house about 5 or 6 years ago... I wanted to say how WONDERFUL your show was!!! I still have a recording of you playing the theme to Alfred Hitchcock....! I hope the ALL is going well for you and your family! Cheers... Dennis Wilson
Thanks for this lesson Sir, is it okay if thumb pick touch lower strings while picking? It's my confusion, while I pick with thumb pick mainly while picking 6th string my thumb pick touches 5th string though 5th string doesn't ring out loudly most of the time. Or I should practice & focus that while picking with thumb pick lower string don't get touched any way..? If you response to this, I will be very grateful to you. Thank you! Please.. 🤗
you mostly don't want your thumb pick to touch other strings but since you are palm muting it's not a huge deal. I'd suggest you to practice it a little and with time it will come along
I so want to lile this and buy the course, but he is not a good teacher. Starts off giving the chords and what you should play, but after the first three chords he's just goving advoce on rhythm and not telling what you should actually play. If I was at a level where I could follow those instructions I would not need the lesson. So this scared me off buying the course
Every time I've seen Richard in concert, he plays a Tom Sands guitar with nylon strings. The wider string spacing on most nylon strung guitars (classical style) makes the thumb picking easier, in my opinion, at least in your left hand accuracy, and possibly on the right as well.
What a wonderful technique!! It sounds great and highly sophisticated. I wish I could play the song this way.
Thank you so much for breaking it down into bite size chunks.
The base walks are cool
thank you this should help me learning this style next is chaplin in new shoes 👍👍

Excellent! Thank you !
How about a lesson on how you are muting those base strings.
Excellent lesson.

That's not at all how Elizabeth Cotton played it.
Not a clean sound for my ears. Your style not suitable on nylon strings. Maybe the type of electronics used
Or maybe just need to clean up the technique
@@darrylott302You are saying that to Richard Smith 😂😂😂 One of the best pickers around. You're a clown.
